I will keep following your thread Vaigret, and I'm sure Graham will too, because of the very useful info you give with your selections..... and I've already backed a couple of nice winners from you. Thank you
Dear all, I am happy to say that the expected £920 has been received in the Jackpot Syndicate Bank Account.
This represents 184 shares which is one less than last month due to Vaigret leaving us.
As always I will send screenshots of the bank transactions to Dollie and Snuffer.
Please note this £920.00 is not "usable" until 01/06/2017 as it represents payments for June's bets.
As such I have just left it in the bank account.
So there are currently two ledgers on the opening post. One for the "in play" funds and one for the "held funds". These will merge into one ledger on 01/06/2017.
Cheers,
G
P.S. I will post details later tonight as to how people can increase their number of shares if they wish, and/or how new members can join.
Hi Graham, I must say your changes/rules make complete sense to me. I especially like the idea of those putting the most effort being allowed to buy more shares. Best of luck to all. Donald Posted by thisltedu
Thank you Donald, I know it allows me to buy more shares than some others, but I do think it is fair as it potentially "rewards" both those who contribute the most and those who were in it from the start. (before the winning first month was known)
TY for this post and the endorsement of the process, much appreciated.
G
P.S. As an original member, if you wish in the future, you can go as high as 40 shares, provided the 500 cap is not exceeded, whereas new member maximum is 20. I think this is fair as you took the initial "chance".
Just out of interest Graham, how will you work out the price of the shares for the new issue? Posted by MISTY4ME
Hi Mist, in answer to your question, please see spreadsheet and thread below. (Spreadsheet is based on current requests at the time of posting (1.40am on 25/05/17) and current share value of £10.55 at time of posting, so both are subject to change by 30/05/2017)
The significant point is that the "Value per Share" BEFORE the additional requests will equal the "Value per Share" AFTER the additional requests. Hence no-one will be disenfranchised by the process.
If anyone has any concerns/questions regarding this process, please email me rather than post, as posts querying or questioning this process can cause unnecessary confusion and doubt for others.
As always, formulas are used to validate the various calculations:
Cheers,
G
P.S. Please can auditors Dollie and Snuffer verify to the forum that this process does indeed ensure the share value remains the same and that people are not disenfranchised. So people that are unsure of the maths, don't just need to take my word for it.

I have looked at the figures and the current share value of £10.55 is correct, any additional shares requested between now and 28/05/17 will not change the share value.
I have had a brief look at the Goodwood card tomorrow and would be a go apart from the very tough last leg. I am on my phone atm. So I will make a decision at about 7pm tonight when I am back home. Cheers. G
Hi, understood so far and working well just one question not that I'm going to but just for future ref if you wanted to decrease your shares would you receive a payment of current share value (10.55) per share and then decrease the standing order by £5 a month

Hi Matt, can I answer this on 31st May 2017 when we know the actual figures, otherwise it will cause more confusion than clarity.
I promise I will answer your question, but easier when the factors are know quantities, which they will be on 31/05/2017.
Cheers,
G
P.S. Just to answer it "partly". Yes is the answer, on the assumption that they made their usual payment on 24th. On 31st you will see how I deal with Vaigret's share, which is effectively being reduced from 1 to zero. However he didn't make his payment on the 24th of May, so "as it stands" will receive £5.55 not £10.55. So whether you'd get £10.55 or £5.55 per share depends upon whether the full payment was previously made on 24th. Regarding the potential request to "reduce" shares, you'd do it in the same way as an increase (on the other thread) and you will be reimbursed accordingly on 31st of the month. .Hope this helps.

I have decided it's a NO-GO no matter where the Jackpot is.
A combination of, not enough of a roll over and fairly tricky cards.

I confirm that I, HouseKey (Formally referred to as Evelyne), have two shares per month purchased for me by STAYORGO

Anyhow, whichever meeting it is (Out of Goodwood or Haydock)
It will be a NO-GO.

Following on from your question and to make things clear, I have updated the thread below re how we are dealing with Vaigret's reduction in shares.

Hopefully that answers your question more fully.
