R.I.P  Sir Gary. Always found him to be a fierce competitor, didnt know anything about him, I assumed the way he was running the game this year he was some 21yr old hot shot, certainly played that way at times.

    Condolences to the family.

Please find cut and paste below from an email from my Aunt who met, Sir-Gary and his wife when we were at Punta Cana in 2015:

    "

    Hi Grae,

That is really sad news about your poker chum Gary. When I saw the photo I remembered him immediately. He was a lovely man. What a shock for you all and of course his family. If you contact his family, and it feels appropriate, do pass on my condolences to them.

As for TK, as you say ,he has had a lucky break. Those stents are marvellous and I hope he will soon be feeling better than he has for ages.

Thanks for letting me know. "

Only knew Sir Gary through sitting with him on the tables. Always came across as a decent bloke and a strong player.

RIP and condolences to all his family and friends :(

Just picked up on this thread having been away for a few days.
I played on the same table as Gary on many occasions over what seems like several years and always had the greatest respect for him and his poker game.
My sincere condolences to family and friends.
    RIP Sir!

I am the same as everyone here - saddened by the news of Gary's passing.

I took part in DTD deepstack's last night to honour and pay "homage" to a real household name here on sky.

I tangled with him on a few occasions and like 99% of the people here I don't have a bad word to say about him.

A reall LOSS to our community.

    Regards
    GaryLaud
