Yet another 'new PC' thread.

Hello.

I've found a couple of old threads, but they confuse me. Theyr'e quite old and some of the links have expired.
There might be better value out there now.

If I just post what I'm after hopefully sum1 can suggest 1 and I'll go with it.

I already Have

Monitor
Keyboard
Mouse

Need

The tower thing that goes with it.

Must be able to

Run 12 sky tables, spotify and skype at the same time.

I also normally use a wireless network adapter to get the internet on it. I assume this will work on all PCs? but I'm a total noob, so no question too stooooopid!

Also need to plug in headsets etc.

Must cost

Around 250-300 quid. Unless there's a very good reason to pay more!

Must not have

Windows 8 ! Been warned that this is very different, and being a Yorkshireman I hate change. Windows 7 is fine ty.

Must be delivered within

2 weeks TOPS and be from a reliable company.

The last one I ordered was from MESH, I was told 2 weeks for delivery and it ended up taking over 3 months.

I really really really don't want this to happen again.

Thanx in advance for replies.
Appreciate it if the mods give this an afternoon in GPC also ty :)

He probably can but tbh Donaldo that sounds like a ton of far ting about.

I've seen comps similar to what Im after for about 300 notes. I'd rather just do that and have them delivered and ready to plug in and use asap!

most commercial sales will come with the bits you have
to get the extra value you probably need to go to a specialist supplier
build your own probably not good value at your price point as you will need to pay retail price for Windows7 (agree not to touch win8)

In general pc prices have gone up in the last year as more touch screen, lap top & tablets are reducing tower sales.
Also wait a week might (probably not) get some deals as 4th gen intel(haswell) is due for release.

Avoid Windows 8 at all costs, it's awful, I used it for the first time over the weekend on my Dads new touchscreen laptop and hated it, as does he.

There are apps you can down load to give a start button/task bar like windows 7.
Also windows 8 is getting a revamp due late june to 8.1  see link

Cheers for replies so far, pretty much everyone has told me to avoid W8.

downloading stuff to help me use 8 isn't an option, im totally useless with anything like that I'd rather just pay extra if I had to to have it all come ready to use.

cheers for the link BH, those r what I'm after, hopefully find a machine, have it +1'd by 2/3 ppl who know what they're doing, and then I can click BUY.

Hopefully by the end of the day.....gulp......

    Keep rec's coming ! :D

Key things are dedicated graphics, processor and harddrive.

So, look for something like i5 minimum, 2gb dedicated graphics min, and a decent SSD if you can.

Ugh people who complain about Windows 8! It's the easiest thing in the world to figure out! It just doesn't have a start button! There's honestly hardly any difference

but it's still be held responsible for a fall in global PC sales

on a par with "new coke" as franchise disasters

pretty sure you can very easily find alot more 'sexy' things on the internet with google than a windoze product.

I preferred the Windows 1 GUI if I'm honest. 1980's GUIs roolz.

8's GUI can be tweeked to look like 7's. I don't mind 7's now I've got used to it.

But you're right about the AIDS thing. Except you could delete the "8" from that sentence.
