"Once again Main & Mini missed, in fact the £4,000 Mini missed by £450, which is quite a lump. Perversely, the £5,000 BWBH chimed in at £5,700. It's been a very odd week for traffic, very mixed. Maybe time of month, maybe folks playing cash for the Power Hours Promo, maybe something else, I really have no idea.
@GFKIJKLL capped a wonderful 4 days by winning the Main. Tuesday he won Summit for £1,600, Thursday he took Sheriff for £550, last night the Avenger Main for £1,600. An oddity about his impressive stats is that his 7 biggest results (all of which were north of £2,000) do not include a single win - 6 x 2nd places & 1 x 4th place. @reeler has had a great week too. He was 2nd in Monday's Main, 1st in Tuesday's Main, & 2nd again in last night's Main. 2nd, 1st & 2nd from 5 attempts is going some.
The Mini went to @spwebb, who seems to reserve his best poker for the Sunday Major Freeroll, where he's won a seat umpteen times, & Streak Week promos.
@BillyPckle took the BWBH. I watched him for a while last night, he strikes me as very good indeed. This was his best result here for nearly 600 games played, which include some solid scores - a UKOPS win, a Hitman Main win & 3rd in a Major. Was a typically competitive BWBH FT, which included @rspca12@mattprawn& @Doooobs. Runner-up was @Baboon26 who seems to have upped his game this year & is going along nicely.
There was a remarkable achievement by @rareace who entered two MTT's @ 18.30, the Rewards Freeroll & the £1k BH, & won them both. With 645 & 200 entries respectively, that takes a lot of doing, & I can't recall it ever being done before. Was shocked to see his biggest win here is £216 in 2016, but that's a bit misleading, as he has a 29% ROI at an ABI of £4.29 on a 5,500 sample size, so he's clearly very useful indeed at the stakes he plays.
That's it for today, short & sweet. Something to do with Man U v Everton on the telly at 12.30."
Just a brief round-up today as I'm down in Brighton for the SPT. I don't do much - or even anything? - but with a 2am finish for today's play that makes for a very long day indeed, especially as it'll be followed by two more super-long days & then of course the 200 mile drive home. So that's my excuses out of the way...
MTT traffic was not too bad last night, though there was ~£560 in overlay spread across 5 events.
In the Main @nigbenn delivered the knockout blows needed to take down his first Main Event in 18 years here, though to be fair he's been very low volume. 2nd went to @loosecamel who seems to be on a remarkable run of 2nd places - in the last month he's been 2nd in the Major twice, 2nd in the Main twice, 2nd in Mega twice, 2nd in Turbo once & 2nd in Quickdraw twice. There have been wins too though, notably a BWBH & a Sheriff. All that in the last 3 or 4 weeks is going some.
@JMH7 took the Mini & is something of a dark horse. Sharky only rate him modestly, but it's his 2nd Mini win this year (the other was Avenger Mini, the Daddy of all Minis), and he's won any number of Rebuy BH's & Reloads. Runner-up was @gogogadget who was 3rd in Reload last Saturday. He's very decent & his CV includes two Main event wins & two Mini wins.
A top-class Sheriff FT saw @Gutshotter emerge in 1st place. He's had some sensational nights here, including a Main & a BWBH on the same night, and he's also won a brace of UKOPS on the same night.
On Wednesday @bigdodee87 ran 7th in the £800 BH, & last night he went all the way & booked the win.
@Dravidio rarely plays more than 2 MTT's a night but he made it pay last night with a fine win in 7 @ 7.
@aynaricol has reduced her volume significantly this year but still does OK & won the Rebuy BH for the 2nd time in just over a month. I'm fairly sure we'll see her at Brighton this weekend where she'll likely be joining a shocking bunch of reprobates & degens at a place called "Coal Shed". Don't ask, I've no idea, though I'd be super-surprised if they sell coal...
@Wombwell has mainly been trying to satellite into Mains all week with no success, same again last night, but plan B was 9 @ 9 & that worked out perfectly as he took top spot. Wombwell? Yes, that used to be a mining town near Barnsley, & if anywhere deserved a "Coal Shed" it's Wombwell. It's not a place to wander the streets late on a Friday evening after the pubs & clubs turn out, trust me.
@ctbn won Mega. I'm genuinely sad we won't see him at SPT Brighton but I'm quite sure he'll be at the next leg in Glasgow.
After taking 5 years to play ~100 MTT's @breadbin took Reload. He's better known as a PLO8 player & has made the nightly PLO8 Final plenty of times. "breadbin" takes me back to my youth when abuse consisted of "shut your breadbin " or "shut your cakehole". These days it's less of the niceties & more of the machetes...
@Easylife09 pulled off a rare & possibly unique double last night when not only winning a seat to SPT Brighton, but qualifying for Sunday's Vegas Semi Final. Also through to the Vegas Semi is @karlluke who we will see at Brighton this weekend.
