By the way, have you considered adding in your bonuses and rake race money etc in to your stats? It's all income afterall... Posted by The_Reflex
Hi Liam,
I will add bonuses in, I don't think I've had one since I started posting again though today will be the first around £60 I think, the previous weekly bonuses are already thrown into the BR. I've had 3 of my highest weekly payouts since joining the site thanks to sky's triple/double point promo.
I decided to play live last night instead of grinding away online, id already reached my target of prio so thought id go with a couple of mates and try my luck there, bought into the nightly £24 1 rebuy/1 double addon tournament. didn't need the rebuy but took the double stack addon on. found the play to be somewhat unconventional, people were limping all over the place and any kind of aggression has them scampering unless they flop something strong. found the tournament on the whole very comfortable and made the Ft at a canter, ended up finishing 4th for a profit of around £150 when u take drinks etc into account, so a decent nights work done.
I don't play live very often but whenever i have ive always found the atmosphere to be very friendly and welcoming, this was the case last night too until we got down to 4 handed when out of nowhere these 2 guys start needling each other and it builds into a case of one up manship and each has to tell more and more wild stories to explain why they are so great at short handed poker and how they knew that the other was terrible at poker. i found it entertaining and it helped the time pass as the 4th guy, who in my head i had nicknamed Mr Hollywood, was taking what seemed like an eternity to make every single decision had slow the game down so much i was about die of boredom.
Tonight i came back to the online grind and had a swingy session, happy with how i played for the most part, called with queens on a flop with 3 unders no draws when i should of known i was behind ill try and find the hand and post it but in that spot against the strong reg i was HU with they are never bluffing. i said in chat at the time that its making those calls that i need to cut out of my game if i ever want to take it up to the next level, and its something i will work on for sure. still i managed to finish the month with another profitable session very very happy with the month, and with around £80 to come from prio rakeback i will have made about £800 profit this month, making it my most successful month by some distance. however im not going to rest on that and hopefully i can do the same if not better next month, lets see if i can hit that 1k mark.
After a very succesful month last month i decided to withdraw down to 1k and then rebuild. I've set myself the goal of reaching prio again this month so decided to get alot of volume in over the next 3/4 days before the double points stops to get myself ahead of the volume curve. I also decided that to build on my decent results last month i was going to move back up to 8 tables from 6, i used to do this (and more) comfortably at the £5.50 and £3.30 level but decided to move down to 6 for the £11 grind to give myself abit more thinking time in hands and get to know my oppponents abit better before playing too many games.
I dont like to set profit goals as a general rule as i fel like it can lead to me playing at times when i shouldnt and watching my results game by game and worrying about them, as it is i just check at the end of the session and se where i am. i thinks that works best for me but ive decided to use last months £800ish profit as a target. granted not all of that came from poker as i had a good month on the football bets, but as im planning on playing longer sessions and more tables i feel like its still achieveable.
Tonight i got myself off to a great start in reaching that goal. the session started a little bit swingy, but about mid way through the session something at sky must have hit my boom switch and the good results kept on coming.
I recieved a £80.33 priority bonus for last months play. and also won £20 on one of tonights freerolls giving myself a nice little boost before i even sarted with the dyms.
Nice tidy results Lee, I think this time last yr you were £100. Nice to see that you don't loose the plot after a withdrawal. Posted by mumsie
nothing to lose the plot about, had a decent upswing decided to take some out, im due a downswing now and if that happens ill just grind it back up one of the many joys of poker.
Was wondering if any of those £5 DYM,s were turbos and how you adapt to play them. I,ve looked for some strategy advice on how best to play them but its pretty rare. Theres plenty about normal DYM,s but not turbos

Hi MP33,
i think i played a total of 2 turbos last month, and whenever ive played them in the past ive had poor results too, i tend to play them as if they were a normal dym that had got to level 4/5 without much happening. but that clearly hasnt worked so myadvice is not to do that
The only was to describe tonight would be a grind. it started of well and i thought i was on for another decent profit, then the down swing kicked in, strangely about the same time as i was watching the Newcastle game, which was tilting to watch, its been a long time since i've seen an officiating team perform so poorly, 1 blatant Newcastle penalty denied another 50/50 one which i can accept sometimes u get them sometimes you don't, Clark's goal rules out for god knows what reason. the Shelvey sending off i'm ok with but why no red for Lansbury, how can one person kicking back after being kicked be worse than being kicked in the first place? The Dummett Red card, firstly what happened to getting rid of the double punishment for fouls in the area that weren't serious? i think it probably was a penalty but the red card on top was a complete joke.
At the time i didn't think it was effecting me but looking back it clearly did will probably avoid watching Newcastle and playing at the same time in the future. both poker and football can be tilting at times so doing both together can be a recipe for disaster.
The tables were looking quite tough between 10-11 tonight so i decided to sit and table select heavily, there were a lot of games with 4/5 strong regs in them and not even the double points makes that worth doing IMO so i sat waited for them to play however many they were playing then started to reg for games after that. it didn't really work as i still played terribly but the thought was there.
A very frustrating night last night, had a great afternoon session which i ended £82 up from 18 games, but lost all of that and more during the evening, just a typical saturday for me.
for the first time since restarting the diary and coming pback and playing more on the site varience is really testing me. poor day today started off losing 13 of my first 16 games, managed to grind back some of my loses, and overall glad with how i played tbh, got it in ahead time after time, lady luck just wasnt looing after me tonight. here my monthly results so far its not looking great but im sure it will turn

Isn't that amazing?
Without taking pleasure from your pain, it must be of some comfort to many that even a long term proven winner such as you cam lose 13 from 16.
I night last week I lost 10 DYM's on the bounce. 2 nights later I won 12 from 15, & I had an 11 game winning streak last week, too.
its been an up and down few days since my last post, had a couple of MTT nights finishing one with +£5 and another -£120 then had a spin up cash session finishing about £120 so all in all about even.
Dyms have continued to be a steady source of income though so really should stick to them, but i do enjoy the odd mtt and im sure i have the game to get some decent results so i dont want to never play them.
Hi all i hope you have enjoyed Christmas, and that your all planning on seeing new year out with a bang, obviously with the family and work and Christmas ive been abit busier than normal, so regular poker was put on the back burner a little along with posting, but as ive finished my play for the month i figured i would update everyone.
away from the table everything is going great, im not much of a celebrator i don't really understand the fuss about birthdays (and with my 30th coming up this year i can only see my interest in them getting smaller and smaller) and things like new years and valentines Easter etc just seem so commercial and there's so much pressure to observe them in a specific way that they just seem recycled and boring to me. however Christmas is my one exception. i love it, always have, i never ask for presents and rarely get more than a few from those close to me, but having kids and seeing the joy on there face just makes my year every year.
My oldest son asked for one present this year, flying Thomas, a train track with a massive ramp that Thomas the tank engine flies down and jumps over a river and onto another track. when he got it from his nan ive never seen anyone so excited in my life, i dont think that winning the WSOP main event would bring a smile to my face like seeing him open that present did. hes had abit of a rough start to life being in and out of hospital with lung issues. having issues with his hearing and sight, which of course bring with it the speech and reading problems but this year after finally getting to the bottom of these things hes come on so much and you can just see all around improvements to all of those things, and his confidence and ability to join in with others improved with that.
My daughter just wanted anything to do with my little pony, so we settled for her first non stabiliser bike with a pony theme and a few little toy ponies. unfortunately im not great at assembling bikes and have somehow messed the brakes up so she hasn't got to ride it yet but we will get that sorted in the next week or so.
as for new year although im not a massive fan a friend is throwing abit of a "kid friendly" new year house party so i've decided to go along to that.
To the poker.. the month hasn't gone so great, as you can see above that one really really stupid spin up session, along with poor dym result lead to a small dip in the BR. not unrecoverable, and im sure by the time i get my prio bonus for the month im going to be pretty close to the 1k i started the month on but i need to be doing better and need to keep my discipline. ive set myself a goal for 2017 of making priority each month and to play no spin up cash at all!
