They're setting the scene to replace him before November and to prevent further prosecutions.
Who is "him"?
Biden now has (afaik) 0 current prosecutions/significant legal actions pending. Unlike Trump.
The 1 advantage Biden has us that he is ahead in the polls. Presumably because people would rather vote for a harmless old duffer than a dangerous one.
My money would be on both of them being either dead or receiving round the clock care during the term of the next presidency.

So a Special Counsels findings, after interviewing Biden, are unhinged?
Hopelessly partisan. As everything seems to be in US politics.
Trump's supporters just seem to want to try and prove Biden has dementia, and is somehow dangerous. Biden's supporters just seem to want to prove Trump has dementia, and is somehow dangerous.
You know what? They are both right. Both so busy throwing rocks that no-one looks at their own Candidate.
Both of them appear unable to remember the most significant events in their lives. Both appear barely able to stand. Both regularly seem to forget pretty much everything.
People forget their jobs, and just try and throw their "opponent" under the bus. True of the Special Counsel-his job was to determine whether or not Biden should be prosecuted. To which the answer was No. The rest is political. No Counsel should ever be making those sorts of statements about a current President in the course of his job.
Just as true with the ridiculous posturing about whether Trump should be allowed to stand. That should neither be decided by Democrat Judges. Or, indeed, Republican ones. Unless and until Trump is found Guilty of something akin to Insurrection (which is unlikely ever to happen) he should be allowed to stand. Whether the Republican Party should have backed him is another matter-but up to them.
2 has-beens. According to your political leanings, 1 has always been useless and the other not. But both are now past their eat by date, never mind their sell-by date.
Both Trump and Biden should be nowhere near running for the position of President.
Why hasn't there been a credible Democrat challenging Biden to be their nominee for this years election?
Do they really think he is their best option?
imo its because no one wants to lose to trump, younger candidates know if they lose to trump they wil never get another shot at going for president........one thing it shows of biden, he aint afraid, and probly because he is so old just doesnt care.

Or doesn't know what's going on....... I'm sure his buddy Barry will sort things out for him.
The special counsel's report said that it would be difficult to convict the president of improper handling of files because "at trial, Mr Biden would likely present himself to a jury, as he did during our interview of him, as a sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory".
"It would be difficult to convince a jury that they should convict him - by then a former president well into his 80s of a serious felony that requires a mental state of willfulness."
Mr Hur's report also said Mr Biden's memory seemed to have "significant limitations" during interviews. He could not recall when he was vice-president (from 2009-2017), or "even within several years, when his son Beau died" (2015), the investigation said.
If he's not fit to stand trial then he's not fit to be President!

Depends what you mean by "best option". For me? No. Logically? No. The only thing that makes him a viable option is that he seems to have the best chance of beating Trump. He should not-but he is.
Biden and Trump are both clearly past it. But there is a total lack of new blood for the future. Probably for very different reasons.
Trump, rightly or wrongly, is seen as the big beast of the Republican Party. Of all the supposed "opponents", most were either has-beens or never-wases. Most of them seemed to be auditioning to be Trump's running mate, rather than the next candidate for President.. The only exception being Nikki Haley, who is at least standing up for herself.
The Democrats? I think their big problem is Michelle Obama. Is she going to stand the next time, or not? That needs clarification-because it seems to me a lot of people are failing to come forward for that very reason.
There are 7 British PMs who are younger than Trump. Blair, Brown, Cameron, May, Johnson, Truss and Sunak. And 8 younger than Biden-as John Major, who has been largely irrelevant this Century, is younger than Biden.
In America, Trump was born in the same year as Bill Clinton and George W. Bush, and is 15 years older than Obama. And Biden was born 4 years earlier than that.
Major, Blair, Brown. Clinton, Bush, Obama. All had their time. And accept it has passed.
Unlike the 2 men proclaiming that they are better than they were 20 years ago. Like 2 sad old men in a Care Home.
the only question is, who cares, just a puppet show for your tell lie vision . they are just like in the uk and canada making a mockery of its citizens

America deserves better.
They were unhinged.

He was given his first job by Willie Brown who coincidently gave Kamala Harris her first job (after she gave him a B job).
Also he is related to Nancy Pelosi
