The ones making the money are the poker websites. Why do you think they're outside any decent jurisdiction? Anyone remember, Absolute Poker? and Ultimate Bet? Oh and that other one where the bosses started taking the players money which was deposited and started buying supercars and going on cocaine and call girl benders? Snorting lines off the **** and tities of really hot women?

    pictures or it didnt happen

I can't have been the only one to read his alias as Vagisil?

Sounds like he needs some fast relief.

It's a Punjabi/Pakistani name Vasigil, what can I do they named a **** women's hygiene product similar to my name? Anyway, the amount of people who mistake my name is crazy. I can understand because I am dyslexic. So I never get offended. It's kinda funny when they misspell it in real-live tournaments. Anyway, I can needle people with it, I'll say: "did I sooth your itch?" after I beat someone on a hand, try to make them tilt. Some people are just too stupid to tilt. Hay, man as a poker player you have to have thick skin, I just hate it's becoming so PC now, everyone calling the floor-manager, because they think someones insulted me. It's annoying as when you get political correct white loony liberals standing up for you, dude sit your **** down I can handle my business.

    I digress.

I'm starting to feel the same as bogeyman75! This last 7or 8 days ive lost on the river card 90% of my hands, why is this? I have led either flop or pre flop and nearly every time ive led all the way to the river and then BOOM I get beat on the last card. I'm talking about having a straight and they hit a full house or flush or I have a full house and they hit a higher one or 4 of a kind. Its not a problem getting beat but nearly always on the river is getting really hard to take! Sky you should look into this because I'm not exaggerating.

    Hi @eagleeyezz

Not exaggerating? I bet you are.......

First up, mathematically, if you have, say, 2-2 v villain's A-K, for every card that falls on the board, the chances of your hand remaining ahead reduce. It's simple maths.

So many players pluck this figure out of the air, & it's almost always either 90% or 99%. I'm inclined to believe this is not true. "Quite often", yes, 90%, no. It's the way our mind works. We remember the painful beats & forget the occasions when we outdraw others. We just do, it's human nature. And sometimes it's because we play the hand badly. If we check it down because the board looks scary, then of course our chances of holding lessen. Whereas if we bet, we protect our vulnerable hand.

You say you "lost 90% of your hands on the river" the last 7 or 8 days.

Here's the deal then - produce the evidence - hand numbers or Tournament names & dates - & I'll ask the Office to check if you are correct. And if you are, I'll arrange a Free MTT Entry for you
. And if you are wrong, you have to post some Hand Histories, & I'll ask some of the better players to review how you played the hand so that you can improve your game.

    Can't say fairer than that.

I can say it's definitely - I almost wrote "90% sure".......... - NOT anything to do with the RNG or the software. It's just how poker works.

You might also try playing PLO, or even 5 card PLO, where the best hand pre-flop is meaningless really. In PLO, for example, we can flop the absolute nuts, but the correct play is to fold to any bet. Could you do that?

As someone who has played poker (badly) for a very long time, I completely understand your frustration by the way. However, finger pointing, or blaming the site, won't help us one bit. We have to 1) learn to understand better how poker works, & 2) try to improve how we play. Use the Forum to do both, lots of helpful folk here. Just coming on here & saying "90% of my hands lose on the river" is not going to help because it's not true, & all it does is open you up to cruel jibes.

Come on, work with us & we'll help improve your understanding of poker, & how you can play it better.

    Over to you.

Looking like my genuine offer has been declined. Who'd have guessed?

More & more frequently, players are coming on the Forum claiming Sky Poker is rigged, but when challenged to produce credible evidence, they go all shy. So the mud is thrown at Sky Poker, but never a shred of evidence. Real hit & run stuff. One of the less pleasing aspects of modern society.

WoW, I did not expect to get a return message so I didnt return to the site (until now). After reading all the comments I was sent my attitude has greatly improved. A lot of my hands has also got better. I honestly thought it was 90% (my defeats), but it was less, so I will take whatever punishment you care to dish out (LOL).
I have checked most of my games or what I could and its about 60-40 so I will stop complaining now and thanks guys for your advice I have taken it all aboard.
One lesson I learned----- before complaining get your facts straight first.

I've found you can do the bare minimum to make some easy money on Sky without any real risk of making a loss. It just depends how you play and what games you play....and if you make the most of the extras or not.

Say it's fixed all you like but I can play like dog ***** and still make a profit so I happen to disagree.

    Hi,

Sometimes I go down the conspirisy theory in my head. Poker Bot's, getting beaten on the flop and all those things that keep you awake at night after getting beat up but I keep coming back to the same thing. Why? Its not like Sky is a a struggling buisness looking to rake in a few more pennies here and there. Obviously a widescale fraud would benefit them and there are sites I avoid but I really can't see a site like this taking the risk for a few quid here and there. It would be a PR disaster and given the size of the purse from betting in general. Nah I'm not having it, somebody would spill the beans.

I read about a scenario once where the flop favoured new players. The closer they got to the bubble on MTTs the beater the cards came for them to make them feel like a better player. Whilst that does make sense and though I expect its folk law. I also used to think sites filled up sit and Go's with Botts to make the numbers up but looking at the slow rate of uptake in the mornings i doubt very much they are.

Theres consipiricy theories everywhere. On the bingo sites where folk will tell you if you sign up with the profile of an old lady and call yourself something like 'Granny67' you win more.

Sure sites want to keep you playing but this country is so full of degenerate gamblers they just don't have to work that hard to get people to hand over their money. It would be just to much biother. Surely????

    Who knows though.

About 3 years ago whilst playing on another site I kept a history of my bad beats but also a history of my suckouts and guess what over a period of 6 months they almost ran level. Not got the figures anymore but if I remember correctly I was on the right side by about 5 %.

Yes its totally tilting when some fish hits a 1 outer or the draw chaser finds his runner runner when pot odds dictate he shouldn't even be in the hand. But it really, really feels good when your own hand finds the miracle.

I used to think sites were rigged but as my play improved (yes I know its hard to believe but I was once actually worse than I am now) I saw it for what it was which is simply the varience and vagaries of poker,
