Regarding Placepots MAX, I'm not over keen, but I'll keep a look out for any potential +ev Placepot cards, and we can discuss further then.
Cheers,
G
With regards PLACEPOTS, in my time watching racing (quite a few years!!!), the only time there is a decent payout is when either the first 3 or 4 in the betting aren't placed in 1 or more races, or when there is a race with 7 runners and the first two Favourites don't place. Either way it is only when results go against form that there is a decent payout on Placepots, and therefore imo they are the most difficult bets to win money on.
I did some homework on this some months ago. We would have had a few wins had we gone with the same selections, but my conclusion was that the returns could not justify the investment.
Cheers MAX. Do you want me to do the tables tomorrow as it's a GO-LIVE?
Yes please mate. Also, I am going out for the evening now, so any chance you could update the result from the 7.45 and table? No worries if not, I will do it on my return.
BUT THERE ARE LOTS OF PLAYERS SNAPPING AT HIS HEELS.
CAN HE HOLD THEM OFF? TODAY'S PICKS COULD WELL DETERMINE THE WINNER. OR AT LEAST THE CONTENDERS AS WE COUNT DOWN TO XMAS FESTIVITIES INCLUDING THE KING GEORGE/CHRISTMAS HURDLE ETC.

Our Jackpot Perm structures certainly don't suit Placepots. Also when we do Jackpots we are looking for "less competitive" cards.
If we do Placepots we want the opposite.
I tend to agree with the comments made, although I do think "occasionally" there is an edge to be had, but only at a handful of meetings/cards in the year. (Usually the big festivals)
Also, as people can do Placepots at 10p per line, there isn't really the need of a syndicate in most cases.
Comments
Pretty sure the Jackpot will be at Cheltenham tomorrow.
It doesn't really matter if there is a roll over or not as we will likely be playing for the £10K Guarantee either way.
The board prices arn't fully in yet, but it is a close call as to whether we go for it or not.
The biggest field is 10 runners and there is a 4 runner and 6 runner race.
Any opinions? Roger would you be able to prep the sheet if it's a GO?
I'll give it until say 6.20pm for responses and then make a decision.
Cheers,
G
I will confirm at 6.20pm.
Cheers,
G
I will update the sheet in unison if that's OK.

G
FYI all. I will probably do 3 perms, slightly smaller than usual, as there will be no "significant" roll over, so don't want to throw too much at it.

ALL TO PLAY FOR IN THE NAPS LEAGUE.
MR V HAS THE LEAD, AND IS THE ONLY ONE IN PROFIT.
