Thanks for the mention. While it's good to see upward movement in your balance I have to point out that you're playing with fire at those stakes. No matter how well you play you'll still lose several HU matches in a row sometimes, everybody does, even the best of the best. You need to keep out of those games, it's a recipe for disaster. Oh I know Gary, I've thrown away waaaaaaay too much money in this way before, that was the main reason for doing a bankroll challenge, to stop myself doing these stupid things!

in which case it isn't working, is it?
I find it easier to ban myself from doing something than being careful with it. given your recent history you should immediately ban yourself from playing ANY HU game. If you don't want to burn yourself, stay away from the fire!
I know I'm very far from perfect and that by far the biggest leak in my game in tilt and specifically a lack of discipline. By writing it down in it's gory detail here for myself and anybody else who reads it to see, the hope is that I can stamp it out as this aside, I'm a very profitable player.
Decent day at the pokerz today played 2 Holdem MTT's and cashed in both, a 1st and just finished 3rd in the £250 gtd speed re-buy.
Played a couple of the £1.10 Omaha MTT's that Tikay has been pushing and ran absolutely awful in those but all in all a good return for the day.
After failing to cash in all 3 DTD games last night, it's good to get back on track.
My C4P from last month was also paid today (only about £16.00) so I had a little bet on the horses which went as badly as most of my gambling endeavours do!
I'm struggling to find time to update on the other targets but will try over the next few days, suffice to say, NOT WELL!
Tonights results also mean that I am now rolled to play £3.30 MTT's, which is great news for me as I've always found these pretty profitiable. I am also now rolled to play one table of NL4 so I'll be giving this a shot from time to time too.
Completely disobeyed my own BR rules again tonight, but only because Tikay was playing some 5/10 Omaha tables so I decided to have a go.
Really enjoyable time and played in a great spirit and unbelievably I even managed to make a bit of profit! Really hope that Tikays efforts can manage to drum up a bit more interest in the game on the site, it really is great fun to play.

OK, so I guess I better get around to updating the more interesting 2/3rds of this thread and the bit that I've been avoiding so far as in all fairness it's not been going well....
Firstly the diet, this started really, really well in the first few days and I actually lost 3 pounds in the first couple of days. Unfortunately it quickly went downhill as I had to go away for 2 days with work which involved socialising with colleagues, meals out in restaurants and inevitably a few drinks at the bar so the initial work was quickly undone! I then had a long weekend away with a group of old friends which is always a recipe for overindulgence and I didn't disappoint, much beer, wine and incredibly fattening food was consumed. On the plus side, I did manage to get out for two mountain bike rides over the weekend totalling around 40miles altogether, so not all bad!
Then, after a great weekend I managed to put my back out messing about trying to jump over increasingly wide sections of a ditch (boys really do never grow up!). So that has put the kybosh on any further exercise for at least a week while I hobble around looking like I'm in desperate need of a long sit down on the porcelain throne as I've been told quite hilariously by my 'friends'. You know what it's like when your in pain and a little miserable about it, the only real way to make it better is to eat pizza.... so suffice to say the diet could be going better!
Starting weight - 15st 4 Current weight (after last nights pizza) - 15st 7 (ooooops!)
And so to the alcohol challenge...... Again, this could have gone a lot better and may go some way to explaining why the weight loss has gone so appallingly. As above, a great start, then I had a works do which meant a few beers on day 2 and 3, then away to Norfolk for a weekend away and ALOT of beers consumed for the following 3 nights. Unfortunately I had a few cans left over from the weekends stocks so also enjoyed a couple on Monday night whilst playing the DTD tournaments on Sky, all of which means that from the first 8 days of my challenge I actually consumed some form of alcohol on 6 of them in a row, who said I have no will power! Tuesday and Wednesday, no beers consumed so hopefully back on track!
So in the 1st 10 days - 4 days without alcohol (I actually feel a little ashamed as I write this)
So overall summary of the 3 challenges after 10 days:
Poker Bankroll: +£71.43 Weightloss: +7lbs Alcohol free days: 4
If I carry on at this rate, I may need some kind of lifting gear to get me out of the house by the time I complete the challenge!
Well yeah that's a really good start.... but target number 1 was good BRM and you've already played £10 and £16 HU SnGs lol.
But yeah, with the others, it's always gonna be tough with work nights out, and gatherings of any sort. I can't remember, are you playing SPT Dublin? At least ya can't drink at the table there
Really horrible night tonight, just stone cold bubbled a 2.20 deepstack which I played pretty much perfectly, suffered a couple of horrible beats in the late stages and then on the final table and cash bubble this happened which really annoyed me, the two players involved had been chatting like they knew each other, I only folded as I know the limper has to call given stack sizes.

Am I just being paranoid or does this look odd to anyone else?

As for improving discipline, very disappointing, must try harder! Might have to have a beer to make me feel better
