laggy tables

goldnballzgoldnballz Member Posts: 2,819
been laggy all night for me, seems to be a recurring problem (used to happen regularly every 2/3 months - although not for a while) lobbies not updating, tables taking an extra minute or 2 to load - a big problem if you are playing HU sng, games in the lobby not showing that you are registered....

Had the same tonight too. Lets hope the big fella delivers a more improved software package on Sunday B)

On Chrome. Download is lagging as described above. Not unplayable, but it may need a quick look under the bonnet before it gets worse.

Same, last two nights. Lobby slow at recognising you're registered. Regularly missing the first hand in turbo DYM games.

    Hi Guys,

Yes, I saw this for myself last night.

I was missing the first few hands of DYM's due to the table not opening immediately. It was no big deal, just 1 or 2 hands, & once I sussed it, I unticked HIDE FULL TABLES, went to the imminent DYM, & then pressed "LAUNCH TOURNAMENT" which then insta- launched the table.

So not a big deal (for me), I only had 4 or 5 tables on the go, but I agree with you, it needs looking at, just in case it's a portent of glitchyness ahead. Last thing we need over Xmas is software problems. Frustrating, as the site has been very stable for ages now.

I have reported it to the Office. If I hear back from them, I'll keep you updated.

As you can imagine, it's "skeleton staff" over the holiday, & of course Sam the Daddy Man is not available to me at the mo, but I do have ways to contact James, Kirsty & Mark, & have done so already.

    Apologies for any inconv.

    Quick Update, 0900

This has been picked up by the Team, & has been passed to the Tech Guys in Service Desk to investigate &, hopefully, resolve.

If I hear further, I'll let you know.

I have had this issue with cash tables also. Mainly the lobby not updating but I put it down to my poor internet connection (it happens living in the sticks).

Unrelated to lag but since yesterday I have had an error keep popping up from flashplayer about some kind of security exception, when using the dedicated app.

I have seen posts recently about new software in the works. Is this for real or just a long running gag??

As the kids say, "it's for real".

You can also go to “My tables” which sometimes can be quicker.

    Is it still laggy tonight?
I plan on playing and tbf Tikay it is a big deal. Not at the start but when multi tabling and you’re timing out on the bubble it can be very costly

It's the same as last night for me.

But the lag (for me) is ONLY when waiting for a new table to open, there are zero issues during play of the hands, so there is no question of timing out on the bubble. So it's not a big deal to me, to be honest.

It should not be like this, of course.

I'm just finishing up, haven't suffered with much 'table lag' myself but the lobby is slow to update and tables late popping up. So what ever issues you were having previously I'd say they're likely still to be there.

As far as I am a aware, nobody has complained that the lag is affecting "in-hand play".

The problem, AFAIK, is just at the very start of the game, when the table does not open until 1 or 2 hands have elapsed.

Yes, that remains exactly as it was last night, but there are NO "in play" problems as far as I am aware.

I think he means when his got four tables up for example and he on the bubble of a MTT, and he is too busy trying to get another table to load and forgets to take his turn when his on bubble.

    Oh, I see, apologies.

The delay in tables opening is minuscule, and really makes no difference. IMO, of course.

I have played 8 games so far today, mostly 3 & 4 tabling, and not missed a single hand at the start of a game. Lost a few of them though......
