Went to post the updates for the weekly league but upon submitting I am getting the message...

"Your comment will appear once it has been approved"
    (It contained images).

OK, let me (try to) explain that. As I'm not very techy, & you don't seem to be able to comprehend good - or even any - English, this might be awkward.

First up, I'm still feeling my way with the various bells & whistles on the new software.

Yesterday, I discovered something called "Spam Queue". This is only accessible by Moderators, & I have "Moderation Rights" so I can see it & use it.

It embraces both "spam" & "non-compliant posts", the latter being posts which contain profanities, rude words or improper images. I discovered it by chance, as Vaigret said one of his posts had disappeared, so I had a rummage under the bonnet. As it happens he had quoted one of mine which included a non-compliant phrase (a n a l rubbing), although I hasten to add it was used in an entirely proper manner, describing a scene from Autumn Watch which involved badgers, who, it seems, enjoy a bit of that. So his post, as well as mine, ended up in the so-called "spam queue". I then just had to "approve" them both, which I did, & boom, the posts became visible.

So when you said this morning you were awaiting approval, I went to the Spam Queue, & there were 3 or 4 of yours. (Well one really, but it had been attempted 4 times).

So I clicked the NOT SPAM box, & that approved all 4. I then deleted 3 of them, as they were dup/trip/quadlicates.

    Two oddities here.

    1) I have no idea why yours needed approval. Looked fine to me, fully compliant.

    2) Strangely, when I go to the "Spam Queue", I can't actually SEE the image. So I approved them, then rushed to the thread to ensure they were compliant. That's a question I'll address to the Techie guys later.

    So there you have it.

Please go to google Translate to turn it into Norwegian if you can't understand good English.

Lol, I have understood everything you have ever said to me. Even your general 'wafflings' about cement and the like :D - It is your good self who needs the Norwegianish - English Google translate tool!

Yeah I see exactly what you mean. I will have clicked to submit my post several times as the message stating that the post needed approval is very discrete. It appears briefly down the bottom left of the screen. I fear you may have rather a few multiple posts as a result in the future.

Strangely I noticed that when I submitted the post again (after you had approved the earlier one) that it worked first time. There was 1 difference between the post which posted directly at first attempt and the others. I had labelled 2 separate chunks of text as 'Headline 1' using the simple HTML tool. In the last one (and the ones I posted yesterday) I labelled the 2 sections of text as 'Headline 1' and 'Headline 2'. I have no idea if that is what caused the problem.

Anyways, thanks for sorting it Tikay :)

Also glad to hear you got the @n al rubbings sorted!

P.S. For future reference (this should solve all sorts of communication issues).

    Help for Tikay...

Hi, quick question, apologies if this has already been answered, but I have heard nothing back on it from my post in "betting chat".

Will there be a facility where by I can continually update an opening post of one of my threads?

I have found the forum changes quite tough and as things currently stand don't think I can continue with my charity thread next year.

I have had to put in so much work to keep the Jackpot Syndicate going since the changes and I have been remiss in keeping the charity thread updated, which is not fair on the competitors involved, so I feel I will have to stop it in 2018.

It will be with a heavy heart if I have to stop it as it was done in memory of my brother who died in 2013, but it is just too much work for me to facilitate with all the changes.

Never say never though, so hopefully I may be able to get it going again in 2019 when I may have a bit more time on my hands to work out a way we can do it with the new forum.

    Cheers,

    Graham

I'm on the case right now, bear with me please.

I am almost certain to be able to give a definitive answer some time today.

Been a while since I've been on here but I must say, well done on the new forum. Much easier to use and a better layout esp on my iPad. . May be a more frequent visitor here now. #topwork

    Good to hear, Carl @Mohican

In case you were not aware, you can now Upload photographs without them needing approval. Good sized photos, too, not like the old forum.

    Recognize this photo?

Last from the past that Tikay. At least nine years old that photo. The bike that replaced it has just been traded in against the one in my Avatar. Pick it up on the first of March.

    That is an awesome Bike.
I am a confirmed Bike-a-phobe after getting the most frightening 'backie' through rush hour years ago.
If anything would persuade me to ride one, something like that would potentially do the trick

Hi @HENDRIK62 Twas an awesome bike but it was replaced by this. These two were a league apart in performance. Probably not suited to a Bike-a-phobe

First up, as you can see, we still have some work to do to re-organise the Boards generally.

This will happen over the coming days & weeks, & in the fullness of time it'll all be hunky-dory.
