Haha. Thanks guys. You can see why I wanted the hand shown on tv now! You make notes on players and after playing him for a while, when the hand played out as it did I had to trust that my reads were right and go with it! One for the scrapbook for sure Posted by gazza127
great hand. my first post on here (i think)....just migrated from other sites to play more on sky, only played a little to date.
would be interested to know your notes on this player...MIKEY is a good friend of mine from same town, he is a well known player in Ireland and was a big winner on various other sites before switching to sky this year. I must ask him about that hand as he probably would not watch skypoker tv or be on the forum.
hope to contribute to the forum and community and looking forward to playing on sky a lot from new year....prob start at 20nl and odd tourney, see you at the tables folks!
I think you both played it really well, luckily you were able to fire the decisive shot. You seemed to both know exactly where you were in the hand, but you were able to pull the final trigger.

Welcome to the community! Honoured that your first post is on my thread
Notes on the player? I had a fair few but dont really want to spill them all out on a public forum. Lets just say the words 'serial trapper' and 'passive' are mentioned so things get really suspiscious when he starts shovelling money in! A lot of history before also played a big part in the hand.
Would love to know what he thought of the hand. I had to show the bluff after... if only just to annoy him and maybe get paid in a hand i shouldnt get paid in later on .
Good luck with moving over to sky. Im sure i'll see you on the tables.
Nice to see you back to winning ways. Poker is a bit like that, swingy! I would say don't withdraw and keep going, just be aware that your playing at levels that can be very swingy for big lumps of cash. enjoy Posted by rancid
Cheers mate. Its one of those things - keep it all in and ride variance a bit better when it goes the other way orrrrr withdraw another 1k (2k in total for a couple of weeks) and use it to travel over to NZ in the Summer.

I only said don't withdraw as you didn't mention any plans! If you want to go to NZ (the most beautiful country I've ever been to) then let poker pay for it and get withdrawing!

Oh go on then. Hit me with some figures from London to Auckland at almost any time next year. I'm planning to go for near enough 3 weeks. 18-21 days probably... hoping not to get much, if any overlap on the World Cup.
I started well in the main picking up two bounties early doors but couldnt capitalise on my early progress to make a min cash. Got down to about 11bb and shoved A8 v Q10 bvb to get knocked out.
Regged for both £55 BHs... played rubbish in both and didnt pick up anything from either tournament.
So naturally I go and sit on the cash tables. I had managed to reclaim the BI's from the nights MTTs fairly quickly. Its amazing what people will call you with when they don't believe you. Really feel like im playing my best poker on the cash tables at the minute. Either that or im running golden, but I haven't really taken a flip and seem to get paid in a lot of places where I shouldnt. Ithink im just picking the right spots and I have definitely got the right table image. Yes I can lose a BI running a bluff... but if I get 2 back through people seeing this and not believing me in the next big pot its surely not a bad thing.

So out of a -£150ish day on the MTT tables, I somehow pulled through a £100 profit overall.
With that in mind i've decided to reassess poker in the coming month. I've withdrawn everything from my Sky Poker account and have capped my depositing to the minimum possible. I'm solely going to be playing with my C4P this month, which if I remember correctly is between £100-150 somewhere. With my downswing in full momentum and confidence shattered im dropping way down stakes til I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. So if im playing cash, its most likely 4nl and if im playing tournaments its unlikely to be with BIs of any higher than a fiver and some satellites. Think this is for the best. I still want to play poker but sticking with the stakes I am is going to get a bit ridiculous if the swing continues. I need to slow it somewhat and feel this is the best way to do it. So yeah. C4P is my BR this month. I'll see if I can build it up and potentially not have to redeposit.... and if I lose it, meh it was free money and its definitely less than I would have lost otherwise. Weirdly optimistic about this... Posted by gazza127
Wow. That was on the 5th of November... 5 weeks ago.
That £124 I got from my Poker Rewards is now £3.5k.

I've just took a massive £250 hit on cash. All going well at one point... I was £100 up and then got the best part of £130 in with KK on a 457 flop. He had 56 and binked another 5 on the river.
So that was -£30 at the time... I lost another £70 playing like an idiot, then managaed to claw it all back.
Queue the massive cooler.
99 v KK.
Flop. K 9 x
That was on a mastercash nl100 table. £250 gone just like that. Kablamo!
Still... The roll is still OK. Not like the days of old where £250 was half my roll. Head up. Continue forward.
Lets just hope this isnt the start of a little downswing.
This is exactly what I did last time I got up to this level. I've decided to do exactly what I did at that time... withdraw back down to £1k and start again.
Its just irritating as I got to the Final Table in the top 2 in both tournaments and the cards just turned on me. I remember one hand which I played bad and lost a chunk in the £22 BH but there was little I could do otherwise.
Couldnt do anything about turbo exit hand. Everyone was sitting with circa 10bb. I found A5 bvb and jammed. Ran into AK. NH GG.
Exit hand in BH was KQ v A7.
So yeah... was annoyed I couldnt get that big cash to kick start my BR again but I suppose I would have taken +£100 at the beginning of the night so theres that I suppose.
Playing the rebuy tomorrow. I haven't played it in yonks. Looking forward to it as it is my favourite main of the week. I just havent played many mains at all recently... but will definitely take advantage of the double guarentee tomorrow.
Giving cash a break. I've grinded 6k points on cash this month. Yes I could continue and hit priority, but i dont see it happening. I'm not going to play much around christmas so theres not much point battling to reach priority when its unlikely I'll get there with fewer playing days this month.
Just going to take it easy with MTTs for the next few weeks and reassess in the new year.
Ul last night on not having any big binks Gazza, always annoying to go very deep and not get a decent score. Remember though, you don't NEED a kick start to your BR, well not unless you continue to with crazy BRM. As long as you keep yourself away from 50/100NL then you should be fine, if you wanna carry on playing them levels then you shouldn't have withdrew cos no-one can keep just doing sick spin up after sick spin up.
But if you're sticking to MTTs it shuold be all good... short of a BIG downswing. As Tommy has said to me, you should play as many of the £11 BHs as possible, theres 5 every night, think it's like 7:45pm, 8:15pm, 9:30pm, 11pm, 11:30pm.

Dont want to talk about it.

I think your account has been hacked mate. There's some guy on 2 NL50 tables right now under your username.
He's got 2 pretty decent stacks tho.....
