Tikay, whilst I had a brilliant time in Manchester I missed out on meeting quite a few players who were there as I did not know them by sight. At future SPT's, starting with Brighton (I shall be there), could we all have nametags so everyone can get to know each other and grow the Sky poker community even further? Posted by SidV79

I too had a great time but struggled to know who was who, I'm very forgetful at times too don't always remember the faces I have seen

Can't see any harm in a pen and some sticky labels being available on a desk somewhere if people wish to make a name tag. Solid use of a fiver of Sky's budget for the event IMO.
They did have premade nametags at SPTs back in the day for all satellite qualifiers. Some people wore them, others didn't bother. I used to wear mine before the tournament, then take it off if nobody else at my starting table had theirs on - Always seemed a bit unfair for them to know who I am straight away, thus having all their online notes available to them, but not offer me the same courtesy.
I found that wearing my Sky Poker hoodie in Manchester identified me as a reg and prompted people to ask who I am online, which is arguably preferable to a name tag as it starts conversation at the table.

Hi Sid,
You are correct, it was definitely an own goal not to use nametags at SPT Manchester. It was bad for the Staff Team & bad for the players not to easily be able to see who everyone was.
I've read feedback from loads of players who were (evidently) there but I never even knew they were there, people I would have liked to chat to or say hi. I was also unable to avoid those I did not want to meet or chat to, too.
From what I gather, most of the Team agree this was an unfortunate omission.
I was asked to provide written feedback to the Team on what I thought we did well/badly, and make recommendations as to how we could make SPT Brighton better. Always a mistake to ask my opinion, as I get all Markycash-esque, & I sent them a War & Peace length review which contained 13 Bullet Points. This included "we really should issue name tags", & I suggested that of all the things we might change or do different at Brighton, this was easily the most important. I seem to recall Sky Kirsty also suggested the same thing.
So whilst I cannot guarantee it, I'm pretty sure name tags will be available for SPT Brighton.

Yup, agree with that, though I'd prefer that the Name Tags were pre-printed or pre-written.
A pre printed Tikay10!!!!! Would be good Posted by Jac35
Sheesh, don't remind me. The misuse of exclamation & question marks by the world & his wife is getting worse. I blame successive Governments for being unable to educate folks into basic reading, writing & punctuation rules.
I saw an e-mailed note last week from someone who was introducing himself to his colleagues after he started a new job.
It had 6 sentences, & every one - all six of them - ended with an exclamation mark.
I think the breaks should be looked at Lots of 20 minutes breaks at Manchester I think that to make them 10 minutes and then have an hour break so that people can get some food etc would be better Posted by Jac35
In Response to Re: Future of the SPT - 2018 onwards : We need to get some Tikay masks, and some "Tikay10?!" ones printed too. Outlaws team gear sorted Posted by EvilPingu
Might be in luck
They'll be selling them in a lot of stores on October 31st

And that is exactly why we need name tags, imo.
I chatted with scores of players at SPT Manchester, but for the most part I was unable to put faces to names.

tikay, can i suggest one further thing?
on a few occasions, i have worn a skypoker stick on patch and have been very proud to do so. it is possible to embroider individual aliases onto a skypoker badge and give these out to sky qualifiers.
i reckon they would be well received, worn proudly and kept for ages afterwards.

Flounce incoming, presumably.
I saw an e-mailed note last week from someone who was introducing himself to his colleagues after he started a new job.
It had 6 sentences, & every one - all six of them - ended with an exclamation mark.
It started like this;
"Hi, my name is John!"
And ended;
"I am a keen football supporter!"
I mean, what IS the matter with people?
