    The $25,000 thing that PokerStars ran in the Bahamas, with all those Platinum Pass freebies, actually went to a Spanish fella with just $10,000 in live cashes, & who was on a Plat Pass Freeroll.

    1 Ramon Colillas Spain $5,100,000
    2 Julien Martini France $2,974,000
    3 Marc Rivera Philipines $2,168,000
    4 Scott Baumstein United States $1,657,000
    5 Jason Koonce United States $1,304,000
    6 Marc Perrault Canada $1,012,000
    7 Farid Jattin Colombia $746,000
    8 Talal Shakerchi United Kingdom $509,000

    $5 milly, very nice too.

    I was rather hoping it would go to Talal Shakerchi, as he was the lone Brit in the Final, and I happen to know him reasonably well. He's a genuinely decent man, very polite & correct. He was chippie or nearly so on Day 1, & there or thereabouts throughout. Come the Final, & in the very first orbit he found the perfect coup, Aces v A-Q, but the A-Q got there so that was that. Half a milly is loose change to Talal, but I'd have loved him to win it.

    By all accounts, a stunningly successful Promo by 'Stars.

    On a FT w/that much up top that's pretty brutal. I kicked a wall once (that showed it) when I lost AA v AT aipf on the FT of an £11 bh, so I dread to think what I'd do in Talal's position. Kick two walls?

    Such a nothing flop for AQss too.....K32 with a single spade or something like that.

    And then the nut worst turn, 10s. Kinda felt inevitable once that turn fell.

    I'm guessing that picture wasn't of him straight after the AA v AQ hand.

    I watched some of it and enjoyed the coverage, not a patch on the old Sky Poker channel mind, but beggars can't be choosers.

    Was watching the live stream this week was a very good event.

    Find it hard to root for billionaires to win, was really happy to see one of the platinum pass winners take it down the best thing for poker imo.

    Watched it all week, my favourite story was the Russian that has never deposited on stars only plays freerolls, won a pass, spent his expenses before the event, had to sell some of his action to get to Bahamas as didnt have a pot to pee in ! , and then getting to bubble gets Aces and tanked for 10 mins after being put all in before calling (everyone moaning about the slow roll ) went on to make $140,000 !!

    Abso brilliant, love it.

    I saw the clip where he was accused of slow-rolling, but felt for him really, ugly spot in the circumstances. Never knew the backstory, wp Russia Bloke.

    There was mention yesterday of Talal Shakerchi, who made that Final Table with $5 milly up top but busted first orbit when his Aces could not hold v A-Q on a super dry flop of something like K-3-2, so he went home with just (just?) half a milly or whatever.

    Anyway, he then entered the $100,000 High Roller (HOW MUCH?), as you do, & has made the Final Table;

    1 Jesus Cortes Spain 2,885,000
    2 Sam Greenwood Canada 2,675,000
    3 Talal Shakerchi UK 1,670,000
    4 Henrik Hecklen Denmark 3,465,000
    5 Chris Hunichen USA 4,555,000

    Prize money for the 5 left in?

    1 $1,775,460
    2 $1,284,260
    3 $828,560
    4 $627,340
    5 $485,300

    WAL.

    Incidentally, Stephen Chidwick ran 8th for $236,720. That man must have won a good few bob the last few years, too.

    First up, well done to @SenorBegs, who on Friday collected a nice bit of bonus via the Final Table Jackpot, after finishing 4th in the Mini & 3rd in the Main.

    I shared tables with him at the SPT Grand Final, outplayed him several times - easy game - then wrote on the Live Update what a pleasure it was to share a table with him.

    He then replied that he had been at home all day, so I must have got confused. Oh dear, how embarrassing. Might explain how I outplayed him though.

    Anyway, here's the man. Probably.

    And for a bonus point - & this time I'm sure - who is the player sat to his right?

    Day 1b of the PCA Main Event is done & dusted, & a god few Brits are in good shape, including Niall Farrell, Jack O'Neill, Matthew Moss & Luke Marsh.

    However, the name that most caught my eye, with a top 20 stack was Simon Deadman.

    Simon used to play all his poker in Nottingham, became very successful, then moved across to Las Vegas where he makes a loving playing cash at Bellagio every day, & Tournaments as & when.

    He also married Shola, his long time girlfriend recently, which I was pleased about as I could never spell her surname.

    Here's Shola, & then Simon, wearing, as usual, a dreadful cardy.

    What were the chances?

    The 1st, 2nd & 4th in last night's Mini - @jakally, @MattBates & @TommyD - all went to Las Vegas in 2012 as Viva Las Vegas winners.

    On the same trip & also a Viva Las Vegas winner was @railtard11, who went on to finish 392nd in the WSOP Main for $28,530.

    Meanwhile, over in the Bahamas, that man Justin Bonomo was in the headlines again, winning the $25,000 single day High Roller for close to $400,000. It was his third High Roller cash of the series, all within the last 4 or 5 days, having finished 4th in both the $10,000 & $50,000 High Rollers.

    Meanwhile, almost at the same time Justin Bonomo was fetching a wheelbarrow to take another $400,000 home, he was engaged in a furious spat on Twitter with Daniel Negreanu over a Tweet by PokerNews which Bonomo thought suggested there had been some collusion in another event which involved Stephen Chidwick. (There had not).

    PokerNews ended up apologizing & withdrawing the Tweet, and that in turn provoked further hissy fits right across Twitter as to "snowflakes".

    These days folks love to argue about nothing.

    You can follow both Daniel & Justin on Twitter as follows;

    Daniel = @RealKidPoker

    Justin = @JustinBonomo

    Ouch.....

    Thanks Mr G, & delighted to hear from you, it's been too long.

    I have 3 vivid memories of that trip in 2012;

    1) @railtard11 absolutely beasting his tables in the WSOP Main before coming a cropper against an unlikely flopped 2 pair.

    2) @TommyD, despite being barely able to stand due to the effects of a touch too much alcohol, beating everyone with panache playing Beer Pong at the Welcome Party.

    3) On the day we all went home, we sort of invaded a $1 $2 cash table up in the "main" Casino near reception.

    "We" was Mr G, TommyD, Matt Bates (I think), Julian Thew & me. The locals must have wondered wtf, as we were all playing "who can with with the worst hand". Was my biggest winning session of the trip. Might have been my only winning session all trip actually. Monster fun.

    A few days back we mentioned Simon Deadman in the PCA Main.

    Well he had real deep run, eventually finishing 9th for $116,460.

    His exit was a bit nasty, he 3 bet shoved over Chino Reem with 10-10, & Rem looked him up with A-9.

    The board ran out K-7-8-J..........10.

    Brutal stuff.

    Here's Simon in action yesterday with yet another shocking cardy.

    That was a great trip. I didn't know any of the people at sky before the trip but made some great friends through the trip.

    One of my favourite moments on that trip was when we were playing limit poker down town. The only way we could have our own table was to start a new game of limit poker which we did but the table had to remain open so when a seat came open this old lady in a wheelchair joined the table and proceeded to run over @GliterBabe foot which was extremely painful when Wayne was wearing either flip flops or sandals. She was had no idea she had done it and Wayne couldn't say anything and had to just take the pain. I was a helpful friend and sat there crying with laughter!

    I remember railing Marc with Dylan when he was deep. The table was close to the rail so we could actually get a good idea of what was going on. Marc cold 4bet and showed one of his cards, from memory it was a 2 so a real premium! Next orbit the exact same set up happened and this time Marc had aces. One of guys folded a big pair which ultimately would of won the hand and Marc won a decent pot.

    After all the talk of multi million dollar PCA wins & Vegas memories, today we cast our net in shallower waters closer to home, but, with all things relative, very very impressive.

    We have a player who has won the nightly Main Event no less than 2 times in 3 days, & 3 times in just over a month. Even more remarkably, they were all almost identical tournaments & field sizes.

    Our man won the 8pm Sky Poker Main Event....

    9th December, 1st of 228 in a £30 rebuy

    14th January, 1st of 226 in a £30 rebuy

    16th January, 1st of 221 in a £30 rebuy.

    In horse racing, that'd be called CD (Course & Distance winner), or even a standing dish.

    Take a bow @kodiak1985

    Mad skills, I've always (well, not always) had fun when I've played them at cash.
