    Unforch, in my absence, Mr Channing hs run into some turbulence.

    He has had Aces SEVEN times, but lost with them 4 times.

    He was down to 17,000 at Dinner, then slipped further to 10,000, before recovering to 22,000.

    Since then, a succession of beats, losing with A-Q, 10-10 & 4-4, has left him with around 13,000 @ 250-500/75.

    They are currently 40 minutes into Level 5, so play ends for the day in 1 hour & 20 minutes, at around 11.40pm (0740 UK).

    7,221. 

    That's the third highest total ever, & highest since 2017.

    The Welcome Drinks party was veey well attended - I think at least 37 or 38 of the 40 qualifiers were in attendance. Really good craic. 

    I've got some photos, but I'm a little tired tonight, so I'll try & post them tomorrow.

    It was so nice to see everyone make an effort to dress smartly. The Invite was "Smart Casual", & everyone wore exctly that - smart casual. It was a privilege to see so many took the trouble to look smart.

    But there's always one exception.

    One Chap turned up in, wait for it.....

    Flip Flops 

    Can you believe that?

    Anyone want to guess who it was?

    Access to the Cardrooms for spectators & media is no longer allowed when there are 15 minutes of play remaining, so as there are just 20 minutes left, I just popped in to see how Neil is faring.

    I could not see exactly, but it looked to me like he has around 7,500.

    I'll not be able to get any further chip counts, but I'll keep an eye on his Twitter feed, & if he Tweets further, I'll let you know.

    Close of play update - Neil Channing ended the day with 14,600.

    Hey...give him a bit of an allowance. He had just got back from the welcome party where he downed 10 pints of lager, smoked 5 reefers and then went the strip club before getting back to the media centre.

    Oh....hope Gill isnt still reading this ;)

    Hi All

    Well played all in day 1c.  Good luck for day 2 and remember it's a marathon, not a sprint.  Keep your cool and be patient.  Good luck to Neil.
