What have you backed in the Grand National?

I know this is the wrong board, but it's a special occasion, so we'll put this in here today.

What have you backed for the Grand National?

Don't be coming along AFTER the race & saying you were on the winner - that's called aftertiming, & is unforgiveable in betting circles.

I hope you got 5 places.

I'm going to see which Vanessa Williams trained horse prefers todays ground and take an E/W punt on that. Normally will have great stamina and be an excellent jumper.

    I'm backing Holywell each-way.

Why? I'm returning to the wonderful South West Coast Path later today to finish it off (only 108 miles of the 630 mile total to go). Last time I was there I saw a wonderful double-rainbow as I walked around Holywell Bay near Newquay. That's as good a reason as any :)

Changed my mind! Put a small bet on Ballycasey each way, and also Silviniano Conte to win (after Sylvia)

    Good luck everyone!

          Silvanio conti
          Last samurai
          St. Are
Kruzlini.       All 2.50 ew.    These are mine. List of family picks to follow, but too many to mention. I only go in the bookies once a year and he cringes when I walk through the door.

Good luck and let's hope they all get round safely.

I have got and this is a good reason to steer clear of these horses.

    Last samuri 11/1
    Silviano Conti 16/1 EW
    Many Clouds 17/2

Having said that in the last few years I have picked a winner or to it just took me about 30 years to get the first winner, funniest thing I have ever seen connected to the grand national was my brother screwing his betting ticket up and cursing the horse before scrabbling in the bin to get his winning ticket. He had backed Red Rum against the gallant but absolutely knackered Crisp who at the end seemed to be bouncing up and down without actually going anywhere.
