Who won what, Friday 11th October. onlymessin gets serious & wins Avenger Main

This day last year
"A very good morning to you on a cold & frosty Sunday morning.
Reasonable numbers again, with the Main coming in at a healthy £7,260, compared with £6,750 on the equivalent day last year.
Winner of the Main was @bigfatfish who had a solid night, as he was also 4th in a £500 BH & 4th in the Elim Freeroll, in which he appears to have gone crazy, as from out of the blue he's jumped into 3rd place with 15 Heads.
Congrats to @Joelio64 who in winning the Mini secured his best ever result. Has hit the post in the Mini many times - 2nd, 3rd (3 times), 5th (3 times) but this was the first time he's emerged on top. Won a Reload earlier this year too.
@Arrogant won the £1k Rebuy BH. As it happens, on the same day last year he clocked up a win double, taking a £400 BH & finishing 1st in the Elim Fr.
I was hoping to see @_burnsy_ do well in the Main as he won free entry in a Forum Comp, but he departed early. That apart though he had a great night, winning 7 @ 7, 5th in a £300 BH, 2nd in the £1k BH, 5th in a £500 Mega, 2nd in the £1k Mega (from a £1.20 All-In Sat) & 5th in MidEx. Satellited into the Main via an All-In Sat too, so overall a very good session.
The £1k BH was taken down by @Platipus69 to earn his first ever thread namecheck. I'm assuming the alias is in honour of that weirdest of animals, the platypus, which is a sort of hybrid somewhere between a bird, a duck & a mammal. I think that when who or what first created animals they had a few assorted bits left over when they had finished, so they threw them together & from that a platypus emerged.
@ozzieowen had a win double, the £1k Mega & a £300 BH, this coming just a few days after he binked Summit.
@ScottMo1 played exactly one MTT last night, the Turbo, & won it. Historically, has had great results in both Hitman & Avenger Mains, especially the former.
That's it for today. Once again we are spoilt for choice, with World Cup Cricket & Rugby, both of which should be enormously good viewing, balanced out by the ever-so-slightly less exciting Wales v Croatia in football."

Just a short review today, I've had a 'Flu jab this morning & I've got a bit of a reaction.
MTT numbers last night were excellent, aided no doubt by colder weather, plus the only televised football being Iceland v Wales, & even that was only available on the Welsh language S4C. Zero overlay & almost every Featured MTT had really good numbers, almost certainly the best night since last Winter.
The £6k Avenger Main hit £7,700, well up on last week, but it was quite a surprising FT with none of the usual faces. The winner, who took home north of £1,400, was @onlymessin, who was 1-tabling & playing only his third MTT this month. Been here 5 years, mainly playing cash, with less than 300 MTT's to his name, & the only previous win I can find was an £800 BH a few months ago. Runner-up @Kc66 splits their play 50/50 cash & MTT's, & has a solid winning CV with victories in £800 BH (twice), 9 @ 9, Rebuy BH & Mega. The familiar name was @gez_bear in 4th place, who only returned from a 7 week hiatus last week. Has at least fifteen 4-figure cashes on Sky Poker, including 1st place in at least a dozen Mains & in fact he came to Vegas with us 8 or 10 years ago having won a package in a satellite.
@Mckgray took the Mini, playing just his 5th MTT this month & 1-tabling. Can't see too much of note on his Report Card except for 1st place in a 2019 Mini Major. Runner-up @Cei90 seems to be improving rapidly with a string of wins in recent months, the best of which being the Sunday night £5k BH last month, but also Mega (twice), Rebuy BH (twice), Quickdraw & Reload. 4th was @Angela124 who we have seen a lot of on the Forum this week. Biggest result I can trace was a MidEx win 2 years ago almost to the day. 5th was Donald aka @thisltedu who you know all about.
BWBH was a return to more familiar faces, with @Gambelo securing his 3rd win this week, having already won last Sunday's £5k BH & Monday's Quickdraw. Runner-up was @Super_Oli with @supersibb on the bottom step of the podium. Fresh from winning Wednesday's Main, @lammin was 4th with @Jessieak 5th. We don't seem to see @TommyD in MTT's much these days but he played this & ended up 6th. He's a Spurs fan so we'll spare him any abuse, he's suffered enough already.
The Rewards Freeroll went to one of my favourite Forum posters, @rabdeniro
The Elim Freeroll went to @hungup who not many of you will "know", only joined us 2 months ago & has played less than 50 MTT's, with the £50 for 1st place last night being their biggest win so far.
A busy "so nearly" evening for @MynaFrett who was 4th in 9 @9, 5th in the £800 BH but best of all won a Sunday Major seat in the daily Freeroll. Given a fair run of luck & playable spots I'm confident of a deep run on Sunday night.
There's no significant televised football tonight (unless you count Belarus v Northern Ireland) so fingers crossed for solid MTT numbers again tonight.

The first time I satellited into the Major I remember being sick with nerves, felt completely out of my depth and didn't enjoy the experience at all. I didn't enjoy it to the extent that I didn't want to play it again.
I already know that I will still feel anxious when the table pops up on Sunday but it shouldn't be anything like it was that first time all those years ago.
