Hi Tony ....sad to say it's NOT before my time, but I've followed Horse Racing since I was a toddler (obv.), and I remember watching BIRDS NEST win the Fighting Fifth, as well as running against one of my all-time favourites NIGHT NURSE, and also MONKSFIELD, COMEDY OF ERRORS, and SEA PIGEON etc. in the real GOLDEN AGE of 2mile Champion Hurdlers.
Funnily enough, just last week the ROAD TO CHELTENHAM' programme on RacingTV, showed all those old Champion Hurdles from the late 70s/early 80's...... well worth a watch if it's on YouTube, if you don't subscribe to RacingTV

Oh my, that's very sad.
I'll always remember him for Birds Nest, which might have been before your time?

Ha, that's SO incred.
@lucy4 See, never doubt my man HAYSIE.
Jimmy Lindley RIP
The older horse racing fans here will remember Jimmy well. Stylish jockey, & the best "paddock commentator" it has been my privilege to listen to.Can barely believe he was 86.

Jimmy, rather than Jeremy.
He was a terrific commentator.
@HAYSIE
Jeez, whatever made me type "Jeremy"?
Good spot, thanks Tony.
Well you should at least be brave enough to tag him.
@MISTY4ME
as long as it's not me biting the dust
RIP Jimmy
