Tikay's WSOP Main Event Update thread - Day 2A from Page 8

So we are finally here.  After years of coming to the WSOP as an updater, railer and as a 'mentor', the time has finally come for Tikay to play in the World Series of Poker main event.

Gonna be here updating all day, and hopefully for multiple days!

All messgaes of support greatfully received.  On Day 1, the WSOP  don't publish table draws, so sadly we can't do any background info on his table mates....fingers crossed we get to do that on day 2.

It's just kicked off right now, and it will be a bit of a zoo in the corridors, but I'll make my way to Amazon Room Orange Table 366 to get some pictures in a minute...also as part of my job I will be on latte duty so gonna be off to the coffee shop in a bit.....

Right so the plan is to update regulary on Tikays chip stack, any major hands, any 'faces' around the room and get some pictures too.

Make sure that you make it a skinny latte as he can't tell the difference

Also, two sweeteners, no need for three as he asks for

As the photos take a while to approve, gonna upload them to TinyPic.

So here is the Amazon Room.  It is just 1 of the 3 main rooms and it is where all the day 2/3s and final tables are played out in.  The size of the room is tough to put into words and IMO its something that every poker player should strive to experience at sometime in their lives.

And here is Tikay wearing the badge with pride.  There seems to be 3 away stacks with 1 or 2 of the stacks left in the 'well' for the dealers to give to late registrations.  Every tournie here is so well planned that they nominate a couple of the same seat numbers on every table for late registrations that make it such a smooth process.

For those of you who don't know what the main event is....

    Its a 10,000$ buy in.....

You get 30,000 in starting chips....

    With a 2 hour clock....

In recent years the numbers have been between 6 and 7 THOUSAND players....

The winner will walk away with something like 8 or 9 MILLION dollars....

And of course this (taken from WSOP official site)
