totally agree double up early doors and usually make a deep run to final table, and can call of bounties a little lighter, whats your thoughts for calling for bounties? call light? i think if you flat the flop after i check raise i sh** myself but the re raise to me look like a draw, good banter mate all is fair in love and war.
update last night big night at local casino, despite having over 25% of chips in play and only 9 bb lol 6 handed decdied to chop and play for left over 310 lucky enough i did as next hand big stack has aces and i have queens gg me.
another hand, interested in knowing whether people think this is a call, the villain is playing like a maniac and getting very annoyed by chipping him down and open shoves quite regularly. interested to know if its a call, depending on stack sizes, prize jumps etc? and would anyone be kind enough to sharkscope some information on my mtt game roi etc and dym's please!
If he has been playing like a maniac and its a turbo event i think you have to call, if its a slower structure then the fold is fine because if you believe you have an edge you will be able to find a better spot.
I think AQ is a snap, A10 is a pass and AJ somewhere in the middle...Lean towards a call if the blinds are about to go up, lean the other way if they've just gone up.

Hi mate, yeah as we discussed after he had gone - You had an edge over him (as did most living things) and he was playing like a maniac. If he's doing this with any two, you're still giving away too much of an edge to call off and hope to hold imo. good fold.
I had similar experience live on Friday night. Had just bust the tourney a few off the bubble after a guy in bb calls off 15bb with 5 high and gets there (I had 16bb). Sat down to play cash and this drunk Chinese kid sits down and instantly makes it 23x UTG. After a couple of giggles we all pass and he shows Q9s. Bravo, vwp.
Next orbit he ships £200 after a 5x open and two calls. I have £90 and ATo. I know i'm ahead of his range so I call off. He has 92o. Board runs out 2QQ2T and he takes it and celebrates like he's just won The World Cup (topical). I knew the risk but was happy to do it, and in a cash situation i'd do it every time, but in tournaments v manicas I would only take the risk if it didn't cr1pple me, and I had enough chips to grind my stack back up.
thought i'd give this sky poker cup a go since i used to play a bit of heads up, so far im 6/7-3 i think and all three loses could of been avoided, 2 were blow ups from a tournie and the other i might as well of handed larson my 5.25.
hopefully cut the shiiiit tilt out my system and mantain around a 70-75% win rate to be in with a chance, what are peoples thoughts on what the win rate needed to make the 16?
Going to need to run very well. 70 percent is a good score to aim for. Table selection vital and hope get a few rematches from a stubborn inexperienced player. I suck at hu but imagine most regs will have a go at this.

That's brilliant, more of us need to be leaving the laptop at home and getting down to the casino!
GL with the diary / HU games Jake. I'd guess anything north of 75% would make the final 16, but even ignoring skill, over a relatively small sample it's going to take a lot of run good, so be lucky!!
Over a small sample of only 50 SNG, would you not expect a handful of people to go on an upswing and win 75% or so of their games?
Just figured that you'd need to win comfortably upwards of 30/50 (60%) to be in with any chance... may be way off though, I do have a tendency to over-estimate the ability of others!

The tournament is based on average ROI not on win percentage. I would say 35/50 would be about right to make it which would give you an average roi of around 20%
ahh i thought it was win rate jordz? defo giving it a good go and hopefully end up in profit. also got a few days off work to smash some tournies during the day. Treat myself to an ipad with the winnings hopefully the tournies get added to it sooner

Fine margins.
3 handed, if they are shoving really wide here, would snap call with AJ.
