No idea why what works on some sites does work on others, it's just how it is. Morrisons are great for fresh veg, while Waitrose sells delish sticky buns.
The lack of antes certainly does not help with Freezeouts & the like, for sure.
They won't be advertising on Sharkscope, that's pretty certain. For starters, I'm not sure Sky Poker approve of Sharkscope stealing data from Sky Poker without permission & then selling it on. It's not exactly "targeted advertising" either. When you advertise on Sharky, the cost includes advertising globally, but Sky Poker is only available in the UK, RoI, & Gibraltar. So for every £ paid in advertising fees, Sky Poker would only be getting about 1p of value, if that. Advertising to folks in, say, Manila, Calcutta & Moscow is dead money.
Anyway, the existing one has had it's structure improved, & a new one has been added, so that's something. Personally, I'd like the players to do their bit now & spread the word, make some noise.
Ah, fair comments on sharkscope in particular. I hadn't really thought about that side of it too deeply- was more just throwing ideas around on the possible advertising front.
Any opinion on the rest of my post though Tikay, re those tournaments (buy-ins, prize pool, times) and possible incentivising bonuses/promotions/leagues?... easier to make some noise if the songs worth singing
That's kinda like that game we used to play at School.
"I'll show you mine if you show me yours". (They'd probably get arrested for that these days).
Honestly, I do think the players have to contribute to these things, too.
We've had countless "campaigns" on here down the years, players wanting this, that or the other. They are always based on self-interest - & quite right too - but just because you or I want this or that, does not mean everyone else does.
Anyway, Sky Poker have responded, so let's see how it goes. You never know, it might be the beginning of a revolution.
I have changed the structure slightly to take out 2 early levels of 10/20 and 15/30 and I have put in 125/250 and 250/500 levels. I've also put in a Mega Stack on Saturday at the same time so will see how that does.

Two reasons I think the Freezeouts aren’t as popular on Sky are the exclusion of antes and I think a big factor is that Sky is predominantly 6 handed. The sites where Freezeouts are popular base the majority of their schedule around 9 handed tables whereas Sky is all about 6 handed. The other problem for Sky is that it’s player base is very much on the recreational side of the game and for a MTT to be successful on the site it has to appeal to the worker, ie start at 7ish and finish before 12ish. The current 6 handed, BH format helps to achieve this and hence their popularity.

Not sure if either of these things are such big factors to be honest. The freezeouts and deep stacks I play on a different site are 6 max also (I can't abide 9 handed poker any more ) as are most of their tournaments and they start around 6/7/8 and finish before 12... I'm a recreational and a worker too (as are most people playing low volume with a £5 average buy-in) I just like to play most nights ...I think I'm an addict at this point to be honest though
On a positive note, tonights Mega had a prize pool £400 over the guarantee...

Whoa, hold up, hold up. There's the Job Interview first.
So, Mr Plump, if you come on board, what can you bring to Sky Poker?
How would you bring your diplomatic tact & skills to bear when Team Sky Is Rigged start threads & threaten to depart in a huff?
Please also be aware that Sky Poker have attracted a new sponsor - Manchester United, spearheaded by Maureen. Can we assume you'll be warm & friendly to them?
He's a natural in front of a camera, has tremendous interpersonal skills with a fine grasp of diplomacy, wears a mean waistcoat and luckily has a tremendous respect for Portuguese managers....
Ive been playing here years and only found out there was a weekly megastack in Jan '18 when Waller mentioned it for the race to the main comp.
Mynas advertising suggestions are bang on the button, though I get why you wont be advertising there (ss). I also thought internet advertising was IP/ location targeted so wouldnt be wasted in non qualifying areas.
Well it's now been 6 weeks since a Saturday Mega Stack was added to the schedule. It needs 100 runners to meet guarantee and over those 6 weeks the number of entrants has been as follows: 141, 138, 122, 161, 141, 131.
I think the deeper starting stacks which allow for a longer than normal period of late reg is probably a big factor in keeping numbers strong. 'Mega Stack' is also quite a sexy title which probably helps a bit too! Either way, it's good to see a regular freezeout doing well at the Mecca of bounty hunters.
So, given its performance, is there any chance that Sky could indulge us Mega Stack lovers by adding another one to the schedule?*
*Whilst these continue to hold their numbers well I'll keep banging the drum until they're nightly .

Good to see a suggestion/request backed up by real numbers, rather than, as we so often see, vague guesses or "a lot".
I'll pass this up to James for him to have a look at on Monday, & he or I will then respond as appropriate.
Have a good Sunday.
i think a mid week mega would struggle imo
