Bad news (to me at least). Daniel is gone. 11th place for $526K.

Another victim of the juggernaut that is Joe McKeehan, Daniel first called a pre-flop raise with A4, and shoved over McKeehan's c-bet after the flop came A-K-10, 2 diamonds. McKeehan called with J-3 of diamonds, so it was top pair against a flush draw.

McKeehan's outs improved when the 3h came on the turn, giving him approximately a million outs, and when the Queen of hearts came on the river it gave him a straight to eliminate Daniel. Daniel equals his best ever finish in the ME, he also came 11th in 2001.

The 10 remaining players will now combine for an unofficial Final Table and play until one more player is eliminated. The 10th player will get over 3/4 of a million, but make the November Nine and that becomes seven figures...

Bad news to my ears, too.

    Great shame, imo.

Apart from the fact I believe him to be a tremendous Ambassador for the game (& of course his Sponsor), his presence in the November Nine would have added a lot of positive noise & publicity, which poker could well use.

:( thats sad. I would have been eagerly anticiping November 9 had he been in it. Now it's a case of maybe catching the highlights on youtube sometime over the next couple years.

    Boo. 11th twice, pretty sick.

One side note about George McDonald - according to the Hendon Mob stats, this will lift him from 98th to 4th in the all-time Scottish money list (behind David Vamplew, Niall Farrell & Gordon Huntly)

First all in and a call, Beckley doubles through McKeehan when the short stacks A-Q beats the chip leaders pocket nines with an ace on the flop.

"Everyone loves a chopped pot", well except for the other players trying to ensure their place at the November 9

Turyanksy gets it all in with AJ, he is dominated by McKeehan's AK. The board double pairs and the two players get ther chips returned.

From having 4 players in the last 25, to having none at the November Nine, that's Germany.

Alexander Turyansky became the latest victim of the relentless big stack that is Joseph McKeehan. He has, quite rightly, been playing big stack bully for an hour or more, raising every pot and with all the other players on his table short stacked in comparison to him, more often than not picking up the blinds and antes. When someone does play back at him, such as Beckley did and Neuville did once, he may lose a few million but with about 500K in the pot before cards are dealt he quickly makes that back up again.

Anyway, Turyanksy eventually finds a big hand, AK off. His problem is that McKeehan also finds a big one, pocket queens. Classic race situation. The flop is 7-6-5, no help to the German but an eight on the turn potentially spices things up.

Dramatic pause, the river card is dealt and it needs to be an ace or a king for Turyanksy to double up, or a 4 or a 9 for a chop. It is......the jack of diamonds, nine players become millionaires and reach the November 9 and the German is busto.

Chip counts for the return in 4 months time

    McKeehan 64.1m
Stern (also known now as Serial Tanker Zvi Stern) 29.8m
    Bluemfield 22.0m
    Neuville 22.1m
    Steinberg 20.2m
    Cannuli 12.2m
    Beckley 10.8m
    Chan 6.2m
    Butteroni 6.2m

6 Americans (4 from the East Coast, 2 from California, none from Nevada), 1 Israeli, 1 Belgian and 1 Italian

I was refreshing Twitter constantly through the early hours today while at work, very exciting with several poker reporters tweeting the action live from the venue. Such a shame Negreanu didn't get there, would have been great for the game. Unanimously everybody on my timeline was rooting for him.

McKeehan had a dream scenario on the final table bubble. 60% of the chips in play at his table in front, and the four shortest stacks still alive to bully relentlessly on a massive pay jump. Sounds like he made the most of the dynamic to build his huge lead. Very happy so see 72yo Pierre Neuville get there in an era increasingly dominated by young internet kids.

This thread has been excellent, thanks for all your hard work FCHD.

Who are the November Nine? With thanks to the WSOP, Hendon Mob and 2+2

    Joe McKeehan - USA - 63.1m (160BB)
The 24 year old has been the big stack for several levels now, and has been using it to his advantage, raising almost every hand to put pressure on the short stacks. He was 2nd in the inaugural Monster Stack which netted him over $800K, and has almost $2million in tournament earnings. His percentage chip stack and lead over his nearest challenger is the biggest in recent ME history.

    Zvi Stern - ISR - 29.8m (74BB)
36 year old Israeli with one previous WSOP cash, $5505 in 2008. That and a $44K score at the PCA High Roller in January are his only results Hendon Mob have recorded. He is the first Israeli to FT since Amir Lehavot in 2013, and is a habitual very slow player, some would say staller. He was the main reason why his table was playing 10 or more hands a level less than the other tables on Day 7 which eventually saw "Hand for Hand" brought in unscheduled with 11 left.

    Neil Blumenfield - USA - 22.0m (55BB)
He would have been the oldest ever November Niner (at 61) if it were not for Neuville (see below). Before this event his biggest ever live score was $38K, a statistic that has been obliterated. Cashed in the Main back in 2011, and the Seniors Event this year.

    Pierre Neuville - BEL - 21.075m (52BB)
If Blumenfield would have been the record holder at 61, he has nothing on Neuville who is 72. A former board games designer, when his company was taken over by Hasbro and he was appointed a vice-president or similar, his contract prohibited him doing any gambling. After retirement he first came to prominence at the 2008 PCA, finishing 18th in their Main for $48K. He has been a regular 10K tournament player since, reportedly satelliting into 23 consecutive EPT main events. The closest he has come to a bracelet was as a runner-up last year, and he is the first Belgian to reach the Novemnber 9. If he finishes in the Top 3 he will overtake Davidi Kitai as the all-time top Belgian money winner. His achievements since retirement earned him a Lifetime Achievement award at the recent European Poker Awards.

    Max Steinberg - USA - 20.2m (50bb)
Tikay will like this gentleman, he often turns up for poker tournaments dressed in a suit and tie. He is 27 and was reportedly a big cheese online before Black Friday. He has almost $2m in live winnings (before this event), including 5 six figure wins, headed by $440K when he won his bracelet in 2012 in a $1000 NLH tournament. That makes him the only previous bracelet winner still alive. He is no longer a full-time pro, he makes his money playing "Daily Fantasy Sports", and won his seat in the WSOP playing fantasy basketball through WSOP sponsor Draft Kings.

    Thomas Cannuli - USA - 12.25m (30bb)
The youngest of the Nine at 23, he is more of a regular cash game player (mainly at Borgata) than a tournament expert, he only had $52K of reported earnings before this event, none of which had been picked up since a run in last year's ME where he finished 691st for $18K (he had one of the biggest stacks on Day 2 of that event)

    Joshua Beckley - USA - 11.8m (27bb)
Only been cashing in live MTTs for under a year, he's been in Vegas practically the whole Series, and this is his 5th cash. None of those cashes have reached 5 figures, now he is guaranteed a payout in 7 figures. He has numerous wins in East Coast events over the last year, scores of $98K, $55K & $33K all have been recorded at Parx in Pennsylvania

    Patrick Chan - USA - 6.225m (15bb)
Prior to the ME, Chan had cashed in one WSOP event in 2012, one in 2013, one in 2014 (Millionaire Maker, 12th for $100K) and one in 2015 (Colossus). 26 years old from Brooklyn, he's been a live player for 5 or 6 years now, split between cash and MTTs

    Federico Butterini - ITA - 6.2m (15bb)
The second European on the FT, 25 year old Butterini will make at least 10 times more from this MTT than all his previous live cashes put together. That includes 2 previous cashes at this years WSOP headed by $45K for 20th in the Monster Stack. He is a typically extrovered Italian, and if he does manage a double-up at the FT his celebrations will be worthing waiting for. The last Italian to make the FT was Filippo Candio, 4th back in 2010.

Play will resume with some time left in Level 35 (200K/400K with a 50K ante) but will soon rise to 250K/500K making Chan & Butterini's positions somewhat precarious.

That's it for me until November!
