Do you remember your first?

Seen a couple of posts lately from players that have won their first tournaments and reminded me what a great feeling that first tournament win is. (Congrats DarkAngel).

I remember mine was winning a £1 speed £100 gtd that used to take place on here at 10.35 every night many years ago. I must of played it 50-100 times and then one night I took it down for a whopping £33 win, was chuffed to bits and still remember that great feeling.

Anyone else remember their first win?

Thanks Gregster, not my first ever mtt win but it's been a very long time coming. My first ever game I played on Sky back in Feb I came 48th and won a bit of cash, and I knocked Geldy out  (sorry Geldy blame Rose she was the one that got me into sky poker). Back then I didn't know who the professional players were or who was who so I wasn't intimidated by anyone back then. Now I've got to know quite a lot of you playing the tables, there are a few that make me apprehensive to play against but I get on with it and try my best. I've come a long way since then and I am starting to read the cards better instead of making rash decisions. I've even upped my game and started to feel more comfortable playing the very higher mtt's which I have been fortunate enough to sat into. This post title reminded me of Phil Collins, Do you remember.
    :)

1st win was live in a seedy pub game back when poker was more popular in 2003ish. Think it was £5 rebuys.

Got to HU late at night and the opponents daughter rings him in tears asking for a lift after an argument with her mates. He just got up and left and I won by default.

About 200 notes felt like a fortune when I was 17!

    Nice one DarkAngelOlive....

Well I knew a straight beat a flush in 3 card brag...and a bouncer was a straight flush...

off work with a fractured big toe from an inswinging yorker at the last league game of the season...

First played on Pacific Poker (saw advert on late night tv snooker) cos they gave you $150 completely free for the $150 deposited....

    played a $20 MTT 92 runner...

limped and called every raise oop and ip (never knew how to raise)....I was useless....

suited cards always look pretty....especially the AT in hearts...kept flopping trips....

car 54 where are you always look pretty in clubs...

received copious amounts of abuse in chat box...(nowts changed methinks)

absolutely luckboxed to $560 ish (lost it all obviously at the $3/$6 fixed limit within that first week)

next MTT win was 4 years later on Ladjokes.....

that's why  I stick to the two bob tournies....

I won a 12,000 player freeroll (12,000 I kid you not) Playing through a modem on party poker back in the day. I won around $20 and was playing from 6pm to 6AM

I did it purely for the fun of the game back then & kind of wish that is why I still played.

    Best Pulp song, love it.

Full of filth, like most of their songs.....''Still you bought a toy that can reach the places he never goes''....make of that what you will.
