Go for the freeroll strat u have mentioned and try to get lucky, if u fail and don't want to deposit then wait for the £75 to come through into your account. In the time before that, deposit an amount of money that means very little, say £10, and literally GRIND the heck out of the 25p DYM's. Don't play anything higher, ban yourself from it! Try to beat the games at that level and ignore the amounts of money you are playing for. If it goes well and you're getting (for example) around 15-20% profit on average over 100 DYM games then you know you are crushing them.
When the £75 comes through, start playing the £1 DYMs. Nothing higher. Again, limit yourself. Play this up to £100 and move up to £2 DYMs. Play this up to £150 and move up to £3 DYMs Play this up to £250 and move up to £5 DYMs
If at any point you drop to 35buyins of your current stake, drop down a level and grind it back up.
You can probably play these for a decent margin of profit if u multi table and play enough of them. It's all about volume, not about winning/losing streaks. Volume will over ride luck eventually and thats where skill comes in (Google "Variance in poker").
The money is ALL relative, so enjoy the game for what it is, as there's no point playing higher stakes seriously unless you really believe you have an edge.
might be a fools dream but it dont hurt to have a go i know it wont be easy but to me it will add to the fun of tryin if i only make a quid at least i have tryed it but if i do make it then what a fools dream it would turn out to be remember if you dont try you will never get Posted by ckd
Not at all mate, look at Dextrobloc. He frerolled into the Primo the Sunday before last and managed 3rd.
And, as you say, it's not costing you a bean to start off so go for it. Keep off the cash tables though, a small BR will end up as scared money.
hi ckd... no offence but ive played with you and i think you should read some poker strategy before you deposit more money. But if you enjoy it and can afford to then good luck with your challenge!!

DYMs were a great help to me. I used to suffer badly from fancy play syndrome but DYMs made me focus much more on keeping my stack and finding the right spots to play. Just simple solid ABC poker is all you need most times.

you call too much... call for draws etc etc that are too expensive in respect to the chance of hitting them. Flush draw on flop... 33% chance to hit but remember if your opponent bets on flop they will probably bet on turn so when you call a flop bet for your flush draw then you are only really looking at a 16.5% chance of hitting before you face another bet. Gutshot straight draws... forget them. Open ended straight draws... 30% to hit after the flop with 2 cards to come but same applies to what i said about flush draws. Raise rather than calling. Google poker strategy and you will find so so much helpful stuff! enjoy and its all free.
In Response to Re: here we go : if you expect people to ignore your sharkscope stats, then dont mention other peoples, and im sure people are intelligent enough to make up their own minds as to whether ckds goals are achievable or not Posted by hogan2089
If people were in general inteligent enough to work this out then Gamblers annonymous and casinos wouldn't exist
