how many mistakes does it take

  this was from a dym last night and it set the tone for my games i made three mistakes

  1 poor starting hand

  2 not folding to reraise

  3 chasing low

  must try harder and be more diciplined gl all

  Hope you dont mind me commenting, FWIW I dont mind preflop, that hand can flop well, as it goes you catch a piece of the wrong suit, 

  If you are going to play a marginal hand (if you want to play a slightly more expansive game) you must do so with discipline. You can easily be drawing completely dead on that flop (which in fact you are on this occasion), your low hand is not strong and you are unlikely to take both ends, I fold to the flop bet.

  
  

  I am way more likely to open this type of hand in an MTT, less so in a DYM.

  Thanks hendrik I need to reign my game in a bit I'm making too many basic mistakes and not thinking it through first

  Just to add to Neils reply.......playing OOP is never a good idea.

  Fold to flop bet.

  Yeah being OOP would mean a fold in general for me. As played I would fold the flop although if you were drawing to the nut flush I would peel one off on the flop. Turn would be a fold for me in either scenario.
  
  The hand range is very marginal to me but being OOP is the complete deal breaker. There are plenty scenarios I might apply pressure with this hand in position but it is just likely to be a hand that leads to problems this early in a DYM.

  Yup, it's a fold cheezy.
  
  Nut flush hands are always a temptation to call with, but we just don't hit enough to justify all the chips we waste.
   
  Another point here is your hand included 6, 8 & 9. 
  
  Most PLO8 textbooks will tell you these are called "killer cards", as they are so bad. Most straights you hit will either end up as a chop as the low will hit, or be the bad end for the high, so you almost never scoop. And when we set out to play any hand of O8, our ultimate aim must be to scoop.
   
  As it happens, A-9-8-6 DS is a MUCH stronger hand in PLO, & I'd deffo see a flop with it if possible.
