January Results

Morning all.

2 or 3 players have already posted their January results. Many of us made New Years resolutions for 2018, so lets see how you are getting on.

I'm absolutely convinced that "keeping score" makes a significant difference to our results.

Even if we had a bad month, bare your soul & post the results, it does help. And if you want an example of bad results in January, wait till you see mine, which I'll post today.

If you have any pride - & most of us have - it hurts to post bad results. But you know what pride does, right?

I don't keep score so to speak but I am definitely and ROI addict. Around the end of 2015 someone made a comment about my tournament ROI only being 20% or so... I set out to make a point that I would go past there ROI and then gently drop it into conversation. Iv gone far past there number since but never did mention it at the tables lol. But ROI is a driving factor for me always trying to play well.

As for January it was potentially one of my worst ever months on skypoker - ran horrendously and I mean that in the honest sense of the word. I reviewed hands and could not see any major leaks just 2 outers and 3 outers in key spots over and over.

I had to enforce myself to take a week off from poker completely as it was mentally shattering and instead worked on some game theory.

The ban ended yesterday and we won one and final tabled another so hopefully can have a positive February.

Fortunately I understand just how bad variance can be but regardless of who you are it is human nature to question everything when things are going wrong time after time.

So yeah January was rubbish which means the rest of the year will be great and I can bink the SPT!

    Great post Danny.

Variance can be a proper beast, and it definitely tests our character.

Last January I kicked off with a not so good -3k, so managing to do worse than that would have been an impressive effort. Fortunately this January was a completely different story as I managed a very solid start this time around :) Put in some reasonable volume too so rakeback will be nice

How many points did you hit grogs? I generally play 20nl but as you know venture out to higher sometimes. I managed 13k points this month. Not my best but still really good for me. How ever next month I’m away for one week so will miss priority :(

The start of January started off really bad for me , I think my worst month ever, mainly due to spin ups. Lost quite a bit. But then throughout the month have won it all back and a lot more. So actually ended January with nice profit which I never thought I would have made any.

Do this again for Feb and I might be able to tell you something. Just started a new regime - barely an hour ago - of recording all sessions: prof, number/quality of tables, time, how I played, etc.

Off the top of my head, Jan was okay.

That's good, but if you had any designs on a career in statistical studies, probably best to come up with something else.

    Liked it though.

Off the top of my head.

I gather Diane Abbott went to the same school of maths as you, too.

    Megalolz, Teacakes.

Just you wait four weeks, I'll have statistical analysis coming out of my ears. Probably.

Based on freely available previous information that is easliy collated I believe there is a 34.7% chance of this being correct. Maybe's.

I played 1 day in all of January.

Might do a Devonfish and book the winning year.

Hit a record 15k month for me with the main win here and 3 small to medium wins on other sites, sure it will be a while before that happens again.

Well done on the main win, will you be bankrolling it and moving up stakes or cashing it out to your life roll?

ty m8, I have cashed out some to put away for savings, I am not planning on playing much in the next few weeks, just studding getting ready for Manchester, if I play its only a few Mtts to put in to action what I am learning really, then see how that goes and make a plan.

Got no intension of playing mid or high stakes games I know I wont be able to beat them.

£190.12 profit for January. My target is usually £100 as it is paying off my wedding.
For Feb onwards new target is £600 a month so we can go back next year (we met lots of friends on holiday and we are all going again at same time).

This isn't just poker but includes sports betting and casino winnings.
