    This day last year

"Lovely & busy last night, exactly as you'd think on Easter Monday. Easter is a religious festival, though these days it seems to be more about sport, going to the seaside, playing poker or whatever. Without exception all the Featured MTT's did well, with the £5,000 Marksman Main maybe the star attraction at over £6,000. It's been a while since that one made £6,000+.

Winner of that juicy Main was @HHACKNEY who has been here 8 years & mainly plays cash. Does very well indeed when he plays MTT's though & is nicely in profit. Won a Predator Mini early last month, & had a deep run into 13th in Sunday's Major. Bit of a turn-up in 2nd which went to @joelly who was playing his first MTT here since a Mini Major back in May 2021. Welcome back & all that.

@RobRenzi took the Mini, I think that's his fourth Mini victory. Runner-up was @thedazzman who collected £138. Not exactly life-changing, but he was playing a "Free Entry" won in a Forum comp so it was all bunce. It's a mystery to me why more folks don't play the various Forum Comps which have free entries as prizes. Short-change a poker player by £2 & they lose their mind, but offer them thousands of ££££'s worth of Free Entries in Forum Comps annually & they CBA to enter. Hmm.

Sheriff made a pleasing £1,550, with @ubeenpwned taking the lion's share. I may be mistaken, but I seem to recall meeting him at SPT Brighton last month.

Predominantly a cash-game exponent, @PurpleAki1 won Turbo & collected £475 which is almost certainly a PB. Runner-up was @Gas77, who you may recall came on here & was exceptionally gracious in defeat after finishing 2nd to @StayOrGo in Saturday's Sharpshooter Main. Hopefully a big win will come his way very soon.

@_burnsy_ began the evening in exceptional style, winning the £1k BH, 4th in 7 @ 7 & 5th in the Rebuy BH. He then played a shed-load of All-In sats but came up completely dry in the lot.

@robbee74 won 7 @ 7 & as noted earlier, @_burnsy_ was 4th. @jac35 was 5th, the same position he occupied the last time he made a FT, (29th February in 9 @ 9), though to be fair, 85% of his play is in DYM's.

Modestly-rated by Sharky, @rashchoice won Mega which is a very decent result for him.

@utang is perhaps best known for being a prolific winner in Turbo, Quickdraw & 7 @ 7 (7, 5 & 4 wins respectively) but turned his attention to 9 @ 9 last night & won it for, I believe, the first time."

    Morning.

A pleasant surprise to see such good numbers yesterday on the first day of British Summertime, combined with Mothers Day. Everything covered nicely - even the Mini Major, & that's a real rarity - & I'll be shocked if we have a better night for MTT traffic before the big transition to I-Poker takes place is around 8 weeks time.

For the 2nd time in just over a month, @SoLack won the Major, & as chance would have it, @newdaddy was on the FT both times, 4th last night & 2nd last month. The rest of last night's FT yielded no great surprises - @grinddd @NChanning & @ozzieowen - but there was a mild shock in 6th which went to @07condja who won his seat in a satellite. It was a 5th Sunday Major/Super Roller success for @SoLack who plays the game his own way. These days if you open to anything but 2.3X or whatever the nerds berate you, but Solly does things his own way & it works very well indeed. I see he ran 5th in the £5k BH too. I do enjoy seeing folks who are not afraid to swim against the tide. It was an especially good night for @grinddd as but for @Solack he would have had a remarkable hat-trick of wins as he was 1st in both Mega & Turbo. A somewhat odd coincidence in 8th & 9th which went to @glencoelad & @dameflop respectively, as both of them won their seats in the Sunday Major Freeroll, & both are Scottish-based. Well done both.

@reeler tried & failed to satellite into the Major but got some consolation by winning the Mini version. 2nd & 3rd were @deloresedd & @suitnboot. Please note, don't get confused by that latter alias, as we have a @suitnboot & a @suitNboots

@loosecamel continues to both improve & impress, last night he won the £5k BH, was 12th in the Major, 5th in Sheriff & 4th in Quickdraw. March has seen him win the £5k BH, a Gold Rush Main, & a Sheriff, as well as 2nd in a Sunday Major. He now sits 3rd in the 2025 Sky Poker Sharky MTT Leaderboard, with just a few hundred quid separating the top three of @loololollo @Natnug & @loosecamel. Of the three, our ungulate friend has the highest Sharky rating, (91) versus 87 for lool & the lowly rated 85 of @Natnug. Maybe @Natnug was just a fish on a heater when he won that Leaderboard three years on the spin. Other FT notables were @addy79 @Arrogant @SoLack & @7omos. @goldnballz also made the FT.

Talking of @loololollo he won a (relatively) big Sheriff, after which he played around 20 £10, £20 & £30 Russian Roulettes, presumably chasing month end points.

@loosecamel aside we had another animal species win last night, with a rodent in the form of @GUINEAPIG winning the £800 BH. Has a few form lines including 1st place in a £1k BH this time last year.

We had a bird in the winner's circle too, in the shape of @Jay_lufc although it's a rarity to see a bird that supports Leeds United. Did you know that Jays are responsible for the proliferation of Oak trees, (by spreading acorns) which is a wonderful thing, but that they kill nestling owls as a food source, which is certainly not such a nice thing? A good friend of mine with a small country estate shoots Jays (& Magpies) every day, to preserve his owlets, although he does have some eccentric traits, he's a Trump fan for starters. If only Trump looked like a Jay or a Magpie a whole bunch of World problems might well be be solved.

7 @ 7 went to @tygriff. I feel I should know what or who a tygriff is, but I don't. Maybe some sort of children's toy?

@chanceux (which is French for "lucky") won the £1k Rebuy BH. Yet another cash in 4th for @BttrThnHec with @blablabeer - not to be confused with @blablabla - in 5th.

@jas69 won 9 @ 9 & then got Streak week off to a flying start with 6 straight wins at the £11 DYM level.

In Big Boy watch, apart from those already mentioned, @Sharki0 won MidEx & @Natnug took Quickdraw, though these days the latter is more of a Medium Boy.

We had a Vegas Semi last night with 5 players booking their seat in the next Final on 13th April. Vegas Final seats went to @bromley04 @GagginKs @Easylife09 @MD_575 & @dludlow111. Four of those were no surprise, but the last qualifier was @dludlow111 which was quite something, as it was not only his first MTT's here for just short of 3 years, but he did it the "Steps" way - firstly getting through a £3.90 Micro, then an £18 Quarter before grabbing the very last of 5 spots in the Semi. Lovely to see, & it'd be bare wicked if he could nick a Package in the Final in two weeks time.

All done for today. No domestic football on TV tonight, so maybe we'll see decent traffic again.

I’d love to know where AlexaAJ would stand in that leaderboard, pity no sharky.
