UKOPS XX - Review of Day 6

Morning all.

Before we get started, just a word about Billy Connolly - sorry, SIR Billy Connolly.

The Big Man was Knighted on Tuesday. What pleasure he has given so many of us, for so long.

He has that most dreadful of illnesses - Parkinson's. Life is not fair sometimes.

God bless him.

OK, best get on with what happened last night in UKOPS XX.

    UKOPS XX Event # 28 , £22 entry, £3,000 guarantee Deepstack

Some really good CL football on the TV, so the UKOPS Guarantees were a little more modest tonight. The opener, too, was a Deepstack (in other words, not a BH), so a £3k Guarantee seemed sensible.

190 runners made £3,800, so that was more than acceptable.

Unusually it was a lower quality field than usual, so it could be won by anyone, even a complete numpty. And so it was to prove.

@edrich min-cashed, as did @MISTY4ME who broke his UKOPS XX duck.

Small money for @memfno - was good to chat briefly last night memf - and the current man-on-fire, @MikeyW94 who has been burning up the tables. In 8th was @neenio, & 7th was @reeler.

I thought @cpfc_2010 might get heads up in this - he's very good, but poker is a fickle mistress, & he bust in 6th.

5th was @RogueCell who had led the boys a merry dance all evening, but a few crucial hands went the wrong way & she perished in 5th. I'd like a quid for every UKOPS event she has cashed in.

Next out was @Haydenx37, and I was pleased to see a deep run by the Boring Accountant, @mattprawn who exited 3rd.

Runner-up @Ramo888 played really well, & has an interesting Sky Poker profile. Only played (at the time) 10 MTT's on Sky Poker - one of them way back in 2013, & the other 9 all in the current UKOPS. Think we'll see more of this player, he looked pretty handy to my naïve eye.

Not sure what I can say about the winner.

He got lucky repeatedly, including one hand he won with 3 high.

I was taught as a young man that if you can't say something nice about someone, then don't say anything.

So I'll simply say that the winner was @ctbn.

    Here's the man himself;

Actually, look out for him on Strictly Come Dancing, I gather he has auditioned for it.

    UKOPS XX Event # 29 , £55 entry, £10,000 guarantee Rebuy

A £55 Rebuy is a bit of a stretch for many on Sky Poker, so this was a bit of a worry, but 110 uniques, 96 Rebuys and 63 Add-Ons added up to £13,450, a third above the guarantee, so it was was cool.

I might be barking up the wrong tree here, but I have it in my mind that £55 Rebuys on Sky Poker tend to be won by the better players, & this one was certainly dominated by the big-hitters.

    First to cash was @devil_tear, 2 spots behind UKOPS XX bracelet winner @MikeyW94, then came @Kevilfish, @The_Reflex @RAKKKI, Groggy, @Curt360x27 and @IH8PALACE, @Amz28 & @Simmy4k. See what I mean?

First to exit the final was @Froozle.

I sent good vibes to @POKERTREV on the Team Thread yesterday, & he promptly cashed in 5th for £900. Similar thing - same thread - with Irish Rose the day before, & she cashed too. If you want some run-good sent, hit me up.

@Mather14 in 4th was making his 4th Top Ten finish of UKOPS XX.

@jordz16 was third, & thereby hangs an interesting tale. If you peruse the Betting Chat Board, you'll know jordz is a very profitable Sports Bettor - he understand the key thing in betting - don't look for winners, look for value. It's no fluke, he does a lot of research, & makes a good few bob.

So, 2 nights ago, & with some real-life stuff which was a bit painful, he decided to do a really weird bet. It was one of those daft bets, he selected three dates of significance - you know the deal, birthdays, that sort of thing - and put them in a £25 treble on the football. They all got home, & he won......£15,000. He plans to use the money to place the deposit on a house. How good is that? He's a lovely fella too. Great story, I thought.

    HOW MUCH?

2nd placed @jackl must be a rebuy specialist - he won a Mini UKOPS Rebuy in April this year.

The winner was another of those guys who have run really hot in UKOPS XX (& no doubt, played well too), @Sharki0 who now has, amazingly 6 Top Ten's to his name. I fancy he has his eye on the Total Player Leaderboard, too. Well done Sharki0.

Grudgingly, I have to say "well played Colin".

I don't mean it though, just being polite, like.

    UKOPS XX Event # 30 , £5.50 entry, £3,000 guarantee Mini Rebuy

309 uniques, 289 rebuys & 146 add-ons was enough to sail well past the Guarantee, the eventual prize pool being £3,720.

Plenty of the usual suspects in the minor places here, once again suggesting - to me anyway - that Rebuys tend to favour the better (& thus better 'rolled) players.

    Mini-monies went to, amongst others, @albaking, @Kevilfish, Sticky Solly, @The_eggs, @neenio (again), @ash066pts, @IH8PALACE, @WIKED, @The_Reflex, not forgetting @RogueCell. (See, that's another quid in my lucy).

22nd was @extraman, who I hope we will see at SPT Brighton next week, as he had a bad experience at SPT Manchester, being in the Alternate queue for hours on end then getting coolered.

@jordz16 - £15K man - was 17th, just behind Luton regular @omm. @HAYSIE was 11th, @Curt360x27 10th, & the guy who helps keep our Betting Chat Board ticking over, @wynne1938, just missed the Final.

In 5th was one of the most popular guys on the site, @TimmyRaRa.

    image

    In 3rd was @DarkNeo1, completing a UKOPS XX sequence of a 5th, a 4th & a 3rd.

The always hard to beat @ozzieowen was runner-up.

The winner was @Amirush, for his or her biggest ever win on Sky Poker. I note Amirush has wins in both PLO & PLO8 MTT's, so we might see more of this player tonight, as there is PLO8 jobbie this evening. Later last night Amirush finished 2nd to Grumpy Jac in a £3 Rebuy, so a good night one way or another.

UKOPS XX Event # 31, £22.00 entry, £4,000 guarantee Bounty Hunter

The first UKOPS Bounty Hunter of the evening, so it eased over the line - not by much, mind - with 216 entries for a £4,320 prize pool.

@SUPERSNEDD just crept into the money, another cash for @gac123, & the currently irrestible @Sharki0.

    @IRONZ was 12th, sandwiched between @LmfaoAllin & the excellent @loololollo.

    @Damon8 was 6th, @Maoichinnn 5th & 4th was boulton016.

The top 3 were @conga38, @jag727, and top of the pile was Spinny Gold Star man @henners10, adding a win to the runner-up spot he already has in UKOPS XX.

UKOPS XX Event # 32, £55.00 entry, £4,000 guarantee Turbo Bounty Hunter

Somewhat surprisingly, this one missed by 7 entrants (£350), which few would have seen coming. Sky-James has doubtless been summoned.

    image

Amazingly, another deep run for @Sharki0, while @beefheart1 made a 2nd final of the series, which includes a win.

@sabre74 was 5th, @xxxxxxc 4th. I wonder why, when creating that alias, he decided to stick that stray "c" on the end?

In 3rd was @Kerrnal. That's Kerrnal, as in "nuts", not the finger-licking Colonel.

    image

Runner-up @DustoLucko needs no introduction, and is creeping up the Total Player Leaderboard.

Winner @Haydenx37 was making his third Top Ten & 2nd Final Table.

Despite searching extensively, I'm struggling to see how many cashes this man had tonight.

Just imagine, Batesy did worse than Hippo Bloke. There's no greater shame.

Please note - as if it matters - that there will NOT be a Daily Review tomorrow, as I'm going AWOL for the day.

Really pleased for @ctbn on winning event 28. Well done mate. I think it is shocking how much Tikay extracts the Michael out of you. Good job it wasn't a bracelet event though......you would have struggled to get that on one of your fingers B)

Tikay having a day of from the reviews? Half a job springs to mind.

Here is a pic of Tikay, which Richard Orford sent me, just before he went into make up when the Sky Poker channel was still running....
