if your serious about, worst case scenario your 19 it doesnt work out you find a career and get your life back on track.

But for th love of the gods please dont refer to yourself as a poker pro or a semi pro... your either a full time self sufficient player or your not. "pro" has nothing to do with nything imo.

If i were you and serious about it, i would get a job cleaing toilets or whatever else you can get easily nowadays, work 90days straight, use 100% of the money earnt on poker and aim to be grinding out SNE at stars and use that as an opportunity to travel the world donking around in the 10K-20K MTTs...without playing midstakes or a good loyalty grind forget using poker to be self sufficent.

Seriously, dont wast your time paying rake in the mircos, study hard, throw your life into it and dont forget to live it at the same time!!

I never said i'm a pro or anything like that lol?

I just said in an earlier post that i have no intention of getting a job or anything like that, i have no motivation for that at all lol. Poker is the only thing i've ever had motivation to do in my entire life.

All that good advice, then it turns out you're a useless scroaty waster who will never amount to anything in life. Just go and enjoy your benefits and your council house for the next 60 years!

HEY, YOU LIVE IN THIS COUNTRY SO YOU SHOULD GO AND KILL PEOPLE FROM THAT COUNTRY BECAUSE WE TOLD YOU TO, SAY NO AND YOU'RE DEAD

    seems fair

nothing wrong with that, i dont have a problem with people who claim dole if there looking for work, but to say i have no intention of ever getting a job is quite disgusting im my book. its a pretty sad life with no money though and im sure id rather get a job than live of what ever pounds and pennies you get at the job centre.

for a start you will need about 10K as a starting bankroll. Then, if you want to play live games you will need transport to casinos all over the country. then there are hotel bills to consider.
Or you could do as people I know do. Play 6 tables at a time on-line. Cash games. For at least 8 hours a day, most days.
If you can play Omaha-hi-lo well you will probably make money as most players are not good at that form of poker.
Another route into the pro game is sponsorship. But to get the backing you would need to demonstrate a very good track record.
I would advise you to play part time for a good while yet, 8 months experience is nothing. ( I have been playing 41 yrs) Then, if you do very well, look for sponcorship to start with.

    whatever you do good luck

Aaaaaah **** it. Just wrote a long long reply and it timed me out, i really cannot be bothered writing it all again haha. One thing you have got to know about me though is that i am a lazy, good for nothing ******* and proud of it lol. I have no intention of ever getting a job, i have no motivation whatsoever, and i absolutely detest having to put effort and commitment into anything. But all those things go out the window when it comes to poker, for the first time in my life i'm actually motivated to do something lol. That was the main point in the long paragraph i had just typed out, i will answer the other questions another time haha.

Skeg say you did seriously do this, don't you think after a while you would soon get bored and the points highlighted would apply to poker as well? I'm assuming you live at home and parents support you-dont have to pay rent? if so i would definetly say just get a part time job doing something anything and plough it all into poker.

Whilst i was doing my A-levels- I worked in a supermarket and then a linen factory. Then when i dropped of of uni the first time i went, i came home jobless managed to get a job at a school as a learning support assistant (had to volunteer for 2 months first before i got a paid job due to lack of experience). Whilst i have been at uni i havn't needed a job, but last summer i moved and stacked hay bails for a couple of months at a farm. Basically my point is that apart from the the school job all of them jobs i had absolutey no motivation to do, i detested the effort i had to put  feeding linen into machines, stacking shelves and lugging hay bails, but it allowed me to do the things in life i enjoy doing and also gave me a sense of perspective, you have to work hard to do the things you want to do in life, they dont just come too you. There must be something you have a passion for apart from poker?

Anyway this post is not aimed as a criticism in anyway- more just a sense of perspective from someone similar in age, good luck if you do decide to every really give it a go..

    What happened to the diary..?

If you detest putting commitment and effort into anything, you simply won't make it as a "poker pro". That requires a lot of effort outside the actual playing of the cards to get good enough to make a living playing the game.
