Well last night I played 3 MTT's. £200 gtd £1000bh and the mini bh. I took 2 bounties in the £1000 so my total buy ins were £12.99. I ran quite deep in the £200 gtd. The mini was mental. Bingo players everywhere. I got QQ cracked by K6 off and 86 suited in the same hand. trip 6's for each villain. What range can you put a player on when he will call limp/call utg with K6 off?????
Slightly better news, I decided to try the "spin £5 into £200 on the cash tables". I sat for the first level on master cash 2 with my fiver and turned it into £22.61 for a profit of £17.61. In doing this I hit my first ever ROYAL FLUSH. The crazy thing is the guy I beat in the hand hit a royal flush himself about 15mins later.
I only played in the £300 bh this morning. I played really solid and patient. Finally got rewarded by getting a spewy chip leader to my left. Managed to outplay him on several occasions, I went from 4k to about 15k and collected his bounty. All in all I took 6 bounties for £14.68 and finished 3rd for £20.56. Giving me a total profit of £29.49. I played my big stack really well and when it got short handed I feel I had the measure of the players and made good notes.
I eventually had to rush as the tournament when we got down to the last 3 as it took a while longer than usual and I had to get back to work lol. Probably cost me about £40 if I'd have won.
Pleased with a bit of profit the last 2 days after treading water for a week.
br £422.15
Think I might try level 2 of the cash challenge tomorrow.
mixed day at the office today. entered 2 bounty hunters and got nowhere. shoved over a 3 bet with AK and got called by 77, needless to say 77 held. in the other i got a horrendous bad beat. i had a complete manic to my left limp/calling with anything. i raised JJ and got called by the maniac. flop came 467 with 2 diamonds. i check raised all in due to my reads and he called with 10 8 off and he didnt even have 1 diamond. the 5 on the river sickened me. Then to cap it off i got stacked at cash for £20 when i ran 2 pair into a set. however that was my fault i could have definitely got away from it. ALthough i did reload and claw back £14 of it. bankroll now back nearly where i started lol£406.50
Well it was till I got stacked for £20 by some complete fish, cant remember his name, was something really stupid like Lambert180. (only kidding mate nh wp gg)

Bad play on my part?
Anyway, that meant I left the cash tables a total of £22.04 down.
Then I entered £150 and £300 bh. Took 3 heads in the £150 but didn't cash so made £0.09p lol
took 2 heads in the £300 for £5.15 and finished 4th for a cash of £19.66
So if I hadn't have run into Lambert180 I would have had a profitable day. as it happens im £2.89 down. Oh well, played well in the tourneys.
Lambert's raised 80p pf that's a danger sign. he's re-raised you on the flop, that's another danger sign. not sure about the all-in on river either. you've lost £15 with a 9 high hand.

yeah sorry mate, turn not river. fair play, don't think he's folding though. tptk (this is where you need to have good notes on players too, imo) better shoving on flop imo, with 2 cards to come.( better still fold... even hitting our 9 high flush won't always be good) nice effort though would you make the same play holding 2 pair or trips? deffo looks like u r on flush draw to me.(in which case Lambert is right to call, I think) I don't play nl20 mate, so maybe it's a different game to the one I play at nl4, so don't listen to my advice. why not post hand up in poker clinic? see what they say there. best wishes, dev
Played a 3 £11 MTTs at the weekend. (bad br management) Didn't do anything. Crazy bingo poker (Friday Saturday night late on).
Won £7.80 in a £50 timed. And won £7 in a speed BH. Also finished 3rd today in£150 BH and a couple of heads for £8.74
Due to the 4k freeroll triple thingy promotion ive been playing a bit more cash to get some PP's as I don't play high volume MTT's (or cash) I seem to get more point playing cash 10p/20p.
Trying to get 1000 points to qualify for the 1st one. Currently got 160.
The cash has been up and down. Was £86 profit after 3 session but then lost 3 £20 buy ins in my next 2 sessions. Rivered a straight on a paired board and ran into the full house, and the same player raised me after I 3bet KK pre on a 967 board I shoved over his cbet (very agro player) and he showed 55. 8 on the river. Standard.
Lost £11.72 as well today.
So in total after playing fri and sat night plus sunday daytime and today I am a MAAAAAAAASIVE £4.82 up.
Entered the £150 bh. Finished nowhere but got 2 heads so it only cost £1.04p
£300 bh. Ran very well, played well. Got it in behind a couple of times but with good equity (had open ended straight plus nut fl draw and KQ spades vs AK off on a K high board with 2 spades- hit fl).
Managed to take it down. Finished 1st for £61.27 and took 5 heads for £25.71.
Total profit for tourney £81.23
Happy days. First take down since the start of the diary.
WELL PLAYED SHAUN.. NOW GET ON A RUN Posted by devonfish5
Cheers mate, much appreciated. Yeah would be nice. I've been treading water a bit since I started my diary. Might stay away from the cash for a week and see how my points build up playing MTT's. I only usually hit about 600-700 points in a month but I'm aiming for 1k this month for the 4k freeroll. Hence a dabbled in cash last week. My cash game is good at lower stakes but I do have a tendency to be very up and down with it.
Again, thanks for the diary railing mate. Nice to know somebody is reading it.
no worries, I'm sure many more do pop in for a read but don't always post. anyway, don't you worry about that, just concentrate on doing the right things on the poker tables, and I'm sure you will be fine. good luck mate, dev
To be fair, me raising to 80p (4x) is what I'd do with 100% of my range when I see a limper, I'm either raising to 4x or folding. I'd advise against you limping at all.
Me raising the flop does make it likely I've got a better hand than you but that's not surprising because at the moment you have 9-high. I'd prefer to check to the aggressor (me), let me bet, and then raise, cos then you can get me to fold all the hands I'd cbet like AQ/AJ/AT/QJ/QT/Q9 to name a few.
As played when you shove the turn it looks a lot like you have exactly the kind of hand you had but you have alot of outs and if I'm you I probably don't intend on folding at any point now. Again though if you check, let me bet and then shove, you'll pick up more money on the times where I don't have a hand strong enough to call.

Yeah I agree. Like Dev said perhaps I should have shoved the flop raise. Was a nice hand.
In other news donked off some money on the cash tables but won most of it back. Gonna post a few hands and see what people think of my play. I'll update my bankroll later as i've got C4P to take out but also gonna take some money out for holiday at end of Feb
I'm up to 258 points this month so far, so hopefully on course for the 4k freeroll.
After 6 cash sessions at 10/20p I am £20.71 down. (not bad considering I just left a table £45 up!!! so was £65 down at one point!!) Plus a BH buying for $5.75 with no joy.
I got £7.21 C4P
However I've withdrawn some money to pay for a holiday so currently my BR stands at £271.56
With a balance of £75.73 profit since I started my diary. Not including the C4P as they were part earned before I started my diary, however I will include these in future.
