Do you/would you want input into deal making when you have a piece of someone or do you think that deal making should be handled by the players themselves? I personally think it should remain at the table, but with some of the amounts being played for, it could be hard to watch your horse not maximise their potential profit. Would you pay a higher markup to a player who you knew could drive an almighty deal, or the marginally better player??
Loving this thread, it's very interesting to hear your views on the game etc..
What I want to know is, was there a defining moment in your poker career where you realised you were going pro? Or did it just happen naturally as you moved up the stakes? Also, what was your background before poker, your job, did you still live with your parents etc..? Was going pro a tough decision and do you ever wish you did something else for a living?
what has been the highlight of your poker career so far?
what has been your worst moment/time in your poker career? and what did you do to survive it? (sounds like you havent had too many bad periods tbf though!)
are you kinda wishing you didnt agree to do this thread? - you must have written quite alot by now ...Its all very interesting though, and probably by far the most read thread on the community atm.
When you are having a particularly bad or frustrating run in tournaments is there anything you do differently to try and get a result? (i.e whinging a lot to your friends)
When are you writing your next blog for my website?

I think buying a piece in a player because of their potential deal making abiliites is getting a bit ahead of yourself tbh...should always be on their trustworthiness and ability.
I assume you are talking about the EPT deal? Tom is a great guy but was backed in this tournie....was a bit of a sticky situation. That is the kind of thing we see when FTs online go to a deal process except all the friends offer their views on Skype of FB!

It was just a natural thing, with earning more/moving up levels. I was really ill just before I went pro so my parents really helped me out with living costs.
I sometimes wish that I did something more 'meaningfull' than poker in terms of how it is valued in the outside world, however I am very happy with how poker has panned out for me so far and hopefully a few more interesting times to come!
Before poker I just had a normal office job - was just a stop gap before uni and then I got sick so it all went on hold! My blog PokerPlayer magazine website has a more indepth account

Biggest hand ever played - cash was in a live £2/5/10 game. Was just over £8k. I got it in with red AA (obv). He has black KK. Came an all club flop! Was pretty scary haha but managed to hold!
Tournie - had just min cashed a 1kHR online event and had about 50bb. Had a pretty insane dynamic with the guy to my left. Open 99UTG, he 3bets UTG1, I 4bet, he 5s, I jam. He has QQ. QT8 flop.....4 turn J river. And they say I run good! I had the big CL from then on and kinda crushed it all the way to the FT. Was the difference between 2k min cash and the 60k 2nd I got.
I don't think I have had too many low moments. Tough months, yeah of course, but in the grand scheme of things my problems are tiny compared to a lot of peoples and think one thing that helps me is that I never lose perspective of how lucky I am to make a living out of playing cards. There are many, many turning points in my career that had they gone then other way then I simply am not writing this post by now.

I don't whinge I do strategic, tactical moan ins about once every 4 months. This is unlike your strategy of moaning everytime you lose 15bb in a pot 40 times a day.
I shall do a blog when I have something to say. We can talk over dinner. You buying?
Ive been coaching ryan for about 5 months. He is definately one of the most genuine, hard working and dedicated pro's in the country. He was already a very good player with a great poker brain when i started working with him, and it seems like things have clicked recently and he is enjoying a decent sized heater. He deserves every success that comes his way. Ill fire a coupla questions your way; What is sexier, kelly brook OR flopping a set in a 4bet pot, 200bb deep vs the weakest player at the table? And, whats the most generous thing you have ever done for a friend or family member after a big win or for xmas/birthdays?
Keep up the good work m8 p.s were doing a lesson in 10 minutes so hurry up and finish typing here :-)

Still think I'm pretty lazy with what I do and need to improve so much!
Kelly Brook obv. I quite often flop sets when deep so I fancy a change.
Um family - bought my Mum a car. Paid for a couple of holidays for the family too. When a big win comes I'm gonna take them all to Vegas I think!
Don't really have a question as such, just wanted to congratulate you on a pretty ridiculous week. Was railing for a bit last night, dealt with that moron in the chat box in an admirable way. Just wish I had an ounce of your MTT skills!
Actually, I do have a kinda question. I caught that A10 vs AK vs 44 hand.....would you play it differently given the chance again? IIRC Bolly shoved 20k @ 800/1600 UTG with 44, you called UTG+1 with A10 and then Charlie went over the top after you with AK for slightly above 40k total I think. Suppose I'm just curious on your thought process in the hand. Obvs you have to call but you must have been hating it, hence that classic ''3 outs'' comment haha
I might consider passing A10 given table positions and the stack sizes behind us, but that's probs a leak in my game!

Yeah the more I think about it, a fold is looking a lot more like the best play to Bolly's original shove.
Was hating it a lot once Charlie got involved!
At least the river saved me for when I made a big mistake.
Oooohh and as a follow up question, was that table last night one of the toughest you've been on in a Sky MTT? Having the company of TommyD, Bates, CharlieF29 and Bolly must have been fun. Felt a bit sorry for the other guy at the table, didn't recognise his name (Ash something?), stuck with 5 of the sites best players!
Yes, been a great thread, & well done to Scotty who answered every question. We'll let it run a few more days, then do someone else. I have a few players in mind, but all (realistic) suggestions welcome. Posted by Tikay10

I even had to have a second hot cross bun with my morning coffee
Keep up the good work, good advice and good luck.
