    12. How do poker sites make money?

Poker sites make money primarily through rake and tournament fees. Online poker rooms do not bet against players so there is no fear that the poker room is doing something illegal for their own benefit. They do charge players a small fee to use the poker server. Such fees include rake collected from the pot after each ring game hand. Also, they collect a small portion of a tournament entry fee. The rake distribution is different from one poker site to the next. Each poker room has its own rake schedule to determine how much rake is removed from the pot. Some sites will not collect a rake if everyone folds before the flop takes place. Also, most sites reduce the rake when games are short-handed (i.e. 2 players playing head-to-head). Tournament entry fees typically cap at 10%.

Durie, I hope you take your 'case' to court, and win satisfactory damages for the loss you incurred playing cash poker.

Can't imagine the amount of sleepless nights you're gonna have over the AWOL 12p.

    Shame on you Sky.

You've never heard of rake? It's a fundamental aspect of poker. Either live or online. You agreed to sky poker terms and conditions when you signed up, so good luck in court.

P.s. if you find a poker site without rake pm me won't you :)

This has to be a level. How does a guy who's been to at least 2 SPT's (ie not a total noob) not know about rake in cash games?

but sky always wins because of rake
you just don't notice so much when you win a pot because you are still in profit. When you split a pot you will always lose unless a third player puts enough into it and loses.
