In Response to Re: Looking to be a money maker... : You did notice the flop was 578s rite? Not only could he be "connected" he could be a "made guy"! (Donnie Brasco) ;-) Posted by Glenelg
With the tightness of the table I could not see the opponent connecting with the flop ... possibly flush draw
Say you was the opponent ... you have AA's ... can you call those bets on that board ... ignore the 7s because we both have that minimum
I was going to comment on some earlier hands and suggest you raise more with your premium hands (AA and KK) , but i see you did this time and it din,t pay off. At these levels where you seem to be getting more callers i,d probably start shoving with my premiums if i was confident of getting a call.
Always good to see someone happy even when there losing . Shows you,ve got good BRM
The A 7 i,d be betting the flop just to find out where i was and there are plenty of hands the oppo could be chasing a str8 or a flush with. If he flats and the turn is a brick for the draws i,d shove with the ace
The AQ - Good call. You got it all in - in front. Nothing you can do . Just unlucky
The K 5s - I quite like the shove but with 2 to act and at this level where your more likely to get callers i,d wait for a better spot
The KK - Would just shove as if there going to call that they,d probably call the shove as well
Theres a lot more players who can give better advice than me though especially in the poker clinic so if your really not sure about whether you,ve made the right decision i,d post it there along with any reads you,ve picked up on the other players as its such a big part of the game and what you should be basing a lot of your decisions on
K5s, standard spot, easy ship and unfortunate to run into a bigger K. The blinds can't call very often which is why we should be moving in here with actually quite a decent hand.
Ditto for AQ, far too strong a hand blind on blind to consider folding without specific reads.
KK - it's difficult to criticise the pre flop play as you got someone to call you with A10 in a vastly inflated pot. All I would say is that better villains should realise just how strong that raise is out of that stack after all that action. I would probably just shove pre to disguise the strength of my hand. As played, we should NOT be shoving that flop; we only get called when behind. It's frustrating when we have KK and the A falls but with 2 oppo's it's highly likely that A has hit one of them.
A7 - Unless I knew SB would sometimes just call with premium hands, I probably go all in pre and fully expect to win the pot uncontested.
Just seen that these are S n G hands, not a format of the game I play really so perhaps take the above with a bag of salt!
