hi huys and gals!!

a few of you may have seen me perusing and contributing to the forums over the last month or so, but a have been a member of sky for a few years now (i remember when there were less than 80 people in the freerolls!!!!), but i never introduced myself before. well, my name is Dan, 27, from south manchester. Been a (bad) poker player for quite a few years now, maybe 7 or 8.

After getting made redundant last july (2 weeks after i got married), i have been seriously trying to improve my game, as i have been using it to bump up my bank balance, quite succesfuly i might add. i have been watching analysis after analysis, the poker channel is on at night (after skypoker tv obviously). i have read so many blogs, online strategy pages and hand analysis' till i have stats coming out of my ears!!!!

the only live games i have played are between friends, or down the pub, and this is a part of my game i would love to vastly improve, so if there are any playes in the area that would like to enter some tournaments at the casino's in manchester or even further, then send me a pm or note on this thread.....

well back to online poker, i pretty much only play cash, low stakes (unless i have been drinking lol), i play quite a few sites but my heart lies with sky.... :p quickly found i can make a wage, a poor wage i might add, but a constant none the less. so i'm not really enthusiasticaly looking for a job at the moment, more looking to take my game to the next level.

well a few of you might of seen i busted myself recently, after an all day drinking session last weekend, well this has given me the wake up call i needed.... i figured i needed to balance it out by doing something good, so i quit smoking the minute my last buy in disappeared from my account, that was 11 days ago and i'm still going strong!!!!!

i am going to buy in this weekend and really make a go of it, might even enter a touney or two along the way. not mess about gambling like i used too, more make informed decisions based on statistics, odds and reads..
i have also been using a lot of my time to make notes so beware!!!!!

absolutely love the chat in the forums, and the help and advice and community spirit is 2nd to none, so keep it up and see you at the tables.....!!!!!! and say hello, dont be a stranger!!!!!

Dan (crow01)

I`d love to have some trips to casino`s crow.  Trouble is, the spare nights off I get are very few and far between, but I am in Northwest.
What casino`s are your regulars.  I was in Manchester 235 the other week.  Such a nice casino, but it seemed they didnt have much traffic for the poker tourney that evening.  The manager said it was coz they had just started it up again, but should pick up.
I then went to Grosvenor in Salford, and I must say, I felt rather let down coming from `235`, but at least they had a decent poker turnout.  Which I did dreadful in.

Hi Dan, are you aware of the tango poker league running in Manchester area pubs? You get points for playing, top 60 qualify for a monthly £1000 freeroll. It only costs u £1 per game plus beer. Let me know if you need more details.

If you are leeds side of manchester then your only 30 mins from a casino in Leeds where i will gladly show you the ropes If you are looking for casino then i would advise against pub games as this will teach you a number of bad habits
I am hoping to do a blog next month on live casino play from a newbies point of view this may be of interest to you
    Keep Smiling
