^ No idea on the Ts and Cs. It is not covered specifically in the general ones and I couldn't find any specific ones for the EPRs (they always state the odds are subject to min runners and that T's and C's apply).
I assume that in that race the 50/1 winner guarantees the profit for backing all horses, if they came in fav 1st and the rest of the top 8 in the market in the top8 I assume the bookie still wins.
These offers are presumably there to capture more of the market in bigger races and on a daily basis to get more money on trickier races to pick.
With the bookie rounding offset by the extra places and if you avoid the favourites and extreme outsiders to take advantage of the odds bias, you should be getting great value on these EPRs.
I assume that if a punter only ever bet on these races and bet big and was winning consistently the general T's and C's would allow the bookie to step in and restrict or close the account. (I think I am safe on all 3 counts there).
If you'd have backed every horse E/W n the Cambridgeshire with SKY, a nice profit would have been had. Out of interest, would SKY allow that, or would it break the T&C's of the extra place race conditions? Cheers, G Posted by StayOrGo
Hi G.
I'm sure SKY would allow it.
I'm sure if you backed every horse each way in a 34 runner race, normally you would lose money, even if they were paying 8 places, (which was a fantastic concession). I'm sure the number crunchers at SKYBET will have worked it out, and it's just the fact that the race was won by a 50/1 shot with 2 other 50/1 shots, and a 100/1 shot in the first 8, that it would have been profitable to back all horses e/w. A very unlikely result normally.
I haven't worked it out, but I'm sure your inquisitive mind will, but what would have happened if you backed every horse e/w, and the FAV. won, and the next 7 in the betting filled the places from 2-8(another unlikely scenario I know). I'm positive you would lose money..... but I don't know for sure.
An interesting conundrum, but I think SKYBET, (and all other bookies) would have made a fortune with the extra business from their offer and with a result like last Saturdays.
EDIT: I couldn't believe how many times I used the word SURE in this post.... Apologies for sure!! (literally)
