Afternoon all. Looking forward to tonight's show where it looks like I've been lumbered with, I mean, paired up lovingly with my original screen partner... Sky Poker TV LIVE! Thursday 5th February 2015 7pm-midnight
Channel 861 or streamed from skypoker.com
With Richard ‘Are you actually going to get a round in at some point, Neil?’ Orford

...and forget Spiderman, Batman and Superman. We've got the latest Superhero- Oldman...

And we go live at 7pm for a night of bringing your favourite poker site to life. We'll have Mastercash action and loads of coverage of tonight's main event The £12K Sky Sports Bounty Hunter.
Feel free to start sending in your messages now- I'll be reading them out on the show to everyone watching as soon as we go live and throughout the night.
Everyone who has a message read out, or a hand request shown, goes in the hat from which at 11.30pm we'll draw three winners of UKPC Quarter-Final satellite seats.
Tonight we're asking you to share...

YOUR MOST MEMORABLE WINNING LONG SHOT

Whether it was a sports bet, a wager between friends, a risk you took in poker that paid off, or something in life that didn't involve money at all...what's the one time that sticks in your mind where you rolled the dice and came up trumps?

See you at 7!

The one thing that sits in my mind was sitting at a mastercash table with this guy ricorford, he normally sits at the low stakes but this time he went for 100nl, so for some tv time id sit down, although the hands where i got in against this player was the end of the hour and wasn't showed :(

i sat with about £40 and spun it up to about 150 and won some nive pots against him..... was a good night. :)

As Cheltenham is coming around again it has to be my biggest payday of the festival.

I had always wanted to take the 3 / 4 days off for the festival but with work commitments I never could until 2008.

It started off badly on day 1 and day 2 was cancelled due to high winds lol.

Day 3 was a break even day and day 4 missed the first four races as had to attend a funeral.

Which left me with the final two races.

I did an each way double Tiger Cry 15/2 and Silver Jaro 66/1.

Tiger Cry won quite handily and Silver Jaro ridden by Neil Fehily went out like a bullet and led by about 40 lenghts.

The last 3 or 4 furlongs felt like miles as slowly but surely the fav was reeling in Silver Jaro.

Amazingly Siler Jaro held on to win and land me my biggest racing payday.

Its not often you go into a bookmakers and they ask you to come back while they count your money .

A five figure payday and everyone drank for free that night.

Just realised it was 7 years ago. Feel old now.

    Pat

As a fan of a non league football club I am interested in lower league football so last year after I had turned 18 I put a on £5 accumilator for 5 non league divisions of outright winner with each way odds slashed by 1/4 for top 3 (Odds on league winners approximately 9/1 , 12/1 , 15/2, 14/1 and a 33/1 gamble). I managed to get 4 out of the 5 leagues with the correct winners, and in the other league my 33/1 gamble finished 2nd, to scoop winnings of around £3200.

Funnily enough said 33/1 team were top of the league with 2 games to go - and they lost one of those games. No comment on how large winnings would have been had they won their league (6 figures!) but what I won was a decent consolation. That was also my first bet too, decent brag.

Nothing, ever, ever will beat the longshot shocker that a certain individual winning the Leeds Sky Poker Tour side event in 2011....

... cue the Richard Orford smug face.

To be followed by Mr Kendall saying 'what have you won since then?'

    Hi rich and tikay

the longshot bet i remember was way back in the 70s.  There was a special bet at romford dogs.  The first race you picked three dogs in a 10p forecast allways which cost 60p.  Then if you won that you only had one pick to forecast the first two dogs.  Only eight people went through to the second leg.  I got it right and won £147.10.  Its funny how you remember the one off gamble.  Back then this was more than a months wages for me.  Hope you have a good show tina

    You've annoyed me now.

Gonna wear my beloved Red Jacket, just to tilt Lord Smirk.

Talking of which, Rich Orford was spotted on a tube train in London yesterday.

Not that I remember it myself, but I suppose the luckiest moment for me was when my father decided to come home early from work, which was unusual but he felt he had too. When he got home I was crying in my pram outside the house( it was a few years ago). My father picked me up and walked into the house nomsooner had he done that when they heard a thud sound. My father and mother went back outside to see a large roofing slate on the pillow of my pram.

I would normally say great show so far, but you have failed already by linking the wrong thread to the show thread link.

My most memorable winning longshot will be tomorrow in the 5.45 Wolverhampton when my friend's Tom Hall
will hopefully defy his current odds of 25/1 and look radiant in the winning enclosure!

i think i once wrote a post on my mobile and it didn't time out and make me repeat it. Unfortunately i don't have proof that such a long shot actually happened. certainly didn't just now. hahaha well done skypoker my post failed the second time as well. Lucky i remembered to copy it before submitting this time.

i played my first ever poker tournament
    somewhat the worst for wear
and it was a live event
    yet somehow i binked it

    Long shot story:

All in for tournament life and drawing basically dead at a local casino.
Hit the perfect-perfect that I needed to stay alive and double up (about 1080/1 I think).
Went on to make the final table from there and......

    Lost heads up :(

    Great Show So Far Guys!

Won a £30 pub game which won me entry into the £550 buy in English Open Deepstack, where I finished fourth for £10k.

My most memorable long shot was a Rebuy Open last Xmas, double guarantees week, didn't fancy playing but had a flutter on the All-In satellites for 60p. Got into the main event first go, and with nearly 700 runners there was a huge prize pool. Eventually 6 hours later I finished third, my best finish in a main even now, for £960. 60p into £960 in one go. Memorable as its still my biggest win ever.
