Play starts at 2pm, but the players are due to arrive at 1pm, so they have some time to chill, schmooze, and maybe have their photographs taken with Sky poker's good & great, as well as Neil Channing, aka Ambo.
Whilst we are on a horse racing diversion, today at 3.35pm is the Lincoln Handicap.
It's a 1 mile cavalry charge, though you my be surprised that back in the day, when it was run at the now defunct Lincoln Racecourse, it was a 2 mile affair.
Anyone care to use a drunken spider or rusty pin to come up with the name of the winner?
You can bet - literally - that Mr Channing will be backing a handful of selections in this one.
Most Firms go qtr odds 4 places or fifth odds 5 places, though fifth odds & 6 places is available in 2 spots, including Sky Bet.
Handy but useless hint - with soft ground probably, you want a 5 or 6 year old drawn high. There, that narrows it down. A bit.....
Today's venue is familiar to many of you, the 235 in Manchester.
Fabulous looking building, but rather odd in that the interior does not look anything like you would imagine after viewing the exterior, one is olde world, the other is super modern.
Good venue, with the whiff of a Vegas casino, which should not surprise really, as it's owned by Caesars Entertainment, who own almost half of all Las Vegas hotel rooms & venues, and, of course, the WSOP brand.
What happened to the original owners? Best not ask, or I'll reply Channing-style, & go on & on & on.
This is the area where the SPT's were held, good to see they have left the Sky Poker branded tables in use, yay. We are upstairs today though, in a private room, photos to follow.

Mr Channing is due to arrive at 1.30pm, complete with life's essentials, which includes The Racing Post and his smartphone.
Anyone care to guess his actual arrival time?

Sunday 16 feb 2018 =spt =naseer ahmed won it
Can't think how he got that nick, or who first called him that. Outrageous, really.
Late arrivals & no-shows mean it may start short handed, but in theory it will be 4 x 9 seater tables.
See you soon Mr K
Mother
xx
Have you got a list of all the players please TiKay?
My train is nearing Manchester, so no more waffle for a while, as I need to get to the Venue, set up, check into my hotel, da de da.
Don't panic though, at least 12 more hours of waffle to follow once we are all set up.
Bet you can't wait.
Don't forget we want plenty of shout outs, as well as requests for photos & chip counts.
Please note this is a CHUNTER FREE THREAD, so Team Chunter will be asked to behave today, OK?
Arrived @ 235, just getting all the advertising banners & "walls" up.
