In case you missed it, there's a new promotion from Sky Bet, the 'Free Bet Club'. See here for full detail and T&Cs, but fora quick overview...
Qualify each week - Place a £5 accumulator on any sport with combined odds of 5/1 or more before midnight Sunday. Free Bets - Your £5 free bet will then be credited by 7pm Monday for you to use on any sport. Missed a week? - If you miss a week you're out! Place a £10 accumulator to get back in to the Club.
Could we get clarification of how many selections need to be made for it to be considered an "accumulator" for the purpose of this promotion? Thanks Posted by calcalfold

Is this really a promotion or just another way of the bookie bashing the punters? I am gonna try this for a few weeks to see if its worthwhile. Otherwise, I will simply use other bookmakers who invariably offer better odds.
Sorry sky in my opinion, there was a deliberate reasoning behind this promo taking nearly 2 months to roll out because quite frankly its another example of sky diminishing the value it offers its customers.

Not sure I agree with this. Place a £5 bet on an acca every single week... get it back win or lose. Whats the issue?
Maybe the odds on sky are bested by others, but the promotion here is something I havent seen elsewhere and I quite like the idea of it. You only have to win 1/5 of your accas to guarentee profit... something which is very achievable if you dont go crazy sticking a 10-fold on each week, with the added bonus that you get your stack back to bet on what you would have been betting on anyway. Win/win.

You'll have to run good to get positive results over that sample. You're expected to win maximum once every 6 weeks over time, hence 5/1.
Great promo, any chance of unblocking my skybet exclusion? I knew I'd regret it

You dont get it back, you get a free £5 bet. If you back an evens shot, then you win £5 not £10 as normal as sky wont give you credit for the initial stake. Finding a 5/1 accumulator is easier said than done. When you do the maths, you are probably better off using other sites because the return when you win will be greater.
Under the old rules, you had to bet £10 a day to get a £1 stamp which could be used for free bets up to £20 or have £20 knocked off your sky bill. Because sky didnt carry out any due dilligence when they put this promo out, it was possible to back a live event where the outcome was a certainty, eg back arsenal to win in the last minute vs spurs when they are winning 5-2.

IMO based on your publicised tips this is +ve. Will save you money in the long run being excluded!

How long you got left to serve, Doh? 1.5yrs, 3.5 to go for me In the same camp sadly. I want to degennnnnnnnnnnuhhhhhhh
I originally didn't like this promotion but its growing on me. If you tend to bet £5 per week in others bets (which I do) then surely it's just a freeroll accumulator every week?! that can't be a bad thing. Posted by jdsallstar
Its only a freeroll if your free bet wins ! So you need to find an evens shot every week to be cash neutral. Of course when you bink your accy its happy days. I dont think peeps understand how the free bet works.
It's a freeroll whether u win or not Gooner. Is the priority freeroll only a freeroll if you cash? Just seen this in my profile thing btw. "Your account block has expired. Over or under on the self exclusion again by the end of the w/end?

Still dont see the issue here. Its basically getting a free shot at a 5/1 acca each week which i see no issue with.
RE bolded bit: I work in a company which specialises in football and betting... in fact im the head analyst so i'd like to know what this maths includes.
I see it as:
You have £20 to play with each week. You bet £5 on an acca at 5/1. Pay out £25 if you win (inc stake). If you lose you get £5 free bet.
Balance if win £40 + £5 free bet.
Balance if lose £15 + £5 free bet.
If youve lost, put the £5 bet on something you might be betting on anyway at say evens.
Balance if win £20 assuming initial stake is lost.
Balance if lost £15.
I just dont see the quarms with this promotion. If you are placing accumulators anyway then you are getting a second free bet to try and get your stake back. If you aren't then ignore the promotion.
RE the finding 5/1 difficult.... seriously? Three games at evens will do it.

Im sure they are trembling in their boots, you're right about the freeroll but I cba to explain myself !
Sky, is it just one free bet maximum? Or is it say 3x accumulators that meet the requirements you get 3x £5 free bets? I looked at the T&C and can't see anything.

How do you work out odds again?
If it's £1 3 evens.
£1 would be £2if team a wins. £4 in team 2 wins, £8 if team 3 wins, minus £1 so this is 7-1?
My dad taught me when I was a kid but have forgotten lol, is it something like plus 1 for all bets, times them, and minus 1?

Thanks

Sounds like a good promo.
Never been in the betting bit of the forum but might give it a go for tips, on a 3-4 team accumulater.
Or might just do it on one of my threads lol
