Well played in the PL08 bh, that’s 1 all heads up, best of 5? 😉
Thanks went for more of a chilled approach today. Had f-all bounties though! I'm sure we'll get heads up again soon. Did you make the Vegas Semi, saw you were on the other table. Lost a flip on the bubble vs IrishRose.
Which tournaments do you think have the toughest players - NLH or PLO8?
There's a smaller pool of PLO8 players and unlike NLH I wouldn't say it was a 'solved game' and there's so few resources on optimal play. The B/H's tend to play more aggressive and there's more gamble. The £3 ones attract the more conservative players. You can sometimes even bluff! There are good and weak players across both, but looking at results I would say I have an edge over your PLO8 field than NLH, where at the mo I'm clearly trying to get out the goldfish bowl!
At the minute I'm struggling to get deep in a tournament, once that occurs I feel confident as the weaker players tighten up closer to the money. So the maniac element has gone. I just can quite shake the multi-limped pots in NLH or constantly being in the middle of a 3-way once I've raised big and missed the board. Maybe I'm doing it all wrong in the early stages or maybe it happens to everyone now and again.

Yes I made semi ( first one this year 😊) seems my luck stretches over both formats of the game.
Great to see a someone streaming Sky Poker, followed! I have played a little with you the last couple of months.
Out of interest what are your tags? looks like you have pink for top regs red for winning played blue for recs, not sure about yellow or green.
Thanks, yes I saw you a lot starting out but not recently of late. Thanks for the follow. Maybe on tonight.
Yes it's pretty much follows the sharkscope ability so 80+ pink. red 70-80. orange is 60-70 generally winning but not crushing. green is new/unknown/locked. yellow is late 50's into early 60's break even or played large sample and Blue is 50's
Anyone looking at the past two months can tag me as blue. Ahem!
Starting to get really **** off with the bad beats and coolers now. It's just getting to ridiculous levels. No matter how many times I start each day with best intentions the deck just keeps smacking me in the face. It's got to the extent where I'm considering moving my money across to another site and bringing it back for the UKOPS in a couple of weeks.
Confidence is very low and dipping below the starting 1k has psychologically affected my morale. Start questioning whether going public on a forum is such a good idea or just puts a target on your head. Plus I'm finding it hard not having a record of my hand histories or even a EV graph, to show how often I'm getting it in good and fall foul of lady luck. Even in freerolls now A3 shoves I call with AJ and A3 wins, it genuinely feels normal. That is odd.
Some of the lows in the last week bubbling £110 seat freeroll. 2nd in chips bvb with K6 I shove 10bbs into 3rd in chips. Calls with 77's. Bubble Vegas quarter £30 or seat A9 vs 55.
Highlight winning £5.50b/h although only two bounties. 2nd in a £1 Triple Takedown.
Really not sure what the plan is moving forward, whether I just play PLO8 on here and NLH elsewhere. Got very close to a final table tonight in £5.50b/h, played flawless until final pot, once again a KO on bubble. I mean in this hand below he's drawing to two Jacks and calls a pot bet with no low. Why!? Why are these players getting rewarded?
When he donk bets the turn I can't put him on a set of jacks, it's not a hand you would generally have with no low? I'm putting him on a low/club draw. It's just crazy. Of course my emergency low doesn't come. This is 2nd vs 3rd in chips for final table.
Hi Notbrook Have you any thoughts on your play in the hand above? First thing what comes to my mind is, he’s limped and you have let him see a flop cheap. You have a fairly decent hand., why no raise? If you pot it pre, and pot the flop does he still come along? If he does and then he bets the turn, you have a sense of where you are in the hand.
Mind you, I’m not thinking on your level and may be talking rubbish. Have a great weekend.

To be fair @tomgoodun thought notbrook played this about right. Raising pre with this hand when your in the top three may not be a good idea and final table on the way imo but each to there own i guess. Don't think raising pre then raising after flop would shake this Villian off anyhow as you know there are some PL08 players who bet every preflop and find it very hard to fold. Think the theory is 'I have four card's i have got to hit something'Most of the time this should work in your favour it's just annoying when there hit when it's an obvious fold after the flop for the Villian. watched your stream a few times notbrook you seem a good player sure it will turn around soon just got to hope it's a bad run of variance that will end soon. Keep playing hands against Villian like that and it will soon turn in your favour.
Thanks for the input @tomgoodun and @safc71. I posted this ranty entry the other night but it quickly disappeared after posting (I guess for review!) now it rears it's ugly head again, warts and all!
I really didn't know much about the villain and also need to learn how to post hands but blank out names.
The table was 3 handed I think with the top 3 were on one table. (As a side note, I would welcome 7 handed final tables as this can be a real killer in blinds are high) Generally I don't like getting into big pots in these situations if I can help it, so raising anything less than AAxx is not really my style. I much prefer to play flops if I think I can outplay my opponent and take it down without showdown.
My biggest mistake is pot raising his bet on the turn. It's just so unlikely he has JJ but it is much more likely he's leading with A2 with a spade draw, if so then I'm not a huge dog but still the huge raise with is asking for trouble. I think I clicked back so fast wanting to get it in, I didn't tank and think about the hand as I had been doing.
The shock of seeing the set of jacks was probably the killer blow and not hitting the low on the river sent me into rant mode. Luckily it was just at my wife (about the hand) and not in the chat!
It's good to discuss PLO8 hands, we could start a separate thread? Especially as I think we all have different styles of play. I will be playing the usual b/h's tonight and will gladly like to see you both on the final table(s) and hopefully not before! lol
Comon Sky, give me a fricken break! This is just getting silly. Prior to this hand AA vs A5 for £20 bounty and it runs out as a split pot. Really some luck in the £33 would be nice.
One thing I know some people do is sit for 5mins or so before a session and imagine all of the horrific bad beats and suck outs that are going to hit them in the next few hours: runner-runner, 2-outers, bubbling with AA, KK<K3o, etc etc and then when it happens you're already mentally prepared for it and it doesn't affect you too much in game and you can focus on carrying on and playing your A game rather than stewing on it.
@Angmar2626 thank you for the reality check. I sometimes check reg's graphs on a week/month basis to ground myself, even the best have losing streaks.
The mind set is on a gradual shift. I think part of me is thinking, this has to happen now because I have the free time to put in volume. Don't give me all my good luck quota in the summer as I won't be putting in the same volume. That's what is frustrating, even though it's complete nonsense.
You have a pretty incredible ROI and by the looks of it don't play daily. What is the secret to your schedule/game selection?
Will continue to post these in the diary as a record as it seems this is becoming the norm in the £33's, highly frustrating as it's a ball-ache to qualify for this ruddy tournament every night.

These things happen in MTTs
Sometimes you just can't win an 80/20 to save your life, let alone a flip. And it can last weeks! Keep going, will turn around!
