"A few nasty bits of overlay last night, with the Mini & MidEx missing by £160 & £200 respectively. MidEx often misses, but a £160 shortfall in the Mini is thankfully rare. There was excellent televised football on TV last night with the likes of Chelsea, Man U & Liverpool all in action, so maybe that was part of the reason.
@Steed432 took the Main. Is a serial winner of Quickdraw but has won plenty of big stuff too, including the Major, & BWBH. He's blocked on Sharky so I'm a little lacking in data, but he's clearly handy. Runner-up was @thedazzman who was also runner-up in the Mini on Monday. He's on a bit of a roll at the moment & his Sharky graph has gone near vertical. By my reckoning he's now run 2nd in Mains three times, & 3rd three times, but has yet to grab that elusive 1st place. It'll come soon enough, for sure. Last Friday's Avenger Main runner-up @bossquaid was 3rd, & I happened to notice that this day last year he won the Rebuy BH.
A real eye-opener in the Mini, as @coolhanal won it for the 2nd time this year, having recovered from just 3,000 chips with 8 players left. The real angle though was that he won it this day last year as well. Most unusual. He's actually won the Mini on numerous occasions, including a UKOPS version. And yet another oddity is that he is most decidedly NOT a fan of BH's as he's said many times on the Forum. Despite that, his MTT ROI must be amongst the highest on the site. Won Midex 24 hours earlier too, as well as 6th in Reload, so his last 3 MTT's here (all of which were BH's) he's finished 1st, 6th & 1st. Not bad for someone who's not a fan of BH's. Deep down I suspect he loves Sky Poker, after all he's been here 13 years. Well done @coolhanal
It's been a challenging year for @Angela124 with plenty of negative variance but April has begun splendidly & the graph is once again heading sharply north. So far in April - up to the 4th - 3 wins & 2 seconds. Wins came in last night's £500 BH, a £400 BH & a £300 BH, plus runner-up in MidEx & a £200 BH.
A first thread win for @jumboa1in the £1k BH, though I'm unclear if "Jumbo" refers to an elephant or an aeroplane.
@gooner1961 is having a good year, won last night's 7 @ 7 just a week or so after winning a Mini Gold Rush, won a MidEx earlier this year too. His football team is not doing too bad either.
Finally, tremendous fun again on the £400 BH. @NChanningwon it again, but that looked unlikely with 5 left when he was out with the washing;
Well done Neil, ditto @daggers747who once again played really well. Have to give special mention to @Enut who made both PLO8 FT's, 3rd in this one & 5th in the other. 5th placed @Katellidoes well in these too, and this time last month finished 1st in the £400 & 3rd in the £200. @NChanninghas a great record too, probably made the FT more times than anyone.
I'm well behind today, so that'll have to do for now."
Another raft of high quality televised PL matches, so total overlay of £340 in the Featured MTT's ( £800 BH £40, Mini £165, Mega £60 & 9 @ 9 £75) was probably a bit of a result.
In the Main,@chkngeorge took the top spot. Was not far off FTJ cash either, as he was 9th in the Mini. Not on Sharky, so not a great deal I can tell you, except that at low to medium stakes he does exceptionally well with a very high ROI. 80% of his play is in MTT's but he is equally profitable in cash games. Is in his 13th year here. Best result I can recall in MTT's was winning a Major in September 2022, but is prolific at middling stakes & has won MML countless times. Always very polite & non-confrontational in the Table Chat, so I was a little startled to see these comments addressed to him in another MTT last night.
"you raise that much pre flop youre never getting top 10
bunch of drunk rookies risking it instead of playing poker
0% of you will end up in top 10 the way youre playing
chucken george doesnt know the rules lmao"
His accuser has been here 5 minutes, played just a few dozen games, has an ABI of £1.76, a Sharky Rating of 50 (the lowest possible) & has yet to get even remotely near a cash. I'm always shocked by the lack of self-awareness of some folks. Does it not occur to them that they might just be making a total fool of themselves? Like a proper grown-up, @chkngeorge just ignored him. Quite right too. Honestly, people bickering in bowl comps is the dumbest thing ever. When poker gets you like that, it's time to quit. When the fun stops & all that. Especially if you are a bad loser.
A minor surprise in the Mini with @bluevelv14 getting the nod, pretty sure that's their best win in over 7,000 MTT's here. 2nd was @breakbad who has been doing OK lately, & won the 10pm Turbo last month. As noted earlier, @chkngeorge just missed out on the FTJ, but @PAPABURG managed 4th in the Main & 3rd in Mini for a very nice £250 cash bonus. Makes up for being FT bubbler in the previous night's Main. Has some excellent form lines, including 3 nice results last year - 1st in BWBH & twice 2nd in the Major.
Sheriff went to @mcg899 who won a a UKOPS "Main Main" in 2023 & collected over £11,000 for it. There was actually an interesting footnote to last night's Sheriff, with @wineli in 5th & @RogueCell in 6th. Sheriff starts at 9pm but those two joined at 1 minute either side of 10.30pm, & the only player who regged later was @NChanning who makes a habit of doing so & seems to do very well when he does. I've often seen folks criticising late reggers, (never to their face, obv...) but I'm not entirely sure why. It's not for me, I want full value for my entry fee so I like to be sat for the first hand, but that does not mean Late-Regging is either wrong, or bad. Different strokes for different folks.
@Style took the £800 BH, then ran 4th in 7 @ 7 & 8th in 9 @ 9. He was one of 3 players who won Vegas packages in the last Vegas Final last year, oddly enough one of the other two was also a style - @style2737
The 7 @ 7 winner was @Bauer who has upped his volume enormously & seems to be going along nicely, in addition to last night's 7 @ 7 he won a Reload last month & ran 3rd in an Avenger Main, those being his best two results so far.
Rebuy BH went to @FckwivKatz for the 2nd time in just over a fortnight.
@DrAziw has changed tactics & played the 9 @ 9 (& nothing else) the last 3 nights & with finishing positions of 9th, 41st & finally 1st last night is seems to have worked out nicely.
Quickdraw was won by @NIHIGHGUN who seems to have been here forever. (In fact, it's only 17 years...)
@rayza9109 won MidEx, which was only his 5th MTT since finishing 5th in a MidEx last June.
Big Boy Watch included Mega going to @podraic, Reload to Monday's Gold Rush winner @Froozle & Turbo to @peiratis88.
One thing I forgot to mention yesterday was that @SCOTFOX won a seat to this Sunday's Major in the Freeroll. Really pleased about that, & I'm sure that come Sunday night they'll have a ball.
I'm done. No decent football or teams playing tonight, only Chelsea v Spurs, so traffic may perk up somewhat, hard to imagine anyone wanting to watch that probable dirge.
You seem to be spending a lot of time perusing chatboxes atm sir. WAL indeed. All you say about the moanies is truly correct but I find it mildly entertaining when you wind them up like I do. Heh heh.
