"MTT traffic was on the light side, but overall not too bad. Once again, there was European football galore on TV, including second-leg matches involving Liverpool, West Ham & Aston Villa, so that can't have helped.
A surprise winner of the Main which went to @nani4mac. Been here just 6 months & only played 79 MTT's but seems to be doing just fine. Since early February, has made 5 Main Event FT's, finishing 4th, 4th, 4th, 5th, & finally, last night 1st, which was their biggest cash to date. @ughx3000cx was runner-up & @Natnug was 6th.
@spangleswon the Mini, his 2nd best cash all-time beaten only by his win in the £1,000 Rebuy BH back in October 2021 when he had to beat @loololollo heads-up. Quite an interesting FT last night, with our friend @JammyFker 2nd, @Brunzz 3rd @Rashnikov 4th, @jawzindawz5th & that man @Natnug in 6th. And yes, eagle-eyed readers will have noted that @Natnug was 6th in the Main too, so gets £50 from the FTJ. A handy £50, yes, but must feel like a bit of an anti-climax, so near yet so far to that £5,000 bonus.
In addition to 6th in both Main & Mini, @Natnug won Mega & was 4th in Sheriff. That's probably about an average night for him.
@SUCCESS666 has been here around 6 months & 98% of their play is on the cash tables, & very successfully too. Last night by way of a change they played a bunch of MTT's & it went rather well, finishing 1st in the Turbo, 2nd in Sheriff & 6th in a £400 BH.
@StayOrGois ultra-competitive & I don't suppose he much likes losing to anyone, but I guess he did not mind coming 2nd in Quickdraw to his son, @Limp2Lose. Overall Dad had a reasonable night, winning two seats to the Main in All-In Sats, 2nd in Quickdraw, & 1st in a £300 BH so I guess he won't be too disappointed.
Thursday night is PLO8 night & the "biggie", so to speak, went to @Enut. That's probably very deserving, as he so nearly won it a week or two ago when he had a huge leads heads-up until that nasty @NChanning finished with a wet sail, & he's cashed numerous times in this one. He was also 6th in the £200 version which started an hour earlier. On balance, he's probably amongst the best PLO8 players on the site & he takes his beats like a grown-up should. He's the right age bracket too, PLO8 is not a game for young folks. It was a very decent FT last night too, which included @podraic@Jessieak@bbMike & a fella who seems to be getting better & better at O8, @Asho28.
The Vegas satellites continue to do well, Semi Final seats were won last night by @goldnballz@MARBLFLAW & @podraic with @joelly collecting £37.60 for fourth, which is enough to pay for a few more Quarters, or even the best part of a Semi.
All good.
No idea how Friday comes round so quickly these days. Enjoy your weekend."
With Arteta's Amazing Army on duty over in Madrid MTT traffic was bound to be sluggish & aggregate overlay of £560 was probably viewed as quite reasonable. Interestingly, (if you have an eye for such trivialities & I'm afraid I clearly do) the biggest overlay of £150 came in the smallest buy-in of the featured MTT's, the £3.30 Reload.
Contrasting fortunes for the annoyingly (insert adjective to suit) @HAYSIE who played just 2 MTT's last night, winning the Main but a disappointing 211/230 in the Mini. It was his 2nd Main event win & 6th Main event FT this year. He does equally well, maybe better, in the Mini. I have no idea how many times he's won the Main, but I'd guess it's 20 or more. All joking aside, he gets a lot of stick from the boys who can only play by the book - the ones say you are a bad player if your opening size is not 2.3x or whatever this week's fashion is. Which is absolute nonsense of course. I bet he's infuriating to play against, & that's a good thing. If we all played the same.... Seriously, I may not get many more chances to say this, but I admire the old boy in so many ways. Really. In 8th last night was a really splendid effort by @River_Fox.
@bennyboohas been with us since 2007 without troubling the judges too much, maybe due to low volume, but he won the Mini last night which will feel good I'm sure. Has made the FT's on Minis & Rebuy BH's several times but I can't trace him winning either previously. In 5th was @HAPPYNIGE4 which I suspect is an ironic alias. If I had my time again I'd be a poker psychologist to try & help players enjoy the game more, & he'd be one of the Client's I'd most like to work with. I see players - many players, some of them very experienced - getting SO wound up because they lose a hand or two of poker, but it makes no sense. It does not matter if your Aces lose to a flush, a straight or to 7-4 or whatever - they lost, end of, move on, next case. And in my little world, there's no way, ever ever EVER, I'm going to give my opponents the satisfaction of seeing me tilted because they beat me. Tilt is something that some players are actually proud of, they even boast they could have punched the laptop screen or whatever. Yeah yeah. But tilt is a weakness, something to be ashamed of. And SO easy to remedy. We are entitled to be a bit frustrated or cross when our Premiums get busted, but that emotion should last an absolute maximum of 5 seconds. As recreationals, if we only enjoy poker when we win, my advice is to quit the game now. Seriously. And we CAN enjoy the game when we don't win.
Moving on, a typically tough Sheriff went to @ego_death who has had some solid scores this year including winning a Sunday Major.
Chronologically the next two Featured MTT's were 9 @ 9 & Reload, & @AlexaAJ put in a sparkling performance to win both.
@LeZilla is showing improved form of late & took the £800 BH. Earlier this month won a Major seat in the Sunday Major Freeroll, & took down a Mini Hitman last month.
Another showing improved form is @jackd86who ran deep in Tuesday's Main, was 7th in last night's £800 BH then won Quickdraw despite the FT presence of the likes of @Fabraclass & @StayOrGo
7 @ 7 went to @lundie who has played some 27,000 MTT's & 60,000 DYM's in his 15 year Sky Poker journey & has made a profit pretty much every year as far as I can see.
I must admit to being somewhat disappointed to see @aynaricolwin the Rebuy BH, her 3rd Featured MTT win this month, as she won a Predator Main exactly a week ago & the £800 BH a few days prior to that. Disappointed? Of course, she should have been watching Arteta's Arsenal demolish Real Madrid.
After 8 years here without a single thread mention, @OliviaNo1 made the breakthrough last night by winning MidEx. May there be many more.
In Big Boy Watch, we've already mention the wins by @HAYSIE@ego_death and that fine double by @AlexaAJ, and there were victories too for @bigfatfish (Mega) & @Froozle (Turbo). @Froozle is having a scintillating April, we are barely halfway through & his wins this month include the Sunday night £5k BH, a Predator Main, 2 Sheriffs, 2 Reloads, a Mega & a Turbo. Doubt any player has done better so far in April.
I'm done. Traffic may be better tonight, as despite there being televised European action, it's only minor British teams involved.
@Tikay10 I was actually only playing the 5r for something to do while @Summers119 was watching the football. Ended up watching it out the corner of my eye anyway, but very glad I decided to play the tournament. You will be disappointed to hear, however, that I'm a Liverpool fan - and come from a family of Spurs fans so I have been conditioned to hate Arsenal my whole life
