    UKOPS 01 £2,000 Bounty Hunter 5:00pm £11 £2,000 10 3,000

    Hat-trick hoff, off to a flyer

    Play got under way at 5pm, whilst many were still eating their tea, & nervous eyes in Sky Poker Towers were looking to see if the Guarantee would be covered, perhaps as a portent of things to come.

    Needing 200 runners, it began with barely half that, as is the fashion these days. It looked like missing, creeping up in ones & twos, passing the magic 200 with minutes to spare, & eventually falling over the line with 209. Never in doubt. Ish.

    Almost by tradition, @RogueCell seems to run deep in these early UKOPS without quite winning the cigar, & so it proved, with a heart-breaking Final Table bubble to get her UKOPS started.

    @LitlGenral was 6th, with the much-loved-by-all @IDONKCALLU 5th, & @Sharki0, who did so well in UKOPS XX, 4th.

    In 3rd place was @kapowblamz . If that name rings a UKOPS bell with you it's because, remarkably, in the previous UKOPS just 3 months ago, he won Main Event Bracelets on consecutive nights, not forgetting the £9,000 in prize money. £150 for 3rd in this won't excite him too much, but signals to everyone that he plans to pillage UKOPS again.

    Runner-up was @Dannyxsx , who has a couple of Bounty Hunter wins on his CV, 2nd place here was enough for his 3rd biggest cash on Sky Poker.

    Atop the podium was @Hoff92 , & this player has quite the Sky Poker resume. Notches on his poker belt include 2 Summits, an Avenger, & a PRIMO, but his UKOPS record is the headline - this win puts him in the rare group of players who have won THREE UKOPS Events. His first was back in 2014, the 2nd was almost exactly a year ago today, & now he completes a UKOPS triple crown. Very well done hoff.

    UKOPS 02 £2,500 Bounty Hunter 6:00pm £22 £2,500 10 3,000

    Needing 125 to cover, this one cruised over the line with 151 hopefuls.

    Another good effort from @Sharki0 in 19th, and in 16th place was @Bromley023 . That's Natterley, not Adam, & after Burnley's draw at Old Trafford over the weekend, she'll be a happy bunny. #clarets

    The impressive @Froozle was 13th, with @waller02 rounding off the Top 10.

    @Tspark was 6th, & in 5th - be careful how you say this - was @DUCKFUZZ with the oddly aliased @gringoelci 4th.

    In 3rd was @icanny and @peiratis88 - which sounds like a nasty illness - in 2nd.

    Much mention was made in the UKOPS opener write up about double UKOPS Main Event winner @kapowblamz & here he was again, winning this one for his 3rd UKOPS win in under 3 months, which might well be a record, & don't forget he was 3rd in the opener too.

    UKOPS 03 £3,000 Deep Stack 7:00pm £22 £3,000 10 5,000

    The debate on Sky Poker about Bounty Hunters & Freezeouts continues, so all eyes were on this DeepStack to see if it warranted it's place in the UKOPS festival. Needing 150, it absolutely thrashed the guarantee, collecting 153 runners. Well ok, not thrashed, but I'm allowed a little hype.

    @Red-Dog is not only old but he's old-fashioned so he loves a deepstack, & typically he snuck into the money in 25th, just behind the out of form @MattBates s - he'll not win a penny this UKOPS imo - & son of @StayOrGo , @Limp2Lose. There were small cashes for @heddoh18 & @scotty77 , with @MISTY4ME close up in 10th.

    6th was Forum regular @Blackpuma , with 5th going to @rocky62 & 4th to @Woebegone, not to be confused with Lake Wobegon, the fictional town in Minnesota made famous by the now disgraced Garrison Keiller. Look it up, its a sad tale that.

    Hats off to @Hoff92 aqain, 3rd this time after winning the curtain-raiser.

    Runner-up was @dtaylor01. Wonder if that is Dennis Taylor the snooker player, who likes his poker, & attended SPT Manchester a few years ago?

    The winner was @ALBA8 , breaking huis UKOPS duck, though he has quite a few decent results on his CV.

    UKOPS 04 £15,000 High Roller* 7:30pm £220 £15,000 15 10,000

    Oh boy, Sky Poker got themselves a black eye with this one, missing the Guarantee by a whopping £3,600.

    image

    Tough gig to win, this one, with the great & good of Sky Poker all fancying their chances.

    @NChanning , aka Ambo, who turned 50 just a few weeks ago, was 12th. He held a double 50th Birthday Bash along with Joe Beevers who, amazingly, was born on the same day as Neil. The party was a cracker, with the likes of Ram Vaswani, Andy Ward, Richard Ashby, Keith The Camel Hawkins, Vicky Coren Mitchell & husband David, along with a few elderly has-beens.

    @rspca12, aka dog bloke, was 8th with @SenorBegs 7th.

    @ALBA8 , fresh from winning the previous UKOPS, was 6th, long-time chip leader @Froozle 5th, and @PBKR 4th.

    Hotshot @heddoh18 was 3rd, with @Gambelo , aiming for his 2nd UKOPS win, just coming up shy in 2nd place.

    The winner was none other than @MattBates , who boasts a 40% ROI over a 25,000 MTT sample. Always said he is a luckbox, once he's played a decent sample size that ROI will drop, mark my words.

    UKOPS 05 £15,000 Bounty Hunter 8:00pm £110 £15,000 12 10,000

    And so to the Day 1 Main Event, which beat it's Guarantee cosily, securing 161 runners.

    @rspca12 added a 11th place finish to his evening, a spot behind @IrishRose

    6th was @kwd , behind @AKQPOCKETS and @jubb , who was 3rd in the UKOPS High Roller back in November, and 4th here.

    @BamBam87 was 3rd, just ahead of @FeelGroggy , who was given a shaving kit for Christmas, & hopes to be able to start using it in a year or two.

    Top of the pile, & collecting his 2nd UKOPS win in 15 months was serial winner @gac123 - well done that man. Or woman.

    UKOPS 06 £4,000 Mini Bounty Hunter 8:30pm £11 £4,000 10 3,000

    The Mini reminds me of that Volkswagen advert.....

    image

    And so it proved, with a huge field of 521 eclipsing the Guarantee by some 25%.

    6th was @skyekick06 - try saying that with a mouthful of peanuts - @moods 5th & @chazzer11 4th.

    @TheSaw fretted his way into 3rd - sorry, but dreadful puns are obligatory - with @kris2405 runner-up.

    Pretty sure everyone will be delighted for our winner, none other than @jordz16 . This Gent has won everything there is to win on Sky Poker, but as far as I can see, this was his maiden UKOPS victory. Played over 22,000 MTT's on Sky Poker & boasts a 6 figure profit, which takes a bit of doing. Like so many Sky Poker players, he's been here a long, long time, at least 6 years as far as I can tell. Congrats to him, one of the good guys.

    UKOPS 07 £5,000 Bounty Hunter 9:00pm £22 £5,000 10 3,000

    In something of a surprise, this fell 19 runners shy of the 250 expected. Poor Sky James will no doubt be summoned by Sam The Man The Dad.

    There were repeat cashes on the evening for the likes of @Hoff92 @jubb , @BamBam87 & @PBKR.

    6th went to @adunne with the ever popular @scotty77 in 5th & @smith1408 in 4th.

    @reddog1356 was 3rd & the presumably 34 year old @ben170583 was runner-up.

    Last player standing was @loopyloo43 , adding a UKOPS Mini victory to their Mini UKOPS win just 6 weeks ago. Andy Pandy will be delighted.

    UKOPS 08 £4,000 Turbo Bounty Hunter 10:00pm £55 £4,000 7 5,000

    Surprisingly, this tradit6ional curtain closer missed it's Guarantee by a single runner, who'd have thought?

    @SoLack , having collected a Final Table Jackpot of a few hundred quid over the Xmas holiday, was 18th, with @Itsover4u 15th.

    I so wish @MrDooWop (doo wop, doo wap, doo-oooo wap) had won this, what fun we could have had with that alias.

    @SenorBegs & @PBKR R both ended the evening with another cash.

    Fresh from winning the UKOPS Mini earlier, @jordz16 6 was 6th, and @Neilio123 5th.

    Good to see @MAXALLY in 4th. He played a whopping 42 MTT's & Satellites on Sky Poker last night, and has been here for ever - in fact it seems like longer. More seriously, his game has improved immensely over the years. He's collected a Turbo Open, a Super Roller, and was runner-up in a UKOPS High Roller less than 3 months ago. Keep going Alan, more wins await.

    3rd was @Topdogfish with the irrepressible @loololollo runner-up.

    What a Heads Up it must have been between lool & the boy @FeelGroggy , and this one went to the child prodigy, well done Groggs.

    And so that was that, UKOPS Day 1 was done & dusted.

    Tonight? You bet.

    UKOPS 10 £2,500 Deep Stack 6:00pm £22 £2,500 10 5,000

    UKOPS 11 £3,000 Bounty Hunter 7:00pm £22 £3,000 10 3,000

    UKOPS 12 £1,500 PLO 7:30pm £22 £1,500 10 4,000

    UKOPS 13 £15,000 Bounty Hunter 8:00pm £110 £15,000 12 10,000

    UKOPS 14 £4,000 Mini Bounty Hunter 8:30pm £11 £4,000 10 3,000

    UKOPS 15 £5,000 Bounty Hunter 9:00pm £22 £5,000 10 3,000

    UKOPS 16 £4,000 Turbo Bounty Hunter 10:00pm £55 £4,000 7 5,000

    I'm off out this afternoon, posh Afternoon Tea with Gill up in London, but if we get back in time, might just try my luck at the PLO.

    More poor puns and waffling same time tomorrow.

    Have a great day, & good luck in UKOPS tonight. Oh, & don't bust your bankroll, right? Remember the saying.

    Brilliant write up with accompanying action packed pictures.

    Curiously Volkswagen's share price dropped a little seconds after you mentioned them.
