The boys are in town, & they are all registered for their event tomorrow.

In this thread, we'll try & follow their progress, tell you what's going off, & answer questions.

Off we go. 

Please be aware of time difference - Vegas is 8 hours behind the UK.

    They arrived over the last week or so, but most flew in yesterday.

    At 7pm last night, in a private suite @ Palazzo, most of them assembled for a "Welcome Party", with drinks, a finger buffet, & so on. They are all billeted in Palazzo, & by all accounts, the rooms are pretty neat.
     
    Sam is based at Palazzo, & Dan (Sky Poker TV) & myself are over at Rio. 

    Dan & I went across to the Welcome Party, & we interviewed most of them, though our attempts to get Ben Nuttall on camera ended in failure, as usual.
     
    Won't be the greatest footage ever, as there was a lot of noise in the room - they had a FIFA X-Box thing going (think that's a childrens football game, like Subbeteo but posher) but you'll capture the atmo with any luck. The Video will likely be released in the next 12 hours or so.

    To most of them, who had not been to Vegas before, the heat was a bit of a shock. It's impossible to describe the heat. It was 112f @ 5pm yesterday, & at Midnight, it was still 103f.

    Today, at around 2pm local time, they all caught a coach (eventually....) across to The Rio to pay in for the event.

    There are TWO starting flights for their event tomorrow (Tuesday), it's officially Event # 61a & 61b, & the players seem to be equally spread between the two flights.

    Flight A is at 10m Vegas, which is 6pm UK.
     
    Flight B is at 4pm Vegas, which is Midnight UK.
     
    Blinds start at 25-50, they start with 10,000 chips, with a one hour clock.

    Not wrong, I'm seriously tempted.

    Fortunately, tomorrow is a "work day", so that saves any further dilemmas.

    Dan has kindly given me this evening off, so I can go watch a baseball game - Las Vegas 51ers (51-32, .584) v Sacramento River Cats (32-45, .416). 

    I've been to watch them every year for a few years now, at Cashman Field.
     
    It starts in blazing sunshine, & then, as it gets dark, & the floodlights come on, the atmo is amazing.

    I only stay until the bottom of the 7th innings, which is when, as at all Baseball games everywhere, the spectators all sing a song together.

    Wishing all the qualifiers best of luck in event later today. 

    In particular Essexphil, the second work colleague of myne to make it to Vegas with sky. 

    Tikay don't mention Bridges, Dams or Concrete to Phil - you have met your match. Phil will bore you about English Law!

    Hi Tommy,

    FCHD asked me a similar question for his excellent WSOP thread, but Sky Poker don't feel it is appropriate, for a bunch of reasons, (understandably) to "match" aliases to real names.

    So in this thread, we will use REAL NAMES.

    It is now 10am Vegas, & the morning "batch" are just starting.

    We met them all in the corridor, along with Mr Ambo, & they are all revved up.

    I took a group photo, will try & Upload it soonest.
