However, it isn't through any skill of playing poker! Put £1 on a seven fold accumulator of all the League 2 and Skrill Premier games and it came in @ 320-1!
Forest Green nearly gave me a heart attack when I had a draw down and they let Woking score in the 90th minute and then amazingly scored themselves!
Happy days:) Shame I didn't put a bit more on lol!

All the best gambles give you that sort of emotional roller-coaster en route to the win.. makes it so much sweeter!
Good to see you back in the game so quickly FFish - grab the chance and run with it
Running with it atm! Had 2 good cash sessions after my lucky football bink - both resulting in £50+ profit (mainly at nl20).
Had a long, hard look at hand histories, digesting advice given to me on some of questions on the forum and tried to plug errors.
There were some very basic errors I have been making too much (some of which I was aware of) but the costliest one was actually hidden. I knew that I called with speculative hands OOP but just didn't realise how much money had been thrown away in the form of small pots (10BB or less). There were so many of these small losses they easily leads to approximately 2BI's worth of invisible negative profit over the course of a long session!
I first spotted this by working out the difference between my all in hands both won and lost. I would be up here, but down for the session - how so I thought? Then I looked at the other large pots of 50BB's or more and still the same pattern. very confused at this point. It was only when I looked at the small pots that there were so many of them, mainly losses and it was this this was battering any profit I made, sometimes even worse.
There are other tweaks I have made too, but this seems to be the biggest factor and in two sessions of cutting it out from my game the results have dramatically improved. Hopefully this will continue and I will be able to spot other mistakes in my play.
Last day of the Easter holidays today so will be limited to evening sessions only once I start back at school tomorrow - and that's when I don't have too much work to do:(
After my obvious skill in football betting to resurrect my poker mission I've decided to have another crack at the BHM fixtures. I've given up looking for favourites as at least one of them messes it up every time! New strategy - click on the name of a team and ignore the odds, select 6-8 matches and boom:)
If anyone's interested here are my pics. £1 on 3 separate accumulators.

This last one is over 2000-1 so what can go wrong:)
The FISH continues his luckbox story over the weekend:)
£320 profit on the footie, a £3 lottery became a UKOPS ME4 seat and a cash for nearly £120 (no bounties through unbelievably) and about £80 to the good from NL10 and 20 cash play.
Had a dream table at first in UKOPS ME but everytime I went for a bounty they survived so chipstack grew, shrunk, grew... Then got moved to a nightmare table when I had a nice stack but was dwarfed by 3 of the biggest stacks in the whole tourney so making moves was tough to say the least. Made sure I cashed so as to not waste a £3 gift, but was too small to ever take a bounty and in the end ran KJ into QQ with 8BB's left:( still not a bad weekends bit of fun:)
First day back at work after the Easter hols so knackered now. May play a little bit later on tonight but not sure. GL all at the tables:)
Little bit of a dip these last couple of days but nothing too serious. Anyway its football time tomorrow so hopefully ill get lucky again and build the bankroll through skill that isnt poker related:)
I now actually have a monetary aim as the missus want to completely revamp the front room:(
However, last time i tried to hit a money goal i played absolutely dire trying to hit it too quickly and losing instead. She'll just have to wait and see what happens lol! Think we will stick to cash rather than wasting money trying to satellite into mains. I checked my own ss and didnt how much i really sucked at mtts, makes depressing reading. Think i may try to improve the dreadful record when im a bit more flush and its the hols again in five or so weeks.
Well I have played a bit this last week but nothing really serious. Up and bit, down a bit, up a bit and down a bit.... spot the pattern! Basically about where I started at the beginning of the week.
Finished the month on just shy of 2500PP's and a profit - although more than half of that was due to luckboxing a 7 fold accumulator:)
Been playing more NL20 this last week than NL10 and getting used to any subtle differences. There doesn't seem to be many IMO. The loose passive players are still loose passive, albeit in slightly few numbers but not drastically so. Maniacs are still present. Then there are the multitabling regs, who seem somewhat less nitty than their NL10 counterparts though.
I will continue with the idea of this thread (not to go broke, but reaching 1K by the end of this month would be nice) although for better or worse Mrs Freshfish knows exactly how much I have in here and has given me a limit not to go below otherwise I have to withdraw it! Kind of stops me tilting and playing higher than I should so I guess it's a blessing in disguise:)
Dumped 2 buy ins in 20 minutes last night at NL10 through not getting the run of the cards - favourite both times:(
Rather than give, I continued and decided I'm gonna have a crack at some low limit tourneys this month too (£5-10) ones. Will see if I do any good and have entered the UKPC challenge for the fun of it.
I'm no tourney expert by any means but managed to finish 3rd in a £10 bounty hunter for £105 profit. However, can any of you tourney experts tell me if I just chucked it away here or not.
Big stack was doing what he was supposed to by bullying and loved to see flops and then lead OOP but big enough to threaten anyone with their tournament life at the final table if they decided to play through. The previous hand he had fired 3 half pot bets when I had the goods and moved in on the river to which he folded. So I get KK the next hand and this is what happened. Thoughts and advice appreciated please:
Football betting was a disaster but poker was OK. Didn't play any tourneys but nearly Satted into the Primo for £6 - came 4th for nothing after making a dumb move on the FT:(
Cash went well though and felt good. Got 1 or 2 lucky breaks but generally felt in control of my play. It's a nice feeling when you believe you are playing well and the results go your way. Up about 5 BI's for NL20 for the day!
Still waiting for any advice on that BH hand peeps:0)
I haven't really played yet today apart from five minutes when my session was unexpectedly interrupted but i have just joined Team Poker Titans - thanks to Pokertrev for inviting me.
Looking forward to playing in my first forum dtd tonight and see what i can do. Let's see if i can start climbing out of a £500 hole acquired since i joined sky in 2011! You may see me on some cash too and hopefully my good weekend will continue where i've made about another £200 to add to the br, currently around the £750 mark.
Flop: Bad. By c/r allin what will call you that you are ahead of? Very dry flop. Should c/c here and then see what happens. If he puts you allin then we can fold as we still have a decent stack.
You play cash and are good enough to know that you have to continually adapt your play through the streets. You may have had a good plan pre but always re-evaluate after each street.
Craig, obviously plan was to flop nice and gii but that failed! However with the ace i was caught in two minds and only 15 or so secs to decide. I thought cbetting wasnt great as i burn half my stack and fold to a shove. With this particular villain tho he limp called and called raises ip very wide with his stack and pretty much betted any flop either with a lead if he was oop or after a check. He had built his stack up this way by forcing people to either fold or gii over the top for their tournament life and got many many folds. My initial reaction was **** and hope to check it down. Knowing the villain would bet anything here essentially making me decide for my tournament life played a part in my decision. He obviously has any ace small here in his range but also any connecting cards upto the likes of jt maybe qj and small pairs. He raises big aces/pairs pre imo. I just thought at the last seconds there was more than enough complete bluffs compared to his value range to move in here. He calls any 7 or q, weak draws etc... And folds his air (based on what ive seen through the ft). Im well in the hunt for first if he folds or calls with worse and obviously out if i got it wrong, which i did!
Maybe i shouldve either just jammed pre (but thought my hand was too good for this) or just cf as i still have enough to make moves in more favourable spots?
I know what your saying and getting it in pre is a mistake as you want this player in. He called with Q7 so he is calling very, very wide BUT by shoving here your both wasting a chance to call him down when he is bluffing or with weaker hands (which you said is a lot) and I wouldn't even mind if you called him down and called off because he is doing this much, much wider than when he calls off your all in.
Check folding the flop would be wrong and the poker gods actually gave you a chance to fold correctly for the wrong reasons (the A) as im pretty certain when you call flop he ships turn and you can, sigh, and fold.

Good point here Craig, ty:)
As I mentioned earlier, I joined Team Poker Titans yesterday afternoon and entered the DTD tourneys. In my debut outing I managed a 2nd in DTD, 22nd in DTD3 and nowhere in DTD2. Ended up 5th on the leaderboard for the night so pretty chuffed with my first contribution for the team. Hopefully this will be the start of climbing out of that £500 hole Sharkscope tells me I'm in:)
£42 for 2nd in DTD and approx. £20 up in cash for the day (didn't play too much though) made a good day all round - BR up and over £800
Didnt play tuesday or yesterday but got my rewards payment of about £25. Decided to treat myself to the 12k bh tonight. Got 2 bounties so needed one more to break even and a shortie with a £30 head that i just cover moves in and i call with jacks. He has ace ten and flopped ace cripples me sigh:/ out next hand!
Then out of mini soon after and was chipleader in a s&g with 3 left. I had 6000 to their 2000 each, flop trip fives and gii vs tt, river ten, next hand i shove with jj and snapped by aa, out!
So i play cash and 5 mins in gii with qq vs aa, £15 dumped and then i gave up:/
Overall loss of £35 but still a bit sick on bh as £30 bounty wouldve seen me in the black for sure and above average stack with 90 or so left bah!
Well for better or worse I pulled the lot out last night. Had a really heavy week work wise so haven't played at all since the weekend. Overall just shy of £700 came out with a peak BR of just over £850. Interestingly I noticed the start of a downswing last Friday, clawed a bit back and then dropped over £100 in one day. When you start on one it hard to get out of it as you seem to get a one all the beats happening one after the other which can sometimes (or used to always) tilt me. Got in the wrong frame of mind and think that if I'd have carried on I'd have just dumped more and more:( Not sure what to do now as I still want to play but needed that money for home improvements so it's not like I can deposit a couple of hundred quid and go again. However, depositing £50 and playing NL4 doesn't really do it as I get bored playing that low and has a blatant disregard for £4 at a time! It's not really big enough for any MTTs unless I get lucky and bink one early or SNG's for that matter. 30/60DYM's aren't an option as I think I'd rather watch paint dry! Anyone got any ideas as I don't really want to put more than £50 back to start over and Mrs FF knows how much is in the bank LOL!:)
Sounds like you may need to take a sh!t or bust approach and allow yourself a couple of bullets to try and spin back up and take a breather (to save up a bigger bankroll) if not... £50 to play a couple of bigger buy in BH or 2-table NL20/5-table NL10 and spin... spin... spin!
You've evidently got the skills to run up a roll if the poker gods are kind in the early days... and a few more winnings sound like they would be a big help to the life roll.
