434 entries 200 of which were freebies. Sky is therefore down £48,520 on this event?
    Am I wrong ?

Good luck today to all those still in.

    @tai-gar

    That's a little simplistic.

The 200 seats were given away in a Promo which incentivised players to put in extra volume to increase their chances of winning a seat, so there's a trade off there. In theory, it could have been profitable to give away those 200 seats as it earned the Business more than it cost. Not saying that's the case, as I simply don't know. That's the logic though.

A disappointing outcome though, whatever way it's spun.

Disappointing I agree and unlucky for Sky Poker. I am sure that there are lessons that can be learned from this for future tournaments.

However, not to take away from this competition good luck to all those left.

I dare say the champions league final played its part. I didnt win a seat but was happy buy in. I just think it was unfortunate timing

I really enjoyed playing in this , the sky poker (online) tours are fab, and to gain a seat for free was a massive bonus., and for the purely recreational players it’s a great buzz.
Pity the numbers didn’t quite match the guarantee, I hope that doesn’t put off the powers that be from running these in future, be it online or ( hopefully) live.

I couldn’t really get going in the tourney, my highest stack was approx 50k, but got 2 bounties which was nice.

Good luck to those I know who are left, esp Eamonn, Whizzy, and Danny.

    @Tikay10

    Hi Tony

Sadly I didn't make it into the online SPT this time, though I haven't been playing anywhere near as much lately, partly due to the problems with the Tournament Lobby not updating properly, which is a 'Bit of a Nightmare' for satellite play. I don't know how many other players have missed this online SPT series, because they have just got fed up with the current software problems (Tables freezing, Lobby updating), but there are certainly quite a few of the rec's missing.

One of my other issues was that people could win an unlimited amount of seats. I agree that players should be able to win more than one seat, so that they can fire a 2nd, 3rd or even 4th bullet, but the fact that most of the serious volume reg's on here, will win a seat in the Giveaway anyway (except for Craig @PKRPar and ALAN @MAXALLY who never win one :D), I think there should have been a limit of 3 seats maximum from the satellite route as there is in the Live SPT's, to give us smaller stakes rec's more of a chance of getting into a BIG Tourney.

Several players won more than 4 seats, and one player won 9, with a strategy of buying into the £48 Semi just before Late Reg. ended, when half the field had been knocked out (Obviously the way to play the Semi it seems, if you can afford £48 to play 10-15 BB's)

Out of interest on the software issues, did anyone have their table freeze/Tournament Lobby not update last night?

I had the Tournament Lobby up ALL night right from the start, to see how my SPT and SKYPOKER friends were getting on, and it updated perfectly ALL night. Today I have had each Sunday Major satellite Tournament Lobby up, and they don't update properly if you have a table open (I'm only watching, not playing). I don't know if this helps the Tech Guys at all, if they're still dealing with this.

As it's a new month on Tuesday, it would be nice to finally have some sort of proper update from one of @Sky_SamT @Sky_ChrisB or even @Sky__James please guys

We ALL Love SKYPOKER but patience is defo wearing thin with the lack of updates/info and I'm sure it has resulted in numbers being down for this latest online SPT. Obviously if there's a Spring/Summer online SPT next Year, just make the Guarantee £80K, I'm sure it would have got just as many entries, but hopefully LIVE SPT's will be back ....Manc 235 in November :)

@Chrismags imo for the outright win if he gets a stack - also fancy @cabbaz @ValueJL and @rspca12 although if he's playing SPT properly he will be too drunk to get that far

@Tikay10 was there a prize involved in this guessing game ?!

    Absolutely not.

Are you & Chrismags acquainted? Is he a decent sort?

PS - Good luck tonight Phil.

Chris Maguire - very good player had some coaching with him quite recently and the guy is super smart, nice lad too.

Good luck all those left in for tonight guys - will be doing a rail stream so you can follow the action - will have bulk of the tables up!

I will say some of the comments i've heard/seen seem a bit unfair - we're always pushing for these bigger tournaments/events, Sky took a plunge and only narrowly missed the guarantee (I was there in Manc when they missed it by 20k for the Grand final!) - I think though the promos were really good, 200 people in on a freeroll is brilliant, gives loads of people a shot at something they wouldn't usually play and created a real buzz!

Sky do need to be a bit more transparent on the software I agree - but all in all its not really that bad, just a few glitches here and there - keep supporting it where we can though guys, if we do keep bashing it in the forums etc then they will pull the plug....and I guarantee everyone would miss it if it does go - no uk/british site in £££'s other than some grosvenor comps, no live SPTs and meet ups, and realistically - tougher games for everyone elsewhere....also no more @Tikay10 updates....that would be the worst bit!

I think the event has been great, even though I don't remember much of it yesterday :D

    Keep the faith guys
As far as I can see no one is "bashing it" but just trying to be helpful.

Most of us just play for the fun of playing poker.

    But if the fun stops?

    No need to ask!

    Well said Phil.

The problems, I have little doubt, are and will be addressed. I have no knowledge of what is going on behind the scenes but here are my thoughts. Sky have been working for a while on new software. Then came covid. Then came no flash support. So, I suspect that these rather brilliant whiz kids who look after such matters were faced with three significant issues all pretty much at the same time. I could be wrong (usually am!) but what I am sure of is that like you, if the bashing continues, then the solution might be worse than the problem for many who frequent this site for all the reasons you state. All that said, a little news every now and again from the said whiz kids wouldn't go amiss.

Good luck tonight @PBKR and all the others playing. The lead has chopped and changed several times. Players with seemingly insurmountable chip leads suddenly in the pack. Others who were clinging on, suddenly in the top ten.

No I think you are right mate - this thread is probably more positive/constructive feedback than most others - so maybe it wasn't right to bring it up on here...felt right though as just points out that these sort of events would go missing should "it" happen!

Nice one @TVSpice yeh i'm hoping we can spin something up ... i'm pretty good at those flips ;)

    Guys,

All the feedback is appreciated, & the Suits will be reading the thread so they will see it.

I never swerve questions, but this is a Live Update thread where the idea is to have a bit of fun, so we'll stick to that tonight if you don't mind, & let's see if we can have an enjoyable evening, & cheer on our mates in the comp.

    Have a lovely evening, y'all.
