This day last year

"A quiet Monday, despite the poor quality MNF (Everton v Palace). A few bits & bobs of overlay, including both Main & Mini. It's interesting how the Main throws in the occasional stinker.

@pooochy took the Main. Has won a few Featured MTT's recently, but best two results were a Hyper Rebuy UKOPS BH in December, & boomlet BWBH. It was a very short session for him last night, just the Main, 3 All-In Sats 7 a tenner Turbo BH, though maybe he was on the cash tables too. 3rd was @FeelGroggy with @ILIKE2FISH in 6th.

In the Mini, @RobRenzi emerged top of the heap. Been here 5 years & always done well, wins include several Mains. Best 3 results are 1st in an £8k BH, 2nd in a Major, & 3rd in a UKOPS Main. This was his 6th Mini win, two of which were Mini Majors.

The £1k BH went the way of @64mph who won a Mini last year & does particularly well in the Rewards Freerolls. Bit of an odd alias - I'm going to guess a speeding ban prompted it.

The rise & rise of @NOSTRI continues apace, & 1st place in last night's Rebuy BH was the 4th time he's won it this year, & 12th 2024 Featured MTT victory - 4 x Rebuy BH, 2 x Reload, a Main, Midex, Mega, £1k BH, £500 BH & 9 @ 9. There's a 3 line Whip for SPT Brighton & so now he has no excuse not to show.

@ILIKE2FISH rarely comes up with an empty net & took 7 @ 7, as well as winning a satellite to the Main in which he went on to finish 6th.

@PokrFreak played just three MTT's last night, no luck in the £1k BH or Mini, but won Mega. Only pervious headline MTT win was a MidEx last year.

@LukeyK only ever seems to play the Mini or Reload, it was the latter last night & he 1-tabled to 1st place.

@Gambelo showed up for the first time in over a week, was 2nd in Sheriff then won Turbo, with @235467 the runner-up. @NChanning was 6th but never got paid a bean, & drew a blank in 4 other MTT's, so might struggle to put food on the table tonight.

In the SPT semi, @loololollo became the first player to book 3 seats. The other seat went to @kingding23 who did it the hard way, winning a Micro, then a Quarter, & eventually getting their Brighton seat via the Semi. Has played exactly 5 games here, all of them last night & all of them Brighton. Collecting £200 in cash for 3rd was @jennyJ-J who last played here exactly a year ago whilst trying to qualify for the 2023 SPT Brighton.

Morning.

MTT traffic was a little disappointing imo. Overlay in the Featured Events totalled just £126 which is nothing, but numbers were just generally on the low side all things considered.

The Forum was somewhat livened up by a player who felt it was a good idea to start FOUR different threads on the same subject in 21 minutes. There are so many things in life & poker I struggle to understand. I keep thinking I should start a little "musings" Diary, I see & hear so many weird things. Meh.

Everyone loves a giant-killing act, & we saw one last night that was as remarkable as Leicester City winning the Premier League, or Plymouth beating Liverpool a few weeks ago. I had to do a double take when I saw the result of the Major - it had 5 really decent players on the FT - @loosecamel @GFKIJKLL @destinycod @roddy28 & @keegs, and yet the win went to the complete non-entity in @goldnballz who, as he would readily admit, is only the 3rd best player in his house, behind @fredsgirl & their cat. What was he even doing in the Major, he has an ABI of about £6, but a quick delve told us he won his seat in Monday's Freeroll. To be fair to him - I'd rather not but feel obliged - he has won a few odds & ends, including four Avenger Mains. And after 45,000+ games here over a 14 year period, it was (unsurprisingly) his biggest ever win unless you count the Vegas package he somehow won in 2020. Congratulations are in order I suppose, albeit grudgingly.

ego_death continued his impressive start here by taking the Mini Major. In doing so, he became the first player in 2025 - & probably long before actually - to win the Major AND the Mini Major inside 3 weeks. Finalists included @MAGPIETYKE @Nitrogen @reeler @zzgoose & @JammyBee

Bit of a shock in the £5k BH, though not on the @goldnballz scale. Two years here & not much volume, but aside from a few minor FT's, & 8th in a Hitman Main 6 weeks ago, @implayer had not shown too much in the way of the form needed to win a biggie, but that's exactly what he did last night in taking down the £5k BH. The FT included the likes of @Drewett @GSmith13 and the very much in-form @lJAMESl. In particular, @lJAMESl has been doing very well of late. Bravo Mr @Implayer

@kingalan18 is very much an afternoon player 7 scored nicely last night by staying on a little longer & winning the £800 BH.

7 @ 7 was won by @pokerpi who has had recurring wins in the £800 BH & Reload in the last few months.

Reload fell to (The Marquis of?) @Sweenberry who KO'd the field for Finally, their 2nd ever win, the other being the £800 BH last November.

Finally, the SPT Brighton satellite made THREE seats & £50 cash for 4th, so we'll be seeing @loololollo & @Cauliflowe as well as Brighton local @kdaddy down there in a few week's time.
