Taking you through it all will be...

Richard Orford

...and my co-host is

Live coverage from the 8K Turbo Open – Late stages (final table)

Meanwhile, get all your banter, questions, hand requests etc. to us either on this thread, via email skyopen@bskyb.com or via Twitter #skypoker

And here's our topic of the night...

WHAT WAS THE EXACT MOMENT YOU FELL IN LOVE WITH POKER?

Was it love at first sight? Did your eyes meet across a smoky casino? Was it an on-off affair? Was it something on the side for a while but eventually became your main love?

Did you need to outright win a game before you got the bug? Or just cash for the first time? Did it take minutes or years before you finally fell head over heels?

Spill the beans on your Cupid's arrow moment with the game and I'll read them all out on the show throughout the night.

Good luck with that and the DOUBLE Turbo and see you Tuesday!

Poker has always appealed to my analytical mind. I used to play chess a lot when I was a kid, and sometimes - although the games are very different - I think poker is an extension of that.

As for when it began: I used to play 'sweet stakes' with my friend a while back. We didn't have much money to throw around, but it didn't matter, because there was nothing more satisfying than pushing in and taking him down for a tube of Rolos or a carton of Um Bongo.

What was the exact moment that I fell in love with Poker?

Erm.  Gradual progression for me.  I used to win all the home games against my mates a few years ago... The idea of having a fun night with friends AND being able to make £30 AND have bragging rights - well thats just the best thing ever isnt it?

I dont think you can really say the same for any other game/sport - not one that I can think of anyway.

I used to play on another poker website when I was about 18 playing $5 sng's and I made a couple of hundred quid at them but it wasn't until I played a live event that I really got the bug.

A friend of mine said there was a poker tournament in a bar near us and asked me to go play for a bit of fun. Now this bar without doubt was and still is one of the roughest in the area (loads of paramilitary guys prob in it - the owner was one anyway lol) and so as an 18 year old I wasn't too sure about going to begin with. Talk about playing scared poker lol There was about 60 people playing and I ended up finishing 2nd winning about £200 or something. Expecting to be mugged as soon as I got out the door I was out of there quicker than roadrunner on steroids when the cash was handed over! Anyway that's how I got the bug!

REALLY looking forward to the main event tonight, have been eyeing this one up since I heard about the double guarantee - the Turbo Open is an event I usually run well in so I'm expecting to at least cash. Fingers crossed.

Hello Rich and Reds hope you have a good show tonight.

I played 3 card brag from leaving school in the 70s venues changed over the years as it was unlawful in those days to gamble in pubs but I always managed to find a game when I fancied one.
Went for many years not gambling mortages  kids etc then saw poker night live on the TV which kick started my gambling and addictive nature. Joined the site where play was covered by PNL had many hands reviewed and steadily improved and fell in love with the game at this point. I have never played live other than a session in my local barbers believe it or not.
I joined sky in the early days and have played on and off here for the last 6 years mainly low stakes, work got in the way for a while but I would always take the time to keep up with forums on here and watch the shows.

Keep up the good work guys.

    Have a good show, rich.

    I wont be watching.

Fell in love with poker playing a free blackberry app, made a virtual billion and decided to try the real thing.  No billions yet though...

    Cheers,

Great responses so far- well played all.

    Now- exciting news.

    Tonight we're running another...

To be in it, all you have to do is register your interest either here on the forum or via Twitter with the hashtag skypoker.

If you're signed up to Twitter, it's free and takes moments.

You must have registered your interest before the start at 8pm, even if you haven't gotten around to registering for the actual event, or are trying to satellite in. It doesn't matter, as long as you get into the game before late reg finishes and you've entered the last longer comp by 8pm.

The winner will get free-rolled into Thursday's main event, which now has a double prizepool. It's the £20,000 Sky Sports Bounty Hunter!

It was definitely love at first sight for me, the very first time I saw Late Night Poker on channel 4 back when I was about 14 I knew I loved the game. Gonna sound cheesy but I lost my love for years after that just not playing/watching or anything, then when I was 23 I stumbled across the Sky Poker channel and I remember that first episode was all about one of the Total Player stages... that's where my love was reawakened and hasn't gone away since.

    Have tweeted for the LL.
