Oddly, Jim Cheek tells me that he & I were 1st & 2nd in a Friday Night sidey at a SPT here many moons ago. Not sure I believe him, as he says I won it. Me? I'm more of a chopper.
In a blind on blind coup, the super-shortie, Chris Barnes, finds 6-6 & jams his 6 bigs in, quickly accommodated by Michael Cummings, who also has a pocket pair, but is a tantalising 2 spots behind.
It runs out all higgetty-piggetty, but the bigger pair holds & that's a welcome 2XUp for Chris.
Jim Cheek is trying to impose himself on this Final, & after it is walked to his SB, he sets the BB - Chris Barnes - all in.
Jim was on the move with J-5, but Chris had the beautiful A-K dd.
Jim must have loved the J-J-7 dd flop, so Chris needed a diamond & the board must not pair. Instead, he gets there the hard way with Q-10 for an unlikely Broadway & gets the lot.
So at 0109 on Monday morning, that's it from the Sky Poker Team here of James, Mark & myself.
Been a vey successful event imo, let's hope there are many more.
Next stop is Glasgow, October 12th - 14th.

What a fantastic read this thread is TiKay. So a great many thanks go out to you, James, Mark and everyone at Sky Poker, for putting on, and covering this SPT event in Brighton so well. Also well done to TiKays TA and runner.... Jac, Jacko, Paul, now known as the self-penned 'Ledge' for his update work too.
It has been a wonderful tournament once again...... and sincerely, thank You to everyone who sent me 'Good Luck' wishes too. It meant so much, and obviously helped me enormously in managing to 'ladder up' to 18th..... and along with Roseeeee's 'Lucky Leprachauns', Donna's 'Angel Dust', ..... and a little bit of 'Misty Magic' (not that I'm superstitious!!), but I was truly just happy when I somehow managed to scrape into the cash to pay for the trip, and cover the 'couple of pints' I've drunk, and most importantly, be able to buy my lovely better half a nice little prezzy, to prove to her that sometimes Poker can certainly be a worthwhile hobby

I got back to Cornwall at 2.30am (great journey home with no traffic at all, tho' thick fog for the last 40 miles wasn't much fun), but having read through the whole thread, I just want to reiterate what a FANTASTIC job you and Sky Poker do in putting on, and covering these events, and also please pass on my thanks to everyone at Rendezvous Casino too, they really look after you so well.
Everyone who plays on SKY POKER should really make the effort to either satellite into, or if you can afford to, buy in and play at least one of these SPT events. I promise you all, you won't be sorry. It's just brilliant to meet up with people you play alongside online, and most importantly, so much fun too.
Just an amazing experience once more...... many many thanks and hopefully, long may the SP(S)T events continue.

Joe Fogarty accepts the invitation from Lim Wai Cheung to get it all-in pre.
Joe has the K-J, whilst Lim - or is it Wai? - has two pretty Queens.
It comes a sweat free 8 high affair, though a 7 on the end would have resulted in a straight & a chop chop.
So the very patient Lim Wai Cheung now has a tidy stack, maybe 2 milly or so.

Suddenly, the elephant in the room gets mentioned - "anyone want to discuss numbers?".
So the ICM calculator has been unveiled, & now they are calculating & chatting.
Comical scenes here. After insisting on an ICM deal, the ICM numbers are rejected & they want to negotiate.
So some numbers are pulled out of the air, there seems to be agreement, but then a spanner falls into the works & the discussions get a bit messy.
They continue to talk, with most sentences beginning "no, I want.......".
You really do see the character of players when they start discussing business.
