This day last year

"After an SPT weekend it's always tough to get back into the regular routine. It was a long drive home too, especially after a late finish, so I'm still a little hung over from the weekend. (Non alcohol hung-over obv). I'm always relieved when an SPT finishes, but within 24 hours I'm eagerly looking forward to the next one. The human mind is a thing of beauty.

Better numbers last night, with the Main coming in around £1,000 better than Monday. That's 30 odd more entries. Weird how it fluctuates so, isn't it?

@reeler was the winner of that much bigger Main. Amazingly, on Monday he was runner-up, so that's a 24 hour Main Event 1-2, which is exceptionally rare & very difficult to achieve. An above average FT too, with @PBKR 2nd, @AlexaAJ 3rd & @TONY509 6th. In 5th was the eloquently aliased @Uarebumboy who seems to have done very well in 2024, with wins in Marksman Main Mega & MidEx already.

@Thoich took the Mini, & was able to scratch off another featured MTT on his bingo card. In 2024 he's now registered wins in 2 x Stack Builder Freerolls (£2,700 each time), a BWBH, two Quickdraws, a Sheriff, two Turbos, a Rebuy BH & now a Mini. I'd so love him to add 7 @ 7, 9 @ 9 & MidEx to that list.

@GFKIJKLL does pretty well for himself too, & took Summit for the 2nd time in 6 weeks. By my reckoning he's now racked up 2024 wins in Summit (twice), Main, Quickdraw (4 times), Sheriff (4 times), Mini Major, Mega, MidEx, & 9 @ 9 (3 times). It's extraordinary how good some of these players are.

@Awoken seems to have sprung to life, & after recently winning BWBH 10 days earlier, he added 7 @ 7 last night.

The £500 BH went to @Slim_Jape who has been here 14 years but has relatively low volume. Does Ok though, best score being 5th in a 2023 Avenger Main.

Many congrats to @Gooner1955 who 1-tabled his way to 1st place in the Rebuy BH for the 2nd straight night, & in fact he was not far off a hat-trick as the previous night he finished 11th.

Finally, after running 2nd in last Wednesday's Mini, @orr63 won last night's MidEx - & yet Sharky still rate them at a lowly 50. Feels wrong to me."

Morning.

MTT traffic looked like being pleasantly perky last night, but as the evening progressed numbers fell away, & there was overlay in Reload (£24), Turbo (£130), Quickdraw (£220) & MidEx (£80).

Quite a shock in the Main with @BPrince grabbing the headline with what I believe is his or her first ever featured MTT victory. Been here 9 years without, as far as I can tell, ever winning anything of note, so a big well done seems in order. In 2nd was @TONY509 with @Swifteyyeu, who seems to live for poker, in 6th.

The Mini winner was no easier to predict, with @tripnip getting the nod. Hard to imagine we have any players who have been here 16 years & played less poker. Still, less is often more, so congrats to Mr or Mrs Nip.

I hardly need make mention that @NChanning (aka Peter Pan with his new posh hairstyle) finished 5th without cashing, I think that position belongs to him now. It was a good night for @MAXALLY who won TWO All-In Sats to Sheriff & went on to run 4th & collect almost £100 for taking 5 Head Prizes. Earlier in the evening he ran 7th in a £300 BH too.

@bigeaz001 has struck a rich vein of form, & after winning a £1k guaranteed BH on Sunday evening was back in the winner's circle last night after securing 1st place in the £800 BH.

@4kingboss seems to be gradually improving & had another good night, winning the Rebuy BH & running 6th in Reload.

As seems to have happened several times previously, we had a Father & Son double in Turbo (@StayOrGo) & Quickdraw (@Limp2lose). I like that Sky Poker is small enough that these things can happen. Must be pretty rare over on 'Stars or poor old GG where the wheels came off again last night.

@PYTHON68 played just 2 MTT's last night, running deep (17/57) in a tea-time £250 guaranteed BH & then winning Reload a few hours later.

The long long road to SPT Vegas began last night & the first 2 qualifiers for this Sunday's Semi Final were @madprof & @ILIKE2FISH. VBOL to them both for the rest of that journey.

The SPT Brighton Semis are proving much more popular this year & we had the biggest 2025 field yet last night with 17 entries. Seats went to @chrisdonkb @Tonyzya & @jennyJ-J (all first-time winners) with @tonyp142 collecting £100 in 4th. The event starts this Friday so if you plan to play, it's time to get busy.

In the Sunday Major Freeroll @AFFMAHEED - surely one of the best aliases on the site - won himself a seat as did @ZORRO55 & @Darts170.

In the Rewards Freeroll @smellbl1nd came out on top, after which I'm quite sure he warmly commiserated with all those who fell by the wayside as well as telling Sky Poker how fair to all & sundry their card distribution is.
