What games are you playing btw, cos you seem to keep referring to cashing (or not) being a result of these hands so I assume it's DYMs. If it is DYMs then it might be worth considering whether you actually NEED to take these races on the bubble of a DYM Posted by Lambert180
yeah they're all dyms. I know i refer to these hands as making or breaking in terms of cashing and i know that is far from a given but there's a very strong link as the previous day results show.
regarding whether i need to go with these hands or not, apart from the AK vs 10 10 I cant think of any of the others i wouldnt make the same move with. Of the ones i lost:
KK vs A10 - im virtually always happy going in with kk
AQ vs k8 - perhaps avoidable. 6 players left my stack was around 1200 with blinds at 200 and about to go up. Guy who has been away has just came back with a similar stack to myself and shoved - i put him on a lower ace. I was in sb with a solid player behind me who i was confident wouldnt call unless with AA or KK etc. i felt the call and win, should it come, would put me in quite a strong spot to get itm due to a number of stacks being around the 1k - 1.5k level.
99 vs q9. Last 4 of dym with 600 blinds and myself and villain both have similar 2k stacks (low stacks at table). Couldnt put him on anything too serious and probably just stealing. i felt the chance of him having two over cards wasnt high. was more than pleased to get my money in with 1 over 1 under. the fact 1 of his cards was dead made it even better for me.
66 vs K10 - trying to steal and hoping everyone folds but again was in the later stages of dym with high blinds and an all-in or fold situation going on for all players. this one could have been avoided possibly.
AK vs 10 10. DB raised 3 x bb (450) and i was in sb with about 1600. perhaps could have just called but felt he was more likely stealing or had a weaker ace. if he was holding a low pair he might have even fold himself to my reraise.
43 vs kq. low stacked and was an any two shove.
44 vs jj. I hate going with low pair but was low stack at the table and needed to steal.
Apart from 5 of the 15 im 60% fav - which is the perfect spot to get your money in on a dym. Of the 5 im behind, two were coin flips (one being with ak), one was an any 2 shove, 1 was with AQ which is a lovely hand to see in the late stages of a dym and the last one i felt was a necessary steal attempt.
Ps dont want to say this too loudly but just won my two customary lunch time games and my big hands all held up
I had a decent night tonight winning 8 out of 10. Had one go for me and one against me. Kq vs kk and I won hitting a straight and then in one of the games I lost I had 77 vs 72 with him hitting the straight and saw me finish in 5th.
i bubbled the other game I lost. I had a7 which hit two pair on the flop and in trying to double up I gambled and played it slow and unfortunately the other guy hit a flush on the turn and a straight flush on the river. I think if I'd have shoved/raised the flop he would have called anyway as he had a big stack.
In Response to Re: sky poker hates me suddenly!!!: you think your running bad my friend I must be setting records atm. last 8 times with either aa or kk I have lost .last 6 flopped sets lost them all to flushes. past three flushes opponent rivered f/h and even 2 f/h s beaten by better f/hs . oh and did I mention nine yes nine times I have got it on on flop with top top opponent has been on a draw and hit including the mini just now . bad luck must be my middle name when will it end
